Don't worry about it now.Nope, not your old eyes, a couple are low. A few of the sevens are actually 6.25's and the one 5 is actually a 4.25. Has to do with my soil on hand at the time. I could top all them off now, but it would cost me one plant. Of the soil I have left, I have plenty for the Chocolope and Apple Blossom seedlings, then enough for two others I'm waiting on to arrive, a Mimosa EVO photo and a Watermelon Weddingcake Double XL Auto.
Is it that big of a deal at this point and if I leave it be is there some way it will negatively affect the grow? Cuz if not, I'm going to leave it be in lieu of two more plants instead of one.
?
Toldja you were a harsh taskmaster. And you're right. The impatience of not waiting for the new soil to arrive was the rookie part. I was getting more anyway, just chomping at the bit. Dumb. Oh well. Lol.Don't worry about it now.
You know to order more next time.
That's rookie stuff you know better.
Stay safe

It's a lesson I have to learn over and over again. You know how hard it is to watch those buds swell in the tent? I want to take them so bad. Of course I won't. But it's like watching paint dry. I'm over the colors. Ready for some kill bud.Patients grass hopper.

Everyone says that, lol. I need change man. The sameness of the weather gets to me here, no matter how sweet it is. When it's the same every damn day it gets pretty old. I look forward to intense thunder storms and stuff just cuz it's a different look. Between that and the politics here (not trying to get into a political anything, ever) I can't stay. It's intolerable. Only my plants and my puppy make it palatable for me here. Not that the weather hurts. Most of you would kill for it.How can you want to leave that for up north? Your plants will hate you for it. Ha!
NTH
Right? They grew thin leafed and wishy washy for me in the beginning. Could have been me but probably both.I remember when autos were new they seemed like a watered down version of the same variety in a photoperiod, but since they've really been working on refining the breeds that no longer seems to be the case (at least a lot of the time anyway). I'm curious to see how the two compare when you have a chance to test them side by side!
Holy Moly those buds are fat!Gelato Autoflower, aka, Michael
Day 76
I haven't shown you guys the Gelato much, not for any reason, just worked out like that. But she's awesome. Very productive plant. Fattening up sweetly. Very soon to be ready. VERY dense buds, denser than the Strawberry Banana considerably. She STINKS. Very dank, slightly fruity odor.
Here she is today:
Frost on frost there! Beautiful!Harvest Update!!!
Strawberry Banana #2
Day 76
Two down, three to go in the @NextLight auto rig. Harvested SB #2. That leaves 2 more SBs and the Gelato. The 420h has done a wonderful job. These buds are dense and frosty top to bottom. Not a whole lot of difference between the tip of the bud and the base. Partially a tribute to the penetrating power of this light. I suspect the frost level is also related to the spectrum of this light, although certainly genetics play a large part. I also find that autos grown in Sohum get especially frosty compared to regular soil.
I had partially harvested a cola and a half from this plant the other day. This was the remaining four main colas, all of which are gigantic and dense.
Here's what she looked like at harvest and a closeup of a bud. FROST CITY. She's hanging in the drying closet!

The other thing is, where I live here. It's one of those hundreds of gated retirement communities that litter the landscape down here. Nice gated communities across the street from trailer parks, believe it or not. All over the place. It's weird. But within the community is where that sameness of everything really hits hard. You ever watch Weeds? You know the theme song in the beginning, Tiny Little Boxes I think it's called? This IS that place. If you don't know your house number here you could very easily walk into the wrong house. From the street every single block looks the same. So do the people. They're just all the same. Older, retired people with more money than they know what to do with who consider walking their lap dog the same thing as taking a ride with it on their laps in a golf cart. The sounds of Pickleball being played on the dozens of those wannabe-tennis-ping-pong courts all the time ring around the neighborhood all day, as do the sounds of everyone's stupid hurricane unit outside going off at 110 decibels while it tests itself every damn day. Stupid people. There's so rarely any issue on the lower west coast of this state from a hurricane it's just 10K down the drain. But it makes them feel safe. As do the goddamn gates I suppose. To me they might as well be bars.Everyone says that, lol. I need change man. The sameness of the weather gets to me here, no matter how sweet it is. Hey @StoneOtter and @InTheShed, are you guys saying that since you first started growing autos the genetics have actually advanced significantly, kind of across the spectrum? Like, I'm lucky to begin growing them when I did? Is it possible they're like weed, in that it's the only drug on Earth which has actually gotten BETTER in our lifetime? LOL. Cuz seriously, speaking at least for Cinderella Jack, Sour Apple, Gorilla Zkittlez and Strawberry Banana (so far, from the strains I've grown), in my opinion those strains are 100% just as solid of weed on every single level as any photo I've grown.Right? They grew thin leafed and wishy washy for me in the beginning. Could have been me but probably both.

Frost on frost there! Beautiful!
When I started with them they were weak it seemed. Not heavy yielding at all and hard for me to keep healthy compared to photos. Today's auto is pretty much strong and going to be a frosty delight. Oh yeah, more to choose from and better genetics.Hey @StoneOtter and @InTheShed, are you guys saying that since you first started growing autos the genetics have actually advanced significantly, kind of across the spectrum? I wouldn’t kill for it - I like my seasons; in fact, you couldnt PAY ME to live in either California or Florida. The mid-Atlantic is nice because we get it all, but rarely get anything “major” from any type of weather-related event. The one downside is the Appalachian mountains often block a lot of snow in Maryland - which is SERIOUSLY overdue for a major snow storm. I actually did my own study of all the major snowstorms in Maryland for as long as they’ve been keeping records. I charted their frequency, duration, and where it originated … I found that - on AVERAGE - Maryland gets a major snowstorm approximately every 7-9 years, and our last one was the winter of 2009-2010. So yeah - we’re snow-starved in these parts!Everyone says that, lol. I need change man. The sameness of the weather gets to me here, no matter how sweet it is. We flew in a deiced plane from Baltimore in that storm! There for a wedding. You got almost 3 feet right? The groom was bummed he was honeymooning on a tropical island and missed all the to do. It was almost 70f the day before!I wouldn’t kill for it - I like my seasons; in fact, you couldnt PAY ME to live in either California or Florida. Yeah - that was the year of snowmageddon and also the longest federal shutdown in history. Some places got more than 4’ … and we were STILL seeing piles of snow in the larking lots in late March. We flew in a deiced plane from Baltimore in that storm! There for a wedding. Aw gee no thank you!I have plenty of snow for all of you.
Consider it an early Christmas present. It's currently all over my drive way, please come pick it up at your earliest convenience.
It's quite a rig Jon!How's the @Mars Hydro FC-E6500 doing?
I gotta say, I really like this light. The plants do very well under it. They go crazy in veg and it produces dense buds in flower. The plants obviously dig the spectrum. Very solid light for the money.
So here's a picture of the Mars Hydro rig first thing in the morning. The rig overnight currently contains
- 4 autos
- 3 coco photos
- 2 seedlings
Some of these plants are pretty big and wide. It's a daily challenge to get everyone in, AND under the bars, without the plants interfering with one another. This was last night's effort. The arrangement changes daily. Lol.
There's also a pic showing the outdoor environment in the rig at 5:30 am. It's about 8 degrees cooler outside, but the light and my nightly wrap keep the plants at around this temperature except for the four hours the light is out. Haven't had any temperature issues at all so far, even when it's gotten down to 51 overnight.
Have a great week everyone. My Eagles found a new way to blow a win. Another one.
