InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Top of the page Friday update on the Purple Ghost Candy from @SeedsMan!

Today (day 45) there are nine nodes on the plant and it's completely recovered from the upcan, so it was time to give it the old snipperoo.

Here it was before the scissors came out:

It's got a full nine nodes and working on number ten:

Off with its head!

Here's the top:

And now that the idea is to get the lowers to grow up to the canopy, it was time to make sure nothing slowed them down, like this undergrowth:

Any lower branch (not the top three) that had growth along its length got it removed. I don't want my lowers growing lowers, only end flowers. Here are the two lowest nodes cleaned (along with some thrip damage):

And this is what came of in its entirety:

It doesn't look like much but the plant won't waste any energy making those bigger.

The CapJunky isn't as tall so I'm going to wait a little longer before I top that one.

:thanks: for following along with this Seedsman comparative grow!

Very good information Shedster thank you 🙏. Anyone who is starting a plant needs to know how to get the best from it. CL🍀 :thumb::thanks:

Highya ITS,

Great chronological presentation! Pictures are great, more than a thousand words each!! That's pretty much how I did it this year. Topped 3 different ladies around nine or tenth node, Hoping to get shorter side branches because of the severe weather we've been getting mid Sept. to mid Oct. And cleaning all the popcorn! Textbook. Good job! Happy Smokin'

Thanks Ke0ncp! Feel free to ask any questions I didn't answer. :)
Nicely done as usual. Thank you for showing me how it is done. 🍋
Thank you Keith! I'll try to show and explain each step along the way as well.

Just trying to lay out my approach to growing, and getting to that #nolarf goal at harvest!

Thanks Bode! Sometimes it's hard to get clear pics that show what I'm doing under the canopy, but this one was pretty simple. :thumb:

Nice top n trim Shed! She's ready to rock!

Happy Monday everyone, and here is today's update on the Purple Ghost Candy from Seedsman!

It was looking a bit droopy last week, which previously meant it needed transplanting, so I did exactly that on Friday (day 39). Here it was before the deed:

Tons of happy white roots, which I tore up before replanting it in new Happy Frog soil:

I didn't want to get up and grab a knife to neatly score it in case you're wondering. :)

And here it is after the move:

And the following day:

Still not happy but no worse for wear. It's actually got a few large fans tucked down to get the lowers some better sunlight, but I figure it might take a week to really recover from the root ripping, and by that time it will be ready for topping. Stay tuned for that!

Thanks for reading, and look out below...
Looking good there, my friend! :thumb:

Ditto here! I like to see keeping the leaves like this as I'm just not a big fan of "lolly popping".

And :thanks: @InTheShed for sharing this. I didn't fully realize the benefits of doing this... until now with your expert instructions. I'll be doing this in my garden soon. Again, thank you. :thumb:

I almost always lollipop my plants about a week before flip to move all growth to the top, so be prepared for that! 🎢
