Jon’s 3 Autoflower - 3 Pounds Attempt Grow

Hey @Rexer, this is your branch. You said you were curious what happens with the one first node branch I kept. This is that branch. Back left corner. I’m hoping she gives me another half inch so I can get to that very corner behind her. But now you have a reference point.

Edit: I know, I know…that’s what she said.

Awesome!
Now stick a tag on it and write: "weigh this branch for Rexer at harvest "

: I know, I know…that’s what she said.

Heck @Rexer, if you liked that you’re gonna LOVE this.

What, a plain old auto scrog in a 3x3 and in a 7 of coco isn’t innovative enough for you guys? Fair enough. I’m working on it. Here’s a couple:

- the green plastic wire is keeping that branch down to support the supercropping - look back on the branch and you’ll see my pinch.

- the new use for an everyday item, already for hanging buds my single greatest contribution here as it gets no better, the SHOWER RING can also be used for this! And yes, I am patting myself on the back just a tad for this one.

She looks perfect!
Shower rings eh? I like that! I'll have to remember to pick some up, the best part will be Mrs. Rex's reaction when I toss them in the cart
Cheap as hell, multiple uses, easily reusable forever, hang buds quickly and easily, strong enough to hold up your light (the 420h is held with them)….

Lemme know if there’s a downside I’m missing.

Heh.

Day 36

If you’d have said you can fill a net with an auto in 36 days in a 3x3 when the net is a full 16” above the pot, I’d have been dubious. But here we are. Close to filled. Heh.

Day 37

Really only 37 days to this?? I’m believing more in the XXL genetics with each passing day. This is two in a row that stay in veg/stretch basically forever in auto time. Anyone could have filled this screen with this plant. We have a few spaces left in the near right corner, we’ll see if we get there. Every time I think I see budlets they turn out to be leaves, lol! So maybe, but she’s relatively filled
regardless. I’m in supercrop to round out the center mode now.

I have said no amendments with @Prescription Blend nutes. That’s not quite accurate. I used two so far - the Fox Farms Flowers Kiss for her foliar feeds (now done) and the Fox Farms Microbe Brew, which I give once a week. Obviously CalMag too with every bit of water.

A couple scrog tricks for you junkies….

1. Store bought nets blow, as we have already established. This is one way to improve them.

2. This is simply a bamboo stick, but it’s woven above and below some lines to hold it in place. This allowed me to get the entire back line on the back side of the net, as the goal is to truly fill this thing.

3. What’s left to fill, the only empty spot left.

I like your use of the bamboo to cut the square size down a bit and give you better training options. :welldone:
Thanks although it actually extends the square. This keeps them flat all the way about which allows them to reach the next line. The point is to extend. But yes it definitely increases your options. Using it I have my back line beyond the net. These will be too, at least the front one.

@Jon
Looks awesome.

I've been intrigued for awhile. 3lb plant omg. Fingers crossed

I have heard of some day yields.

So I was caught by your thread some time ago.

I went to the dispensary yesterday to pick up some blubbery muffin, mmmmm.

This old hippie was showing off his plant he supposedly just cut down. Bragging about 4.5lb yield, indoor plant. I laughed at him, it pissed him off. I asked him many questions as we all would. He couldn't answer shit.

How do you brag about a monster grow, but can't answer basic questions?

I never doubted the net would get filled. You're doing awesome Jon, and it's just about time to take a step back and let her through the net.

Once that happens, just let her go.
You can also do leaf blocking. It's the same principle as leaf tucking, except instead of hiding the leaf, you place it over the spot you want to slow growth on.

If one branch seems to be getting to far ahead you can pinch it, but you shouldn't have to much issues there, she's beautiful!

Yeah there's a few vendors that sell kinda crappy nets, with squares that are too big (IMO). But there are a few that sell ones with smaller squares....

So, one of my outdoor plants got caught in a nasty wind storm the other night. Snapped a huge branch off her...just as I was about to put a net on her. Wish I had thought ahead about storms! I may have to build a greenhouse like @Bill284 Next spring.

Lol! Thanks for following @OGpapa - I honestly did not do this just to attract attention. (Not saying you’re saying that, lol). Which IS to say that if I didn’t honestly believe I have at least a snowball’s chance in hell, I wouldn’t be doing this. Only person I’m trying to prove something to is me,, but yeah, I figure, reach for the stars and maybe you’ll get the moon! Well, as I am just about to post, it’s showtime.

Ouch @Rexer, that sucks, been there on a much smaller scale. I hate that lesson. Maybe some support from beneath?

Thanks so much for your confidence and guidance. It is greatly appreciated Auto Scrog Sensei.

So note the next post….

SHOWTIME
Melinda has Taken the Stage

Ok @Rexer - this is it. We go with this, and any stretching they may or may not have left goes up. It’s not that I’m tired of tucking, I’ll go all damn month. Lmao. No, it’s cuz the bud closeup pictures. Those ain’t leaves anymore my friend. So my work is close to done.

So a question or two:
1. Undercarriage. I can do it whenever. Only thing under there is a few little shoots and a lot of fan leaves. I’d keep the fans personally and just remove the shoots. What is the best (or your preferred) course of action at this point? I feel it hasn’t leafed up in the canopy as much as I thought it would, so I think I can use those energy factories for now, even getting far less light, no?
2. Canopy. Honestly, my preference is that it all stays. No colas to waste. At least I feel let it grow up a little if it’s going to and then sort it out? Does that sound good?

Thanks so much Rex! Here’s the top, bottom, and buds.
