InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Quick Thursday update so we don't go too long without something for Norcali to do.

As I mentioned, the Purple Skunk Krush is still alive, and it is no more specific about what sex it is than it was two weeks ago! Here it is on day 73:

So I topped it by about 6":

I will be stripping this weekend and flipping early next week, as I am sure the Golden Tiger is going to be out of control by the time it stretches. So I'm thinking that the Fruit Punch and PSK will go in the tent at night, and the GT will have the whole shed to spread out in. Gonna be fun schlepping that around in flower.

I was warned though.

Finally, this spider lives between my kitchen window and the screen. I have no idea what it eats because we never open that window in the winter. It's about an inch long from stem to stern.

Everything is getting 4.5g/gallon MC, and I'll get pics of the whole grow this weekend. Cuttings are not dead.

That's what I've got today!

Sharpest tool intheShed
Clever!
Good info Iif I ever want to give soil a try. Thanks!
Any medium that is buffered with lime (or less often calcium) does not require pH'ing of nute water.
What is the best way to clean fabric pots after a grow? I thought about taking them to a laundromat but not sure how they would handle the machine cycles.
I hose them off and put them in the washing machine.
I used the laundromat once,..now I just turn them inside out, put them over a bucket and pressure wash them at home.
Thanks h00k!
I pre clean/scrape with a stiff brush and put em in the washer.
I worry the stiff brush may wear them out faster.
hitting them with a stiff brush first

without putting the bag through unnecessary wear.

you got a new job at the bunny ranch Shed ?
Not pretty enough. :(

It's what's for dinner. :)

Always glad to have you here Norcali. Sunday update with pics coming soon!

Let me start with a big "Congratulations" to the OTM winners this month:
@Virgin ground for always being herself.
@Backlipslide for coming through with a 2-fer sweep in the plant categories after his disappointing loss a few months back.
@Amy Gardner for yet another wonderful PhOTM, making the sweetest lemonade out of some of the sourest lemons.

And here is the Sunday update!

Let's start with a family portrait:

And in case you're wondering about the yellowing leaves on the Candida in the cup, here is the reason they look like that:

Not in the picture are the cuttings from last Sunday:

I tipped the domes back this morning so they will start adapting to the world as they root.

On to the winter three, which are getting flipped tonight, so they all got haircuts yesterday.
Purple Skunk Krush, day 75 (sex still unknown):

Fruit Punch, day 78:

Golden Tiger, day 78:

And I'll be dropping seeds tonight for the spring grow: a Carnival (fem) and two AF-47 (unknown African sativa x AK-47 from 420).

Carnival is from Ministry of Cannabis and is described thusly:
This is a cross between a Haze mother and a particular individual mostly sativa as father. Carnival has an extremely high content of THC: the laboratory test on Ministry Of Cannabis sample has shown an amazing 23.2%. This is not the only good note, the flowering time is really short for a plant that is 80% sativa, at 9 weeks.

The AK cross was an accidental backyard pollination of my (gifted) last AK-47 clone and a male sativa
from Africa. The AK-47 is already a sativa-leaning hybrid with a short flower period (around 70 days), and I'm hoping the cross will make it a shorter flower than the African father, but with more giggle than the AK.

It's getting chilly and windy out and we're getting rain this afternoon, so everything needs to get back inside. I hope your weekend is going well, and the hours left are filled with love.

:ciao:

They all look happy, healthy, and well groomed!
That Candida in the cup is amazing-she's gonna get rootbound pretty soon:)

Everything is looking great, Shed! Thanks for the before/after comparisons - much easier to see the difference that way. :thumb:

Have you grown a Carnival yet? Sounds pretty nice. Regarding timing, will your winter girls be done by the time the spring seedlings will need up potting, or will there be some overlap?

That flipped IIP in that cup gets me every time.
Anything I can do to lighten your day! It stinks too :).
Beautiful plants all around Shed... and some good looking haircuts too!
Thank you MoN!

Yeah, at some point I guess.
I believe you're correct sir. I get about 3 grows from a bag like that and they go pretty limp.
Thanks otter! Mine come out clean enough with the hose and the washing machine. I'm fine with stuck roots.
Nice update shed! All the ladies are lookin lovely AF. Nice lookin yard too brother!
LOL! Great thing about turf...always a great backdrop :cheesygrinsmiley:. Thanks Magoo!

