InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Beautiful shedster! Love the moot measurements :laughtwo:

That solo cup candida is a wonderful exampl of just hw much rootboundedness a plant can tolerate and still be absolutley fine - excellent work keeping it thriving and i hope you find a good home for it!

rest of the garden looks totally
happy,healthy, and well groomed!
:high-five:

nice cricketing parlance....
a Carnival
Jelly belly! I have a Carnival seed I’ve been trying to fit in to a grow for 2 years! Maybe this year will be the one
grown a Carnival yet?
Both Graytail and Sweetsue hold Carnival as their favourite toke and claim tht little comes close to it’s unique and uplifting character. Gray has been trying to figure out it’s genetics. Not sure where he’s up to w that, but he has sampled a very good many Sativas in his times and continues to do so and Carnival remains in the top few AFAIK and that’s a pretty good ad for it.

Oh and SweetSue keeps a Carnival thread...

I'll get a full-plant pic tomorrow so you can really see how happy it is!

Nothing I like better than hearing two crickets at the same time.

Great news!

I've been waiting for that since yesterday...

I think I might make another batch of gummies. I still have about 4dz left of the last batch, but have the itch to experiment with flavor and strength.

Not sure if I should use some new trim and make new oil, or just use the same oil from the green crack.

Then of course there is the flavor choice. I was thinking lemon jello, lemon juice, and cake batter flavor extract.

We’ll see how motivated I get later I guess.

Your salve sounds like "da balm"...;)

Something similar sells for $2 per ml at the dispensary (30ml/$60),but I'll bet yours works better!
So,using your recipe in the salve link, go with 50g beeswax, instead of 25g,and everything else is the same?
I may make some up for Mrs.C.- I've got a couple of big bags of trim just sitting there...and she's got plenty of aches and pains....

The salve isn't for the aches and pains. That's what the topical pain oil is for. You can use buds or trim (you need a lot more trim but it's definitely usable).

The salve is made from the good stuff in the fans, stems, and roots. I haven't found my topical pain oil (high THC) does close to the same thing as the low/no THC salve. I have everything from the plant (that isn't buds) air dried and placed in open boxes, waiting for the next batch.

What a wonderful mixed bag of an update!

I’m totally interested in the balms! I’ve never found Lakota or A535 to be very effective for pain and as far as mosquitos man camping in northern Ontario sometimes I get bites that swell up to the size of a toonie eh!

You say the 15ml one is less effective for pain than the stem/fan leaf one thought? I have a bag of fans and sugars I could use and I could pull my root balls out of the yard bag yet.

Here is the Monday update with some odds and ends.

First, I decided to time how long it took to make 70 capsules with my CBD oil. I know that some folks use capsule holders (and some that put the lids on as well), but I use a 1x4 with drilled spots for 35 caps.

I made two sets, for a total of 70 capsules:

This is how long it took, from opening and placing the capsules in the board, filling them, closing them up, and repeating the process:

Anyone with a capsule tray know how long their process takes?

Next up is another pitch for my skin salve. Lots of folks make topical pain oil, but this salve is incredibly powerful stuff. Let me tell you a story:

I took my dog out for a long walk on Saturday night, and at one point I doubled back 20 feet to look at something that caught my eye. She did not like having to turn around and started jumping and biting at my arm (like a non-threatening version of those police-dog training videos!). In the process, she managed to wrap the leash around my legs. I went to grab the flat retractable to keep her from making another loop and she took off, dragging the fabric though my fingers.

It was painful AF, and even after putting ice on it when I got home, I could see a big blister forming. When I tried to go to sleep, I had sharp stabbing pains in that finger that made me jump out of bed. Off I went to the fridge for the skin salve, which works on burns, hives, bites, stings, and abrasions. I put it on the blister and covered it with a band-aid, and within two minutes had no pain and fell right to sleep.

This is what it looked like on Sunday morning:

I put the salve on twice a day and I don't even notice the blister. Considering it's made with the parts of the plant we normally throw away, it's definitely worth doing.

Also, I upped the beeswax to 50g/cup yesterday and it seems stable at temps in the mid-high 60s. We'll see how it does as the weather gets warmer. Once I get a final number I'll have the mods edit my salve post, where I used only 25g/cup and had to keep it in the fridge.

Moving on, I dropped a Carnival seed and two AF-47's last night, and they're on the heating pad with the clones in a box for darkness. I soak them in 50/50 H2O2/water for 20 minutes and then move them to distilled water.

As I mentioned yesterday, today is flip day 1 for the winter three, so let's see how the temp was overnight in the shed:

:brrrr:

And last for the day, this is a record of the heights of each of the plants this morning, to keep track of stretch:
Golden Tiger - 28"
Fruit Punch - 25"
Purple Skunk Krush - 23"

Of course, there will be tying and supercropping, so it's not like we'll ever know how tall they would have gotten if I left them alone, therefore none of these measurements matter!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Stay safe out there and cover your mouth when you sneeze! :ciao:
I have a tray and I will be making some up as soon as the oil finishes tomorrow. I am on the first 8 hour cycle now, I just decarded and put it in the MBM2 so I will know later tomorrow how long it takes me to do 70 caps. I will time it and report back. It will probably take close to the same time the only difference is I will be using a try and you used a drilled board. I doubt I can do it any quicker but I will let you know.

Thanks PCa! I just wonder how much time is saved using one of those capsule trays.

Super(crop) Tuesday update! Time to tame the leaders on the Golden Tiger, day 81/flip day 2:

Of course I split one!

Got the shed temps a bit higher by making sure the window in the door was closed  :

And as promised yesterday, here is the rootbound Candida in the solo cup:

That's it for me! Go vote if you're in one of the Super Tuesday states :flag:

Hey goofy, it reads "remove" for a reason!

Granted I have no idea what that reason may be, but I don't work for ThermPro!

(mine is the same way,)

For the record, your shed temps are the same as my in a tent basement temps. Albeit with a little higher lows of 60 F.

Exactly and if you leave it on, then 2 years later you’ve got another new one :laughtwo:

True to my form, I wonder about cleaning the wood recesses effectively... :hmmmm:

I left it on because I wrote "72" on the plastic when I got it and salt-tested it. I'd feel bad writing on the actual screen!

What I don't know is how long it takes to drop from the high to the low, and I can't see spending the money on one of those sensors that tracks temps over time :).

From the failing NY Times in 1993 (it probably wasn't failing then ;)), but I don't wood has changed much since then:
"When contaminated boards were left unwashed overnight at room temperature, bacterial counts increased on the plastic, but none of the organisms could be recovered from the wooden boards the next morning."
