Jon’s 3 Autoflower - 3 Pounds Attempt Grow

SHOWTIME
Melinda has Taken the Stage

Ok @Rexer - this is it. We go with this, and any stretching they may or may not have left goes up. It’s not that I’m tired of tucking, I’ll go all damn month. Lmao. No, it’s cuz the bud closeup pictures. Those ain’t leaves anymore my friend. So my work is close to done.

So a question or two:
1. Undercarriage. I can do it whenever. Only thing under there is a few little shoots and a lot of fan leaves. I’d keep the fans personally and just remove the shoots.
Yup, snip the little shoots, after picking one or two to fill the middle. Keep as many fans as you can now. But eliminate that Larf.
What is the best (or your preferred) course of action at this point? I feel it hasn’t leafed up in the canopy as much as I thought it would, so I think I can use those energy factories for now, even getting far less light, no?
She's not done- she'll grow more above the net. Just focus on making sure there's not an abundance of little shoots. A few here and there is fine, it leaves no space where there's no buds...but too many isn't good. You've danced that song before, it's no different so follow your instincts- just remember she'll probably do another 5-12 inches at least above the net by the time she's done.

2. Canopy. Honestly, my preference is that it all stays. No colas to waste. At least I feel let it grow up a little if it’s going to and then sort it out? Does that sound good?
Sounds good, fill that space and follow your gut.

She's looking perfect!

Thank you @Rexer!
Ok so chop little flarf now? Or wait a few days and see who develops dominance and who doesn’t?

No problem! Whatever looks obvious that isn't going to be good- go ahead and get rid of.
If your not sure on one, leave it for up to till start of flower (but you can take it at anytime).

The principal is that by removing it as soon as you know it's not going to be a productive branch, the plant will spend that extra energy on the other bigger ones that you left (instead of trying to grow that insignificant one bigger). The sooner an unproductive branch is removed, the less energy is wasted by the plant, equaling more yield.

Muchas gracias senor! I understand the principle just wasn’t sure with the scrog. First shot with an auto, just making sure. Thanks! I got it.

Day 39

Overhead shot of her this morning. I tried to take @Rexer advice on the spacing and flarf removal. Here’s the result so far. Undercarriage is cleaned, we are at mid 70s and around 50% RH for now, the NextLight 420h is cranked, and so far so good. Day 39….yeah right. Auto. Right. What day is this photo scrog on really, and why are you trying to pass off a photo for an auto?

:cheesygrinsmiley:  :cheesygrinsmiley:  :cheesygrinsmiley:  :cheesygrinsmiley: :cheesygrinsmiley: :cheesygrinsmiley: :woohoo:

Seeds could be just mislabeled :laughtwo: (but probably more related to your damn coco)...
  Thanks @Azimuth, I needed that. Outside of the journal I’m going through a rough time right now. I feel bad I haven’t been attentive to others journals but I’m being forced into scramble mode. Enough said. I’ll be back to myself soon enough. And btw - you gotta give props to the XXL genetics too, no?

All that said, you see what I see right? This ain’t no pound scrog. I can already see it’s not. Depends on what the buds do of course, but I believe we’re looking at maybe a 10-12 ounce scrog. (Rare early prediction!). I’m not convinced that I can’t outyield a scrog all elements being identical with Jon Training. We’ll see. Melissa and Medusa may be in make up mode.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Here's hoping things turn for you soon! :Namaste:

It’s so funny how often I try something, many times something people either say not to do or can’t be done, and find that you actually can. Today’s example is the idea of evening out your scrog with supports from underneath. “You can’t do that once it’s grown out because of the screen.” Well….yes you can. You may have to move the corners up or down a bit and be careful with branches that are pretty stiff by now, and you have to pick your spots carefully…but it can be done. Here’s proof - I evened out the right side of the scrog (compared to the left side) using just the bamboo sticks you see in the pictures. Might not look like much but it’s way improved. Heh.

Nice Jon, sometimes you just have to try different things that’s how new techniques are developed and even new technologies

Happy Birthday Jerry Garcia! You remain the only person I never met who almost 30 years later I still miss enough to get teary eyed. Hope the other players can keep up with you up there.

You want true genius? Take about 12 minutes out of your life, and crank this up LOUD on your best speakers. There are two jams in this song. Jerry is improving both of them live on the fly. I was lucky enough to be at the Garden for this. This song encapsulates everything that Jerry was. The second jam when he really gets cooking will leave you in a puddle on the floor.

Day 9

So these girls are about to take off. A bit tricky getting them started in the final pots, but we’re there and ready to rock.

Some stats:
Feed: began week 1 of the @Prescription Blend feed chart today, a little earlier than I normally would.
Environment: what you see is where I want them. This is done with one AC unit on high cool, one on high fan only, and my dehumidifier set to 60%. All of that balances against the weather and gives me this. The RH is easily tweaked by 3-5 % per notch using the 8-speed exhaust from AC Infinity. Currently on level 2.

So far so good.

Wow. I checked on the lady and damn if all of a sudden it appears we’re in full flower mode!

I knew it would be any moment!

Now you're gonna see an explosion of growth :cool:Enjoy a couple of days with no trimming, then trim just a bit- focusing again on small larfy shoots.

But for now: Time to let the colas rise up!

If you don't reach your goal it won't be for lack of trying.

Hiya @Rexer - hope Auto Scrog Sensei is well. I have a question. See the pictures below. Our first cola has reached the upper screen. Her sister, your first node branch cola, is directly to her right and next up. So I guess at this point I’m just gonna see how far over they go? Wait a day or two before assessment/action? What’s your take, please?

Thank you! :adore:

Edit: would your “cover the bud from getting light” trick work here?