Much easier to see what I did when I put them side by side.

I haven't, but if our sativa-fueled SweetSue likes it, it's gotta be good.

Here is the way I have it (possibly mistakenly) figured: when the lights go out at 8pm, the Carn and AF will move to the heating pad with the clones (under the CFL) until they outgrow the solo cups. At that point, all of the winter three will go in the shed at night and the Carn and AF can move into the tent in their 1 gallon pots.

Of course, if I put all three in the shed at night, then the tent will be vacant starting tonight. But I'm still not sure how I want to work that out. I may smoosh them all into the tent for now so they stay warm at night. As they stretch, the night time temps should warm up, making it safer to put them in the shed at night. We'll see!
Great pics Shed. The plants all look great!
:thanks:
... and of course the often overlooked JOTM winner, this time being @multiVortex
Yes...congrats to @multiVortex for GJoTM! Sorry, I always forget to check that...even when I won.

I figured it might be complicated :laughtwo: Thanks for the details... that I'm sure might change.

I made the decision to put all three in the shed with the Samsung strips at 200w. They were really going to be smooshed in the tent.

Low tonight outside is 52ºF, so we'll see what the low was at soil level when I check in the morning. Lights off at 8pm tonight, and tomorrow is flip day 1 (day 62)!
Thanks for the shoutout ITS! :cheesygrinsmiley: :ciao:
Your plants are looking marvellous! Heck of a root system on that candida! :thedoubletake:
Thanks BLS! No clue what I'm going to do with it though...

That's really beautiful my good sir! A stunning group shot of the gals! Solo cup looks ro have one mighty root structure hey wow!

Here is the Monday update with some odds and ends.

First, I decided to time how long it took to make 70 capsules with my CBD oil. I know that some folks use capsule holders (and some that put the lids on as well), but I use a 1x4 with drilled spots for 35 caps.

I made two sets, for a total of 70 capsules:

This is how long it took, from opening and placing the capsules in the board, filling them, closing them up, and repeating the process:

Anyone with a capsule tray know how long their process takes?

Next up is another pitch for my skin salve. Lots of folks make topical pain oil, but this salve is incredibly powerful stuff. Let me tell you a story:

I took my dog out for a long walk on Saturday night, and at one point I doubled back 20 feet to look at something that caught my eye. She did not like having to turn around and started jumping and biting at my arm (like a non-threatening version of those police-dog training videos!). In the process, she managed to wrap the leash around my legs. I went to grab the flat retractable to keep her from making another loop and she took off, dragging the fabric though my fingers.

It was painful AF, and even after putting ice on it when I got home, I could see a big blister forming. When I tried to go to sleep, I had sharp stabbing pains in that finger that made me jump out of bed. Off I went to the fridge for the skin salve, which works on burns, hives, bites, stings, and abrasions. I put it on the blister and covered it with a band-aid, and within two minutes had no pain and fell right to sleep.

This is what it looked like on Sunday morning:

I put the salve on twice a day and I don't even notice the blister. Considering it's made with the parts of the plant we normally throw away, it's definitely worth doing.

Also, I upped the beeswax to 50g/cup yesterday and it seems stable at temps in the mid-high 60s. We'll see how it does as the weather gets warmer. Once I get a final number I'll have the mods edit my salve post, where I used only 25g/cup and had to keep it in the fridge.

Moving on, I dropped a Carnival seed and two AF-47's last night, and they're on the heating pad with the clones in a box for darkness. I soak them in 50/50 H2O2/water for 20 minutes and then move them to distilled water.

As I mentioned yesterday, today is flip day 1 for the winter three, so let's see how the temp was overnight in the shed:

:brrrr:

And last for the day, this is a record of the heights of each of the plants this morning, to keep track of stretch:
Golden Tiger - 28"
Fruit Punch - 25"
Purple Skunk Krush - 23"

Of course, there will be tying and supercropping, so it's not like we'll ever know how tall they would have gotten if I left them alone, therefore none of these measurements matter!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Stay safe out there and cover your mouth when you sneeze! :ciao:
