InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

I took a bunch of closeups of the 5 Doug's Varin seeds and then one of the seed I picked to drop last night but they never got saved to the phone for some reason :( , so all I have for the Friday update is this pic of the seed in the bowl this morning (the bubbles are left over from the initial H2O2 soak):

@Virgin Ground and I are doing a joint grow of these high-THCV seeds from @Weed Seeds Express which will get rolling as soon as we both have sprouts. I'll be posting updates here as well of course!

More on (what did you call me?) THCV and Doug's Varin when I get a crack and it goes into peat.

Have a terrific Friday and weekend as well! Stay safe. :peace:

I should’ve made my guess, that’s who I thought it was!
No shame in guessing wrong here. :)
Ha! I'm glad Shed acted on it right away- I thought he had another 24 hours...
I've read the rules since then...
Excellent! I wouldn't want you to miss any of my your opportunities in the future!
Nice Clone Job
Thanks sb! I'm sure it will find a good home wherever it ends up.

Kinda excited to see the Doug’s Varin grow get going. It sounds like a smoke that I’d definitely like to try sometime.

What exactly is the H2O2 soak you do With your seeds? I’m not the best at getting seeds up to the seedling stage and maybe that would help me out.
Enjoy your weekend

Thanks Nev, I'm curious to see if the THCV fuss is legit. The only way to find out is to bring one to harvest!

Soaking seeds in H2O2 before the germination soak is a technique I picked up from @Van Stank in my early days here. I can't remember what his dilution is but I do about 50/50 3%/distilled water. It's designed to kill any bacteria living on the outer shell of the seed that might cause it to rot during the soak or when it's in the peat puck.

15 minutes later I dump that out and fill the bowl back up with distilled and put it in a box on the heat mat at 80º. 24 hours and into the peat it goes, and into the Shoebox of Light®.

Or, you can crack open the ol wallet and buy 10 grams to check it out. ..seems a little pricey though- you gotta wonder if they ever sell any Kilograms ...

That stuff better treat depression, anxiety, pain and sleeplessness.

If I shelled out $500 for 10g of anything, I'd get all of those conditions!

Saturday update since I took the Sour G off the drying lines last night (7 days!).

I managed to get the box to settle at 62% for the last day:

I cut all the buds off the stems and split them into three turkey roasting bags for the burping:

I put them in a drawer overnight to see where they would settle, and sure enough:

So I figured I would get a final weight on them now, since sometimes the RH goes up when I burp!

That's 224g or 7.9 ounces, and with 186 days above ground that works out to 1.2g/day. Not bad but lower than some of my harvests. The low g/day number was due to the incredibly slow start from being in the shite soil, and lower weight was probably related to the droughting going too long. Still, this is not me complaining, just making notes for next time!

Tonight the Chiquita Banana comes off the lines.

Still no crack in the Doug's Varin seed so I'll give it a bit more time. The room it's in was pretty chilly so I don't think the heat mat did enough to warm the water. We'll see!

Holly Shit i will be expecting some clone of this stuff >> Thats for the rich and famous
Pricey stuff! New to the market as well, since Doug's Varin seems to be the only variety I can find that's been bred for high THCV.

Just might treat all of those GDB! Who knows, could be...

Congrats on the half pound haul, Shed! :bravo:
She did real well, considering her rough beginning, and
her "near death" experience a few weeks back...;)

224g you say “not bad“ I say that’s Golden! and the Chiquita Banana tonight it’s going to be High times.
Thanks Nev! Of course, everything's relative. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I think the CB will come in heavier but I'm not sure I've got that to 62% in the tent, so it may take longer before I can get a final on it.

Thank you Carcass! It's true that this plant has been through the wringer, and I hope the payoff for that drought is readily apparent after all the sturm und drang.

Congrats on the Sour G haul. I'll be curious if you feel that the drought experiment was worth it. How will you know? Your family will say, " It gets me high" or "It gets me good and high"?

Congrats on a nice yield from a sorry looking plant. Seems like a win to me.

Does 1.2 g/day qualify you for any Carbon offset deductions in Cali? If so, dont forget to fill out the paperwork!
