Flower Day 37

Hey, you guys remember when I promised you a spectacular fireworks show?

Here's the first salvo. The Slurricane is NOT fuc---g around.

This much color at only Day 37 of flower? I'm going to go ahead and say my low temperatures are having the desired effect. Her buds look half decent too. :)laugh2:)

Here's two pictures. All I did in terms of editing these pictures was to increase the sharpness and the definition. I did zero to these photos in terms of light or colors. What you see is what actually is.

-
The first picture is the Slurricane monster with my red light flower boosters engaged as they always are.
- This second picture is with the flower boosters turned off. THESE ARE HER ACTUAL COLORS RIGHT NOW. I can't even believe I am not kidding, this is actually what she looks like. She is that purple already and the other leaves with developing color really DO look like that. You may notice the underneath leaves are all nicely and solidly green. This is proof that those big colorful leaves are not dying off. This is not what you see. What you see is purely the result of cold nighttime temps. I think. Lol.

I mean......whoa.

I'm gonna go ahead and not complain about this.

Happy Halloween everybody!

Final Word And Smoke Report
Sour Apple Autoflower - 36 Hours Darkness/8 Day Dry/12 Day Cure
Plant 1 of 5 of this Grow Journal
Next Up: Chunkadelic Autoflower (currently drying)

Strain:
Sour Apple Autoflower
Genetics: Humboldt Seed Company, Magic Melon x Humboldt Sour Diesel
THC: Up to 24%
Harvested: Day 89
Dried/Cured: 8 days/12 days so far
Grown In: Sohum Living Soil with minimal extra additives besides water
Yield: 2 1/4 ounces of finished buds that look like the ones in the pictures - I never count flarf of any kind.
Training: Minimal LST, one topping, up potted from Dixie Cup to five gallon pot
Smell: (Only 12 days of Infinity Jar cure so far): The overwhelming odor when you open the jar is that of sour fruit, but almost sweet and sour because both hit you at the same time but are discernible. You also immediately get the familiarity of the smell of Sour Diesel, so I guess this plant got a good bit of that parent in her. When you break up a bud you release a sweetness, and the actual fruit smell. I still wouldn't call it an apple smell per se. Still working on that. To my smeller it comes off more like mango or maybe canteloupe. But it's very sweet and a very strong odor. It's awesome. You could almost retitle this particular plant Sweet and Sour Mango.
Density: Could be denser, but I always say that, lol. About as dense as a Magic Eraser. Not rocks.
Taste: This is where she shines. I LOVE the taste of this strain. I find it to be the perfect balance between the classic dank taste of Sour Diesel and something very fruity. The cross of the two parents makes the whole overall flavor a sweet and sour fruit thing, very much like it smells. The sweetness hits your mouth first and the sour is on the aftertaste. It almost leaves a sour coating on the palate. I can't stop smoking it, frankly. It tastes better by FAR than any of the several dispensary strains I have lying around collecting dust.
Buzz: This weed gets you very high. There's an immediate head rush upon exhale, with the crown of the head and down flow/rush we all love so much. This one goes down to about the middle of my back, which is pretty good. Last one stopped about shoulder level. Then a few minutes later you find, kind of out of nowhere and like, where'd that come from, that your mood has been very uplifted. The good mood is intense. A few minutes after that I was talking to myself and asking my dog for grow advice. I think it's fair to say I hit the 24% supposed limit on THC with this one.
Medicinal: This weed is good for pain. My buddy with the bird (name: Jewel, as of today) came by and he's in more chronic pain than I am. He found it to work very well, and his is in the arthritic vein, whereas my pain is more back/nerve oriented. Both of us agreed it has value in this regard.

This is the best version I have grown of the Sour Apple yet, as it's sort of become my go-to strain. The one from the Spent Soil journal that's drying is going to be interesting too. Can't wait to compare.

Hope y'all enjoyed this review of my Sour Apple Autoflower. That leaves the Chunkadelic auto (drying) and the three Photos in the tent (flowering), for this grow and journal. 2 1/4 first number could be worse. I'm very happy with this entire plant start to finish.

Here are our parting shots for the Sour Apple Auto, including one I staged for the moderators, lol....

- Finished Bud 1
- Finished Bud 2
- This is what her kief looks like - a hit of the weed topped with the exact kief from the same plant is a treat
- Happy Halloween to @420 - I hope you enjoy my gratuitous 420 picture!!!

Um....WHOA.
Chunkadelic Small Buds are Dried and Trimmed and Weighed
Still drying: 9 Gigantic Cola Towers

So all the smaller Chunkadelic buds are dried and trimmed. Here's a picture of the yield before the 9 huge tower colas which are not dry yet. Very dense. These were, however, so I took care of them.

I knew this plant yielded big, anyone could see that. But, um....this is just the smaller buds.

It's almost a quarter pound.

An auto. With the majority of the harvest yet to be added?

WHOA.

I weighed it three times and zeroed it three times because I couldn't believe my eyes.

It really is 103 grams. Holy Shi-balls. Even if I lose a gram or two more of weight in the cure, are you kidding me?

Awesome harvest and sweet weight numbers!!! Can't wait until it's all dried and cured :woohoo:
Those colas are at least three ounces, maybe four. This is going to be close to a half pound auto. In soil. In a 5. WHOA. And thanks!

I wasn’t expecting anything less than that from you Amigo. You have taken your growing to another level in the short time I’ve called you a friend. It’s awesome to see the flowers of your labor. I saw something special in the Chunkadelic that I had going and so hated to pull her. Now I see my premonition was correct! Great work Amigo.

Chunkadelic Finish Harvest Yield and Photos
I May Never Beat the Yield from this Auto in Soil

I knew the colas were only a day or so behind the others. I had a small fan lightly on them because I was concerned a bit about the density of them. Still got 8 days to dry out of them. The nine colas yielded an amazing 101 grams.

So...

103 from the smaller, less dense buds
101 from the cola, much denser buds

That, my friends, is a 204 gram autoflower grown in soil in a five gallon pot with Fox Farms soil and Canna Nutes.

204 grams = 7.3 ounces.

Even assuming I lose a few more grams in the curing process, that's arguably a decent harvest from an auto. I am not going to complain in the least.

The buds from the colas are dense, crystally, smell like perfume, and taste like a cross between perfume and fruit. I'll post a proper strain review and final final weight post-cure at the end.

FINALLY, both autos down.

That just leaves the Gorilla tent lovely photos for this journal.

Please enjoy these pics of the finished Chunkadelic cola buds. These are representative of almost every single bud I snipped off the cola stems. All of them are big, chunky, and dense. The plant lives up to it's name. Bravo HSC.
