InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Its a “play” on Mega Crop. Past issues have made it “SOP” to type it kinda funny. Kinda like how you use the word flarf. Or am I missing something?

NTH
No, I might be though, lol. I get what you're saying, and lol. But the word flarf. Isn't that what it's called officially? If not I had no idea I was butchering the word, lol. It just means shit, I know that.

Ahhhh...that's right!!! That was a duh moment for me. Sorry. Haaa haaaa
Easy moment to have...one word, two meanings!
Quick question, more of a request really.
Could you use a empty bottle of Terpinator or left over re re distilled bottle of Everclear for a pot?
I think that says "Hey...look at me!" more so then a Big Gulp cup.
Great question again Baron! There are a few considerations involved, and I'd like to list them here if you don't mind. Where the empty bottle of Terp would be much easier to work with (as Jon explains below), it would be both unattractive and very weird to transplant out of (unless, of course, you had an even bigger bottle of Terp of the same shape to transplant into as a final pot).

And though the empty Terp bottle would be easy and unattractive, a glass Everclear bottle would be much more classy if more difficult to deal with. You use a glass cutter to take the top off (leaving the label obviously), use a diamond bit to drill drain holes in the bottom, put the plant in, and watch the beautiful white roots turn brown from exposure to light right before your eyes.

This is the conundrum. Not all questions have simple answers, but a Big Gulp does answer a lot of them.
An empty big Terpinator bottle? Sure, why not? Just poke or drill holes in the bottom, and if you really want to get cute, use a drill and create a Terpinator AirPot with a couple dozen holes in the sides to get air to your sure to be locked up roots. I bet it would work great and look cool as hell. Then just to be ornery make sure to use a non-Terpinator product in place of when you would normally use that. Lol!!!
100%!
What's tegabop?
We aren't supposed to plug what WestHippie now calls the "cheap nutes." I just go with MC to keep it from appearing in a Google search.

Larf, the word I learned was larf rather than flarf. But everyone knows what you mean!

Oh...it's larf, not flarf? Lol!!! Ok. I like flarf better anyway!

Wow, nice instructions on how to prep a terribly bad pot idea in a glass bottle!

My four gallon bottle of Terpinator is huge, way way bigger than a Dixie, and it's black and roughly rectangular. All he'd have to do is poke some holes and cut the top off. Or even better, feed via manifold line right through the small opening you screw the lid onto, that would look cooler to have the stem there. But then it would be crammed to one side, so you'd have to cut the top off. It would be almost identical to growing in about a 2 or 2.5 gallon pot when it was said and done. Why wouldn't it work just fine? I'm missing that part? (Although I do get the ugly part, it would definitely be that. Not the logo for a pot plant. Lol.

I'm missing that part?
While I appreciate your conscientiousness, I think what you're missing is this:
Quick question,
Who has won more gallons of Terpinator?
You or @Cola Monster
Quick question....
Which would you rather clean your paint brushes in?
Re-re distilled Everclear or Terpinator?
Thanks for your time.
Quick question....
Which would you rather use for fixing pot holes in asphalt?
Re re distilled Everclear or Terpinator?
Thanks for your time.
Quick question....
Which would you use to thin out or water down your salve with? Terpinator or re-re distilled Everclear?
Thanks for your time.
Quick question.
Instead of getting a oil change with the new heater. Would you consider changing to re-re distilled Everclear, or Terpinator?
Thanks for your time.

I bought some soil today.

Much less than I was expecting at only $12.50/bag! Time to "Jump Start" my garden. :)

My four gallon bottle is huge
What's everyone got against high priced banana juice around here?
4 gallons is not funny at all. 12.5 gallons moves into the area of comedy. Here are 10 of those gallons, factory sealed in 2.5 gallon jugs:

I seem to have misplaced the open one. :hmmmm:

Later I learned I could turn them down before they shipped!

Wow you really can't stand the stuff eh? Sorry, but it's so funny. What did it do to you to make you despise it so? Lmao!!1

:circle-of-love: :high-five:

What's your plan for nutrients? Any other amendments for the soil? Happy Frog is relatively "light" in nutrients correct? Or is that one a "seed to harvest" type of soil. FF have quite a few soil mixes. I'm not familiar with their recipes.

They really do have a ton. Makes one wonder why the only two you ever see used are Happy Frog and Ocean Forest.

Ohh Shed indoors?

Afternoon/evening all! Here's the Friday transplant update seeing as how I bought two bags of FoxFarms Happy Frog.

First up was the two Summer Grow plants, a Trainwreck from @Weed Seeds Express and a Purple Urkle freebie from I don't remember where:

First I needed to mix up the substrate, so I went with 3 parts FFHF and 1 part rinsed perlite. I added a bunch of @DYNOMYCO because why not!

Mix mix stir stir, all done:

Here are the roots on the Purple Urkle:

Because they're so packed in, I sliced them down the sides with a razor blade, sprayed them with water, and sprinkled more @DYNOMYCO on them. You can just make out the downward slices if you zoom in:

Here are the roots on the Trainwreck. These didn't need slicing though I did break up the bottom a bit:

All done. I took off the first two nodes on the TW and the first node on the PU:

They got 4.5g equivalent nutes (that's my full strength veg mix, but I think they can handle it), mostly where the original rootball is because soil's capillary action is even great than ProMix HP.

Next up was the lime clone that took a year outside in the shite soil to show any growth. Here it is in the faded solo cup:

The roots of citrus trees are very woody:

I mixed in 2 tablespoons of GeoFlora to keep it happy and watered it from the hose down the middle. All done:

And that's it for me playing in the dirt! I hope your Friday is going well and that the weekend is both relaxing and productive. :)

It's definitely not that I can't stand the stuff! It's a perfectly good source of potassium and sulfur if that's what you need in your nutes. What makes it funny is that they would send 2.5 gallon bottles as part of every OTM prize package, and you only tend to use it 5ml at a time and only in flower. You can see why a little would go a long way, not to mention saving on shipping!

Good question Baked! I plan on making no changes to my nutes, which will continue to be a blend of MC, monosilicic acid, 0-0-0 cal-mag, ammonium nitrate, and magnesium nitrate. Whatever nutes may be cooked into FFHF at the factory will be ignored, which would have been the same if it was FFOF.
They really do have a ton. Makes one wonder why the only two you ever see used are Happy Frog and Ocean Forest.
Most popular blends in their lines? Availability of ingredients? I don't know.
Only so much shelf space I reckon. Soil bags take up a lot of room on the warehouse floor. That and those two being most popular. Still, not available at the big box stores here or even the local big nurseries. I had to go to LA Garden Supply to get it. It's a huge hydro warehouse near me, and the only place I could find the ProMix HP as well.
Ohh Shed indoors?
Nah Verbalist, no need to panic! Everything else I've been doing will stay the same. @MrSauga's hope is that I will eliminate the pH shift that comes with ProMix HP. I'm actually slurry-testing the Jack Herer right now to see what blend of nutes to mix next. That and the Candida will be the last two in ProMix, for a while at least. If this summer's grow turns out well with no issues, I will stick with the FFHF going forward.

...and a Purple Urkle freebie from I don't remember where

I thought yours was an Ape Origin. Same I grew a while back. Was it a freebie from Cannapot?
