Jon’s 3 Autoflower - 3 Pounds Attempt Grow

You could remove a few leaves. Leave the outter leaves, but take from the inside (never snipp both in & out unless absolutely necessary).

As always, it's hard for me to visualize, so take this as a suggestion only. The red dots are possible leaves for defoliation. They're blocking a bit of light, but you want to remove where possible to help keep the veg hormones going.
The lower left red dot is for the Leaf hidden on the far side of the cola.
If it looks fine with you, let them be.
Remember, we want to target a few leaves each day, when possible at this point. She should start pushing put loads of foliage soon.

It also looks like one branch is almost ready to be moved?
Thanks! Yes and that branch got moved. They stretch fast. I watch like a hawk. As far as defoliation, you see pre leaf tuck only. Post leaf tuck and every emerging everything gets light. I prefer to keep all the leaves for as long as possible. But when they do need removed, yes, as you suggest. Also yes that it gets to the point of a few every day. Did with Titan. Just not there quite yet. A few days. At that point I will also clean below.

Good looking girls Jon! I’ve been lurking around & find this quite interesting & innovative. I think you’ll find a way to do it - determination goes a long way!

I named my girls for a past grow.
Myrtle, Lucy, Sadie & Bernice. They were a bunch of bimbos, so I killed ‘em… ;->

SOLD @Vegan4life ! Well done! So which one is Melissa? The Forbidden Runtz or the Watermelon WeddingCake?

That gives us Melinda and Melissa. Should be fun for me posting baked.
My favorite song…

I just now saw the title of this journal, and wow your goal is 3lbs for this one? That's a hefty goal amigo
That's why he is in coco.
If anyone can do it my money is on @Jon :thumb:
Hope your good Mr C. :ciao:

Stay safe

If by hefty you mean impossible, yes, I know.

It’s about the journey. Therein lies the success.

Day 34

Sorry, I know, multiple posts in the same day, but in coco and in the stretch, things move lightning fast here now. The growth rate is incredible. I can barely keep up.

So @Rexer, one thing I’m finding is that the branches really want to stiffen quickly. Faster than they did with Titan. And I actually used less MSA this time! As such, I’m finding it prudent to use the screen to hold down branches that are not yet to the next string so are just growing up. I’m also beginning to supercrop a few outer branches to head where I need, a slow process over several days. I think I got this. Based on @Emilya version of this plant I get somewhere around 9-10 days of stretch. Think that’ll do it? Oh yeah, I took four or five leaves too. Better?

Here’s a couple pics of ends held down and the plant as a whole from top and side.

Fun but True Edit: any work you see in the back left corner has been done with me using a bamboo stick like a chimpanzee fishing termites from a mound. I can’t reach it with my hands.

I mean look at this thing. Now take the goal out of the equation. If that’s the case I’m looking at this AUTO and I’m saying “Christ, an auto that can come close to filling a 3x3 scrog (or can in more experienced hands).” You know? So a pound or not, this is one HELL of an auto.

Day 35

The Growbuds fan is now in play. This fan is amazing. Very powerful. Awesome and very fast 90 degree oscillation, and 120 degrees of north south adjustable potential, almost 100 degrees of which still allows for the oscillation. Super solid where it grabs the post. Great fan, my best for small fans. I got two more and have three now. Best $100 I’ve spent in a while.

Here’s the fan and Melinda.

Looks great Jon!
That feeling of doubt that she's going to fill much of the net?
I get that everytime. In fact, even my current crop makes me feel like that.

But so far, every plant makes the net...almost. I think I've had two get stunted and not make it. The fact yours is that close to it already is a great sign.

If you think a branch will break going a square over, you've got a few options.

Supercrop, or similar by softening the bend, and guiding where it's going.

Or if you think you're going to snap a branch, let it go through. Sometimes a move from one square to another can be a day or two process, but it's not worth snapping a branch.

If you have a branch that's going to break and you need to let it through....you may want to consider pinching that cola, to help reduce its dominance.
Pinching is essentially a supercrop, without the bend. It's about gently (or as gently as can be done), softening the spot, until you get that "pop". That branch will heal before growing much further out, buying a day or two. I've had branches that I've pinched numerous times, and gotten knuckles as thanks. It basically is about slowing down the growth of that branch to give the others a chance to catch up.
But your canopy looks flat as a table :thumb: .
Time to start letting some of the middle fill in when you see a desired branches coming up to the middle.

You're doing an awesome job Jon!

Thanks so much for the detailed feedback @Rexer, much appreciated. The kind words as well. Yup. The middle: it’s better than it looks. The shoots are there already they just have to get there and join the party. They’ll be okay. With every leaf that emerges instead of a cotton ball my confidence grows. It’ll be relatively filled. She’s very healthy thanks to @Prescription Blend nutrients.

@Rexer - here’s the middle: see what I mean? I think it’ll be okay.

Jon, that middle looks perfect- just as I thought. Keeping and getting the middle to look like that isn't always easy.

Yours is lookin fantastic.
I think your in for one beautiful harvest.
The easier part is just around the corner.
Once she's as stretched as far as you can fill that net, you'll have a bit of a break.

Yup. I like this part. This is where you learn and get good.
