Jandre2k3's Cardboard Flower Box - Test 4: ScrOG

Countdown to HPS Lights On: T minus 3 days and counting. After that 1/4 strength nutes in 2 days. Using last season's bulb until I see 2 full pairs, then, I will change the bulb out for a brand new one... I fear a brand new 400w HPS will be too strong, because I cannot raise it high enough off the tops. I have 22" headroom. 8" if fine for mature plants, but I'm not sure about seedlings. so I'll turn it on with last season's bulb until I'm sure they can handle the full strength at 20", then I'll slowly move it down to 8" at time of flower.

Made the shift from dome to bins today.

OK! READY to go into flower.....you didn't say that. So there!:high-five:
Forget it anyway, not important.

hehe, ready to flower is showing preflowers(for me anyway). That doesn't mean that I'm actually going to flower them, but I want them as close as possible to flowering before I switch. That will also let me remove, and sequester males.

I picture some stoner trying to tip it and shake that one thats "just barely hangin' on the edge"...
hey JD =)
sorry its been a while, life got a bit crazy and i fell behind on all my regular journals =(
back with you now tho boss and looking forward to catching up on this one =D

GB! Welcome! Take your time catching up, this one has slowed to a crawl waiting on seedlings.

HPS Lights on this morning at 12:30am. They will remain on until the end of the normal lights-off period, and pick up GLR from tonight at lights-on. These are still fairly young seedlings, so I will wait to change out the bulb to the new one for a few days to a week. That all depends on how they react to the much stronger light I am giving them.

Careful.......but you always are! Well, most of the time.

Yo Jandre!! Been gone for a bit my friend, just found your new journal. Will catch up soon, hope you are well. Great to see your new journal, hope you dont mind me tagging along.

Pay no attention to the one in soil. I am hardening some seedlings for a grower buddy. Where he lives it is still too cold to put them out, so I'm starting them indoors for him.

Found some wood pieces we had collected on our camping trips that we thought were cool. We finally found a good use for them, huh?

I'm trying to leave the soil open for mosses, and plants, but increase the usable space for the frogs.

So I'm thinking that a medium sized tropical in the soil will make a nice vertical climb. Ground cover vines for the rest of the soil will really fill it in. In the net cups on the left: Top will have a moss that likes to cling, and likes medium light and water, a cool bromeliad in the bottom cup, and maybe a good water lover in the middle one, Artillery, or pothos should work pretty well, there...

Now in the right net cup, I was wanting to put a really good creeper to grow down the vine, and up accross to the other side.

Whatcha think?

that is so cool!
I am very late to the party but glad I got here Jandre.
the one piece of wood looks like some ancient reptilian creature.
very cool indeed.

I know there is a grow going here too, but that vivarium is cool! :bravo:

I'm guessing this is not your first foray into keeping frogs? I've kept reptiles in the past, but never tried any amphibians. I like your little project though. I always grew plants in the terrariums for the lizards and snakes, but I never had a waterfall! :rocker:

I'm like BID though. Already wayyyy too many projects on the list. For now I'll also have to live vicariously through you. Thanks :)

Do you have a revised ETA on the new residents?

From when the plants go in, it will be roughly 60-75 days. I want to grow the plants in, and get them established before introducing the froglets, to give them a nice cushion of time to put down good roots, and get a good top of new growth before they get hopped, and pooped on.

I'm just waiting on plant availability, right now.
