Jon's New Pared Down Setup Soil Grow: 3 Photo & 1 Auto With New Dedicated Auto Rig

Nice, informative review, @Jon!

Sounds like a plant I would definitely like. :ganjamon:

You Guys Will Dig This...

This is really cool. So you may recall earlier I said a friend of mine in PA, an old drummer of mine, who is now also a grower, sent me the Slurricane seed my girl has become. I think I also had a post somewhere that said his was about 10-12 days ahead of mine, and he grew his in far inferior conditions on every count. Blurples, Roots Organics soil, 3 gallon pot, no Ph-ing, just tap water, no tent, just non-reflective blankets for walls, etc... The reason I mention his growing conditions is cuz these are literally the same seeds from the same seed order. He got three and sent me one. This picture is the one he popped. He's on Day 66, so he's more like 20 days ahead of me. He intends to take this plant in four days at 70 days. He topped it, made six colas, and took out everything else so he basically harvests what you see. Maybe an ounce and a half or two. But look at how SWEET they look! And how frosty, big, and chunky as hell they are!

If my plant's buds turn out like this plants buds, and there's no reason to think otherwise, I'm going to be one happy dude. I think all the buds on my outer ring, the apex colas, will become very similar to this.

So please enjoy this picture of a Pennsylvania-indoor-grown Slurricane from the same seed pack as mine! Grown by a drummer yet!:rofl::rofl::rofl:

That's nice for Blurples and Blankets! :Rasta:

Grow Day 107
Flower Day 47

Here's a big, stacking, fattening bud from each plant. Sorry, I was lazy, the GTH and Hulk pics were taken with zoom instead of me going around to the other side of the tent, so they're not as focused as the Slurricane bud. Oh well. You get the gist.

- Slurricane
- Ghost Train Haze
- Hulkberry

A Good Omen?

I just realized today is November 11, 2011. That would be 11/11/11. There's something about that my OCD side gets off on. So, I honor of a day full of number ones, please enjoy this picture of the girls on Day 108 of the grow and Day 48 of flower. I turned off the reds for the picture. This is what I actually see in the tent. And it smells exactly like it looks like it would. Check out the Hulkberry. If you grow this strain, you better be prepared to support your buds. This thing has gone apeshi-. The lower buds you see on her (she's back left in the picture) go all the way around the plant. The colas are massive. I don't even know how they're staying up (thank you, MSA, in part...). I have those supports holding her buds up I installed the other day and have since added a few blocks to support the apex colas. I have revised my yield winner prediction, cuz there's no doubt - the Hulkberry is going to win that race by a significant margin. She just made a lot MORE buds, and her buds are the heaviest of the crew. Aptly named strain.

All the buds are frosty even down to the bottom. Part genetics, part my growing, part my light. Love the penetration. So we're pretty much in final fattening up stage or so. Almost 50 days of flower, I'm guessing around three weeks or so? Today the Ghost and the Hulk both got Week 11 of the FF feed chart, along with a rare shot of CalMag, molasses, Terpinator, and Easy Weed (seaweed). I have taken it easy on the molasses for most of flower this time. I have found that if I completely go nuts on the molasses for the entirety of flower (I was doing just that) - it's great - the weed is very sweet and I have even gotten these great sugary aftertastes....but you can taste the molasses. Which is okay, but this time, I wanted the taste of the weed itself to shine beyond the sugar I add. So I have added it more like every third watering, rather than every watering like in the past.

I lost back cutting buds in the malestrom of 18 plants. Damn. I wanted to do that and just realized I missed the window by a mile. Lol. Oh well. Maybe on some of the outdoor buds we'll do some of that.

So....here's the girls. They're happy. Enjoy your 11/11/11.

Um, @Jon - I really hate to be the bearer of bad news … but today’s date is 11/11/21 - not 11/11/11 dear!

Damnit. And I thought that was a cool post. Now I'm a laughing stock. LMAO. It's okay. I can handle a little embarrassment when I definitively earned it.

CAVEAT:

This is why you should never listen to me. Lmao. Today is NOT 11/11/11. But it would have been cool if it had been.

:laugh::rofl::laugh::rofl:

For the record, I'm blaming this on the damn Sour Apple. That stuff makes me forget where I am. Lol.

Creativity While You Wait on a Cure....

So I'm waiting on the Sour Apple and Chunkadelic to cure before I start smoking them in earnest. But it's getting down to almost the only weed I have, and as you know, I abhor the dispensaries and really don't want to have to go to one. I'll smoke the damn weed early before I do that. But, I remembered that I had a container sitting around from the second grow, my first grow journal here. In that container was a bunch of flarf from the scrog that hermied on me. All the buds were useless and I didn't want the seeds, so all of it got kiefed (I have no press yet) in the Trim Bin down to complete breakdown, and that is the huge bowl of kief I've been smoking for quite a while. It's still a huge bowl of kief. That scrog was frosty as hell when the bud making stopped. Anyway, I took a look in that container, and found a whole bunch of very small, but fully formed, intact, and SEEDLESS buds. Small little dense, round pellets that are stinky and were easily separated from the rest of the sometime to be butter. So I took a bunch out - enough to grind up a few bonghits, and lemme tell you, even though it was chopped about two weeks early when I discovered it had gone hermie, and even though they're the smallest buds, this weed got me wasted. It's a combination of Pineapple Upside Down Cake, Jelly Rancher, and Blueberry Muffin (the plants from that scrog attempt), and I have no idea what kind each of these teeny buds is. But the combination is real fruity, pretty dang high in thc, and makes me extra "damn..." about that damn scrog. I'm over it, but MAN would it have been good. Lol. Oh well.

Here's a picture of what I'm talking about. Just nice to have some different weed. It gets you WAY higher than the Chunkadelic I have 6.5 ounces of. Lmao. More like Sour Apple level high - mid 20s-ish thc. And it tastes great. Real fruity, more that than dank. Sweet. Smooth. Yummy.

I have little jars of leftovers on a dark pantry shelf under the stairs. We refer to these little gems as "extremely well cured pot", connoisseur grade, and not for sale at any price. Those who visit and are invited to pick one from the "archives" are always in for a treat.
Yep. I was surprised as hell. But then again, it has been curing for six months. Definitely a different experience than when I had just harvested that stuff and tried a few buds I deseeded. Must be fun to visit you. Heh.

If you don't leave here stoned, you didn't try hard enough.
