Jon’s 3 Autoflower - 3 Pounds Attempt Grow

Watermelon WeddingCake

Guess who just joined the party?

Same routine as planting the Forbidden Runtz.

Now we wait. I bet not long.

Shot of the WWC water pot and the environment for the seedlings.

Awesome thanks. What about light? How do you handle that with autos?
I did push it a bit last time, plants were 20 - 24" away from the bulb.

100% power from first week of transplant. 18/6. Some minor foxtails which is fine !

Four curved sections that make up a 36" circle 4' high. That was for the Early Miss grow with a wing reflector.

For my auto's (below) I added four 14" wide sections for roughly a 4' x 4' area. Also added the parabolic reflector and lined the panels with tin foil. Worked so well I would forget to rotate the plants ;)

Banana Sherbet
Day 32

Happiness is a successful surgery and a pistil free auto on day 32. This branch would be wilted, dark green, and dying by now if my surgery on the break didn’t work. Doesn’t even appear to have slowed her down. Whoo hoo.

Also took the first node branch that wasn’t going to make the screen. The other node 1 branch is already there and pictured.

Partly why I always remove nodes 1 & 2. Only 3 & 4 are left after topping.

Though I fully admit I'm curious as to what that one branch will produce.

Glad to see she healed up that break nicely!

Between some water, some light pressure, and some gentle squeezing we got the seed and the seed coat off!

Since they’re both up and open now we’re gonna call today day 1.

Time for Names!

Anyone who wishes to play along at home, I like to name my plants, and often toss it to you guys for input

I named the Banana Sherbet. She is Melinda.

The Watermelon WeddingCake and Forbidden Runtz both need names.

I’m not as cool as @StoneOtter, so sorry, no super cool naming poll. But if you would like to put a name out please do!

Thanks!

Watering the Pyramid Pot (non water pot - the Fobidden Runtz)

I’ve been thinking about the best way to water this pot so as to best achieve our goal. It won’t work quite the same way I normally do it (see @Emilya) I don’t think, at least not as effectively. I’m going to tweak her methodology so it’ll end up kind of like a combo of Emilya and @Bill284 watering philosophies.

We have two goals with the watering here rather than the usual one. Normally I have one goal: build the roots out wide. Indeed, that is still one of our goals. But with this setup we have the added goal of specifically growing that tap root all the way down ASAP. Only watering the sides won’t particularly help that tap root.

So I’m going to water using two-part, alternating targeting. In the morning I’ll water the outside only. Then a couple hours later I’ll water straight down the middle of the stem to feed the tap root.

Simple as that I think. That should keep us going with basically two root zones in play for a while. When she gets her feeders into the lower pot, the watering will be the same, but we will also water to the outside of the air pot to grow the roots wide in the lower pot.

God, let it be that (relatively) easy. Lmao!

Criticism/critique/opinions/you’re stupids are all welcome and encouraged please!

The only thing you can do is try it.
It's not like there is an instruction manual for that pot.
Should be interesting.
Hope your good today Amigo.:ciao:

Stay safe
