Jon's First Outdoor Grow: Sugar Breath Photoperiod & Strawberry Banana Autoflower

Sounds like an excellent haul and a shit ton of work! Perfection has its price. :)
Yes it does my friend, and it's a price I am ecstatically happy to be paying in spades right now. You have a similar jail term coming in the not too distant future, don't you?

Yeah, ANY plants I have in containers outside have to be watered constantly because with the sun beating down on the containers, its Evaporation City! My plants that are in wooden half barrels fare a bit better, but I think thats because the wood actually retains a bit of moisture on its own. Not GREAT, but definitely better than plastic pots or hanging baskets!
Funny you say that cuz I thought it was just coco or fabric pots, but today, on your namesake's first day in the sun, and she got watered first thing this morning, she was bone dry by 4 when she went back to the rig and I fed her again. She's in a black plastic pot. Lol.

I don't expect much this round since the cold will probably halve the harvest, but I'm hoping for a nice haul off the Doug's Varin this spring!

And I have been known to rope family members in when the going gets tough. :)

Hey @Jon missed you in my journal recently buddy. Dunno if I did something wrong :(

Your buds look bloody lovely! Ya gotta be happy with that haul too lol. Should keep you going for a few days :)
Lol. Hi Moon. Of course you didn't. I actually commented on your canopy tonight, only it was in the POTM post you put up. I am almost done trim jail round one and get a several days break to let the weed cure and then back to jail to do the PUC and the four autos. After that I'm down to just the Apple Blossom and the tent and I can finally sleep. So I am gradually, just tonight, getting back around to catching up on people's journals. Heck, around here with this crew, when you miss a few days you miss a LOT. So it's taking me longer per journal than usual, lol, and I just hadn't hit yours up yet. But you're obviously on the list although cuz of the POTM post I already see how great you're doing. I'll be there man, how could you do something wrong? You're the Moonster!

Morning Mucker, I mean @Bill284, it's 5:30 am, must be time for me to ask you something. Lol.

Soon I will be up potting the Apple Blossom from her one into a three. She's in my FF soil blend using the @Prescription Blend nutes. So here's my question, and if you PB guys wanna chime in on this that would be awesome should you see it....would layering the pot with bokashi and frass do anything positive for the plant using regular soil and PB nutes? What harm can adding microbes do? Isn't that essentially what that would be doing? Would that complement the nutes, hurt them, or have no effect?

@Emilya, if you happen to have any theories on how/if/when/etc...adding microbes in the form of bokashi and frass to regular soil and PB nutes might interact with one another I'd love to hear your input on this. @InTheShed?

Thanks in advance guys!

Good morning Jon.
I think I mentioned before to give it to all your girls.
The added availability of the nutrients through the fungi and microbial activities is extremely beneficial.
Try it on all your ladies please.
Healthier stronger ladies will be your reward, mucker. ;)

Stay safe
Bill

Thanks. I'm doing my best to keep track of all the stuff you tell me. Lol. Sometimes I have to ask twice. Just wasn't sure if there's any soil type medium or combination at all that won't benefit from bokashi and frass. Guess not. Give it to all my girls. Got it.

Day 54

This plant is beginning to look as if she may become my fastest finisher ever. Only day 54 and she doesn't look to me like she'll make 70 days. We'll see. Her buds are starting to really toss out the color and frost now. Late froster, like the Gelato, but stinky and full of trichomes like that strain too. These are much larger buds though. So much fatter than the sativa pheno, and so much easier to trim....wish I got this pheno for all three. Can't wait to see what the buds on the coco photo DSD come out looking like.

So here's five bud closeups. The last picture is the lowest, flarfiest bud on the plant.

Hey @Bill284, just to follow up...

This is what I was talking about. Here's that same ultra praying plant today after being moved up just two inches - the height of one brick. Gotta know your light man. Lol. This is what I want. Good, solid pray at the right angle. Not that crazy stuff like yesterday. So quickly they adjust.

So here's the top of the plant and a shot of a lower branch. See? We're good now. Least til the grow up, but I have a foot to move yet with the light if necessary.

Flower Day 15

This here is what I would call environmental porn. Heh. For early budding I am super happy with these numbers for daytime temp and rh.

That is all. Lmao.

Day 54

Haven't said much about this girl, not for any reason, just worked out that way. Here she is in her current state of play. Check the terrible entire plant pic, and you can see she's gonna yield big, and that I almost definitely got the damn sativa phenotype. Was hoping for the indica on this one. Spoiled much? Lol.

I put her as a later finisher than the three DSD's. Certainly the DSD with the fat buds. And the other two look very similar to this plant, same phenos, same training, relatively same size, only the buds look further along on those two DSDs that the GZ. She is beginning to shoot her colors, though, and she's gonna be quite frosty from the looks of it.

Whole plant first to get that picture out of the way. Sorry, hard to get a good shot without removing her and I ain't. After that a few bud shots including a real lower bud as the last picture and one of a branch so you can see her real colors and level of health.

Lookin good Jon!

Love the frost, the coco plants, and the environmental porn!

In terms of microbes and synthetic nutes, from what I've read the microbes don't have anything to do when the roots are being fed synthetic nutes, which are in a form much easier for the plant to access. They only play a part when the nutrients are coming from what's in the soil itself. Dunno anything about bokashi and frass specifically, but I'm sure it doesn't hurt!

Fungi are a different story as they can be beneficial to the roots themselves.

Haha I'm glad we're ok. Also glad you've been busy but for the best reason ever hehe. Trim jail is a painful one but has the best release date ever haha.

Should have known I was being a paranoid fool as usual :).

I know what you mean lol. I spent today watching the new Witcher season and came on to over 150 notifications. I can't imagine how many you must have lol!

Cant wait to see the weight in! The quality is guaranteed with your grows so just interested to see how much you have to smoke over Christmas heheh.

Sending positive thoughts for your final result and positive vibes to get you through trim days hehe
