InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

'Fraid not!
And what if I got an oil-filled radiant heater, plugged it in in the house, and then unplugged it to move in the shed at night while it cooled?

Maybe - but I always find they cool down a lot faster than I’d think. And the coldest time of the night is usually the pre dawn (round here anyway).

Do you know how long it gets that cold for? If it isn’t for very long, the larger plants might be ok (protected by sheer mass of soil) - and /or it may just be sufficient to wrap the pots in some kind of insulating material... blanket or thermal cloth maybe.
:Namaste:

I’m not sure about the leaf damage, seems it wouldn’t be light stress in only 2 spots like that.

I’m not suggesting it’s calmag or anything, but because it can up... Too much Mg can lock out Ca uptake, I’ve nevrr heard of too much Ca blocking out Mg. All my research suggests that most otc Calmag supps are still fairly low on Ca - in terms of ideal ratios. Just throwing that into the conversational pot :)
My next purchase for the shed will be one of those all-in-one towers. Does heat and a/c to whatever temp is set. Perfect for my set-up. They are definitely pricey, so I gotta save some cheeze!

Before next summer crop starts....
They need to be vented to the outside though, yes? One of those R2D2 things with the hoses out the back?
That's the one! R2 sounds like a perfect name too. LoL

I doubt the plants like being carried with nothing supporting the roots but perlite, and they get top heavy because perlite it lighter than soil. And the water would spill every time they get picked up.

Have you gone into the perlite business as well? I swear there's a lot in ProMix HP :thumb:
I always added extra perlite to mine but it’s preference to me basically individual growers style and preferences .

Portable AC and heating unit

It's going to be a couple of days before I can deal with changing the nutes (much to Felipe's chagrin) so we'll get a better picture as we go.

In terms of the heat, I figure if the heater gets the shed up 10 degrees above ambient to start, it will fall to a higher temp than currently, if you know what I mean.

Felipe was talking strictly hempy, which is perlite and nothing but perlite in a bucket.
:D I never get to edit my typos before you read!! QuickDraw McGraw!!
Felipe was talking strictly hempy, which is perlight and nothing but perlite in a bucket.
Not to beat a dead horse (or whatever the more palatable phrase is these days), but this isn’t strictly true. Hempy was originally 3 or 4:1 perlite to vermiculite. It can also include coco, or be entirely coco. Hydroton and aquarium gravel have also been used. Although they are much heavier. But you get the idea. You can experiment and find what combination of materials works for you.

Something like this...

An all in one unit that will turn on/off appropriately based on thermostat.

It's the last real environmental issue that I still have to monitor closely and adjust regularly. Life will be much easier when I'm not chasing heat & cold.
