Jack Herer & Panama Red In Doc's Hi Brix

Its funny, 20 years ago when I used to grow, I never even considered humidity and even heat or ac, always fans. My stuff came out great, before we had these nice fancy nutrients I used fertilizer for African violets. Then I take a 15 year break and come back to this, what a culture shock. Its like I'm starting from the beginning again and having to learn from the beginning. Very humbling..

It was 30 years ago for me - the 80s in a barn - Miracle Grow and RapidGro under metal halides.

The best part about growing in this century is having everyone else to talk about stuff with. :high-five:

20 years ago, the strain selection was far less hybridized and strains grew much hardier compared to the explosion of crazy hybids we see today.

Were you growing in a different location back then?

No more than 15 miles away, I always grew white widow and jack herer, hardy strains, my jack herer I'm growing now has no issues so I agree that the strains these days are temperamental

Here's a pic of the male clone I pulled out, not even a nub starting, well see, I upped humidity a bit more

Everyone is running hydro....so strains that do well with a bunch of salts do very well in hydro....and that doesn't necessarily translate into living soil.

One thing is for sure: if you find strains that love this soil, they'll out perform anything else, no matter which rapper or hiphop artist has a new strain out.

Maybe they should stick with strains from country singers like Willie nelson:rofl:
By the way, are you still growing that one ?

I'm going to
pop more seeds of this panama as well as some blueberry, I'm determined to get it down. Also the flower room is looking nice, that jack herer is a short bush, time to thin it. Pics tomorrow

Wow! They love your bloom room for sure. They look great!

I'd say you're in the window for Cat Drench. Do it between now and a week from now. I'd do it the next watering. They're looking fit and perky.

:cheer:

The super drench really made them take off. I'm due for a watering in a day or two, I'll do the cat drench then. Its nice having the enviorment dialed in, humidity is steady around 52. The difference between night and day temp could be better, I'm staying at around 72 for night and 76-82 day. A bit of fluxuation but I'll take it..

Those are solid numbers. They'll do great. Make sure they get lots of fresh air or a C02 injection. They're gonna be heavy breathers.

I've been going back and forth on the co2 thing, the exhaust fan cycles about every 10 minutes for a minute or two, I've been concerned about weather they need more air coming in.
I'm considering a supplemental co2 bucket but not sure how well it works

Just did the cat drench and I'm starting to realize I have too many plants in that tent, I'm like a bull in a China shop trying to water the one in the far corner. My OG and blue dream are 2 inches from my light and apparently really loving this soil.

I forgot to add that I added the recharge today as well

My garden has gotten to the point of being unmanagable. I guess things can be worse, last time I put so many plants in one tent that's for sure

Are you using the newer formula of the kit or the older one? If you are using the newer formula (which has been around for about a year at this point I feel) then Doc suggests a super drench instead of epsom salts.

Yeah, its the newer kit. I'll wait a bit and see if it gets worse, but I'll do another super drench on the next transplant drench. Thanks for the info
