Indicas Grow & Experimenting Genetics Part II - Winter Indoor Organic Grow

Do you think dipping the cut end (base) of a branch into a brewing ACT would be a better idea? You could let it sit with the base suspended in the brew for...8-12 hours while its being aerated. The branch would suck up the tea (and the microbes with it). You could then wash the bud and hang it up to dry. That way you don't risk bud rot, and you don't have to wash off all the dirt from the ACT. You just wash it once - business as usual.

I don't know if I can experiment this round. I won't have a big enough harvest. BUT! next grow Will have more than I'll know what to do with so I can do some controlled experiments and see what works best.

I pulled the plug on this one. taken down, bud washed and drying, Im gonna pass it first thru the magnifying glass as soon as dry.
Blue Berry (at least I still have one more of these seeds, maybe for summer)

Taking her spot in the tent is gonna be 3 BC Mango (my own cross seeds, from my previous Experimenting Genetics "feminized seeds"), this was the first strain I grew they only sell Regular seeds, I want to confirm if in fact they are "feminized" and what the new cross pheno looks like. The female Bc Mango was pollinated with a male hermie pollen, I called the plant MMS (mystery mexican seed/sativa), the same one intended to use to pollinate this season.

Note: I wonder how much longer could this 13/11 photoperiod be going on without killing the plant... 5months? 8 months? these have been for almost two months and they still seem to be growing. Just 5 days from switching to 12/12, I hear that voice telling me to extend it one more month... A part of me wants to keep them going to test their limits but the other side of me wants them to flower and get this running...

:passitleft:

I just came to by to check out your grow. Wow bro, I will definately be subscribing and following your thread, you have a lot of good info ..:bravo::Namaste:..thanks for taking the time to provide all of us with all of this great info ....#yourawesome!:)

Took me a couple days, but I'm finally caught up. From soil to genetix, to science to light, you're all over it. Thx for sharing all that info. There are a few people playing w/GLR around, but nobody is exploring the edge of the envelope the way you and the Mad Scientist Posse are.

Found an interesting photo-period manipulation thread that I wanted to try, but it needed a fancy digital timer, so it's on the back-burner. They use 21:36on/12off for 2 weex during mid-Bloom. Author claimed that this protocol would "boost plant metabolism."

Conveniently, this allows for ez switchback to 12/12. Have you heard of this? Thought it might be right up your alley.
Thx again for the awesome read.

Rats! I wrote all the info down in my notebook. Was hoping for your impressions. I haven't seen any threads where people used this photo-schedule. I wonder if it worx well.
Thx again for an awesome journal.

Well I have never tried this light schedule before, so I can't really tell you more than what the thread has to say. It could be great info if you try it out and document it on your journal. There is really not a lot of info about it.

Today officially starts 12/12, this will be the photoperiod until end of March and the finish with 11/13.

Its hasn't been easy keeping these ladies somewhat happy, indoors is a real challenge all the time :lot-o-toke: This is how they look right before they start "flowering" photoperiod. Its gonna be interesting to see whats coming good or bad (Im hoping for good lol)

Im gonna water then tomorrow with nutrients and off they go.

It'll be exciting to see what they do from here. I want to see if there's any appreciable difference when you switch to 11/13.

I can't wait to see them go full flower, and even more exciting finishing 11/13. I believe they have already gone thru a lot of change and even more is yet to come as they will go into official bloom. Im expecting calyx maturation and more fully developed trichomes and with the 11/13 final ripening of all the buds. Today I noticed the Pheno #3 has definitely signs of fox tailing... and as the bud fully develops is most def gonna get more intense. I don't know if fox tailing buds is something good or bad... Whats your take on that Sue?

For the other 2 Phenos I can only hope for the best. :passitleft:

I watered then today with a good dose of fertilizer solution and molasses, Im expecting changes to be noticeable by the end of the week, hopefully good changes.

As for the 3 BC Mango Cross they are out of the soil with extended wings ready to fly up. I hope they grow vigorous like Im used to seeing this strain grow fast with robust stems.

this a picture of the top of PHENO#1 a month difference, a lot of change.

In general I hardly even recognize my plants anymore, they are far from being the bushy 4 inch tall Phenos I had in the beginning of January, makes me wonder what are they gonna end up looking like 2 months from today...

I have also been getting out of the way the unwanted phenos... 3 are gone.

Subbed up! You've got some very unique lookin' ladies on your hands here danish. Excited to see them get to 11/13! :goodjob:

Welcome aboard Bubba, yeah if only these ladies could tell me what strain they are... on the other hand I love how unknown they are and considering how difficult they are to grow makes them very unique to me. The clues I have is they are tropical outdoor grown Cannabis plants (Mexico and Jamaica) that were Not Sinsemilla (they had seeds either by self-pollination"hermies" or cross-pollination) so even if the genetics are imported from Holland its still crossed at some point because the seeds came in a bud I smoked several years ago....

Also I have been practically messing with them since day one. Im glad they are on 12/12 and Im also excited to see them finish 11/13

:passitleft:

Stick around to see whats the outcome.

My take on fox tailing is that it's a sign of a mature plant. If you look at photos of my Bomb there was lots of it going on in the last week or two. From reading other journals and threads I've come upon many long-term growers who won't harvest until they see ample fox tailing. I figure they must know what they're talking about when they say the yield is more potent after fox tailing.
