InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

WOW Good to see the seeds open up in 24 hrs , nice tutor you may want to add the reason for leaving the stem/stalk 1/2-1" long above the first cut . I didnt know and was told a few years a go and have had the stem split before = healing takes time (wasted) That five killer cookies was a bomb of a plant !!

Here's a quickie update on the successful Candida germination test.

Last night I had a curl of green coming through the soil, and I took this picture:

Lots of winged bugs that look like thrips on the soil. This morning the seedling was up:

WTF is up with all those bugs eating my hours-old sprout? This soil was from a bag of FFOF (that sits covered along the side of the house) that was left over from the winter grow. Crazy! I'll dump a bunch of DE in the bag and close it up again to see if that helps in there.

The other split seed is making its way to the surface:

And then I sprayed them down with neem oil. This will be a great test to see if neem oil is safe for brand new seedlings. These plants may not live long, but they'll have served a useful purpose in their short lives.

Some lovely pruning posts that you've done Shed. I was stunned at the pile of foliage you took off the Candida mother and she's looking great and responding well to the PM oil treatment.
Nice to see pics of the 5 killer cookies again, wow, what a spear heavy striking looking plant she was!
I must say, well done too on the POTM, that is a really lovely picture.
Thanks Stunger! I do thin pretty heavily when I have to, but so far I've had good luck with them bushing right back up again. And I don't think I'll ever have another plant close to the 5KC, especially not that kind of weight. Thanks goes out to Carmen for the SWICK idea!
It's lovely to see the 5KC again. What a plant!
IKR? SWICK/Hempy, for all the trouble I had with it, came through in the end. Enough to do it again? Not sure on that!
Your seeds are baking as we speak Sir. A month to ripen and a month to rest and you can grow one if you want. have a winning day!
:thanks: One of those will be in line for next summer's grow!

Thanks sb! And I definitely should have mentioned the stem length when I topped it.

For those who aren't aware, whenever possible it's best to leave a longer stem when you top a plant, as that bit (called the "double H stump" from @Heavenly Hybrid's post → here), can prevent the trunk from splitting downward as the plant gets bigger.

Oh, I also wanted to give a huge shout-out to the good folks at @Airvape! You may recall my wife raving about the Legacy Pro flower vape that I won for 2023 MOTY, so you can imagine her dismay when it stopped working and showed a "Sensor Error" on the display and wouldn't heat.

I sent a PM to Airvape and they replied within 24 hours saying that I should email their customer support team for a replacement. They processed that really quickly and sent me a brand new one for only a $9.99 shipping charge.

That's some excellent customer service there for a product I didn't even buy to begin with.

A big :thanks: to Airvape for their great product, product support, and site sponsorship! :thumb:

Thanks for sharing your experience with us about this great Sponsor. CL🍀 :thanks:

Love my airvape :) glad to see they reacted, and correctly, as fast as they did! That kind of service goes a long way in my book

One last point: thinning after stretch for #nolarf is much more challenging in a plant with a true sativa flower structure. Some of those plants are all larf!
That's a lot of flower... and big ones too!!! Wow!

Looks like good size increases, all the same.

So maybe not getting my hopes up on my sativas?

One of the aforementioned #alllarf sativas. Heheh, just had to post it.:laughtwo:

Anyone ever grown the Freakshow strain?

Here is the Candida germination test this morning after I put a layer of DE on top of the soil. I know it doesn't work when it's wet but it is a physical barrier, and if it dries in the sun clouds today it will also become effective to shred the pests:

On the plus side, no major damage from the neem spray. The cots on the left one don't look happy but they were also being eaten as they emerged, so it's hard to tell what caused the yellowing. Still, I'll let them grow for a while to see how they do.

Definitely keeping the end user happy, that's for sure!

Great pics, thanks Graytail! What was it, and is there any trimming involved at all or just bucking them from the stems when they're dried?

That one reminds me of @Arctic Bowl's :rip: Malawi but his was smaller.
Reminds me of Nevilles Haze. We really enjoyed that one! Very alien looking! but smokes like a dream!
Loved that Neville, and it loved you once you warmed the place up for it!
I was petrified growing similar! Smoked like the best weed I ever grew! Folks keep on asking for me to grow it again matter of fact!
Noice! Since I have four true sativas arriving later this year from @Table Mountain Sativa Co, I hope I can get similar results. 🤞
Anyone ever grown the Freakshow strain?
 Looks like a budrot magnet! I'd never try that if I didn't live in the desert.
Freaky alright! Na ah.
Srsly, pass!
That plant resembles a willow tree!
I was thinking the same thing when I saw that pic!

This one wasn't mine - I saw the pics on IC  and grabbed 'em. It's a Thai leaning Destroyer pheno.

There were probably a bunch of trichs all down the little stems, so I'd probably smoke all of it. :p

(But there might be something wrong with me - caveat emptor - etc)
