Hey Everyone!!!
I hope everyone is having a great summer so far, despite all the craziness going on in the world. Without going into details as I wanna stay away from politics, I just wanna say I hope everyone is paying full attention to what is going on in the world, and not just trusting 1 news source, but doing their own research.. as things are getting pretty critical for our futures right now... I will leave it at that, but I hope everyones eyes are wide open, ears are fully attentive and you are looking past the "propaganda"... anyways... back to the journal, and I hope everyone is doing well through these rather unfortunate times....
So where are we in Icemuds pollen chucking ongoing adventure....
Well, The current seed project is finally complete and I have deseeded all of the plants, my grow tent is clean and ready to take clones this weekend to prepare for the next seed project. The seed project I just finished was supposed to be a Chocolate Thai open pollination, however I popped on accident some DJ Short blueberry seeds with the Chocolate Thais, and the blueberry were the first to show pollen, so I removed all of the chocolate thai male and females, and let the blueberry pollen fly. Unfortunately, some of the chocolate thai males had spread pollen about 1 week after the blueberry, so although I am convinced that most of the mature seeds are blueberry crosses, I can't be certain, so I labeled these accordingly as my blueberry mistake project and I will used these beans to give to friends that I know who are learning to grow, so they can have some awesome genetics to play with, and I may even pop some in the future just to have fun with.. but due to the uncertaintes I will not be breeding with these in the future and they will be more for just popping or for friends giveaways.
Overall I had 1 male blueberry and 2 female blueberries, and the female blueberries were incredible. Beautiful frosty plants, nice node spacing, great bud structure and trichomes were above average. One of the females was extremely frosty and perfect in every way, but the terps were not really strong blueberry, and more of a musky garlic armpit smell, so I didn't keep any clones of it. The other female was slightly less frosty, but had those blueberry waffel and syrup terps, and the structure was still very nice and trichomes were still really good, so I put the plant in re-veg as I will use it in the upcoming DJ Short blueberry project which will be after the current Chocolate Thai one.
So whats next.... The next project will be my "hopefully" final Chocolate Thai breeding project attempt. I already have males, I have pheno hunted females, and I will be hitting all of my "mothers" with chocolate thai pollen. Since they are in veg and about 3' tall, I will be taking clones this weekend, and then putting them into veg for 1-2 more weeks until I know all of the clones root, and then I will be flipping to flowering. This project will probably be done right around Thanksgiving, and following that I may be doing the DJ Short Blueberry project.... That is unless my state California decides to go full tyrannical with v-ax passports and mandates, in which if that happens, I won't be sticking around and will probably relocate to a more American loving state. I am hoping enough people stand against this craziness, but if not, I will not comply and will leave which may put a hold on future projects... A lot going on right now with that, so its hard to say what the immediate future holds... All I know is I want to finish my Chocolate Thai project before I make any other decisions......
If California stays as is, then I will be starting the DJ Short Blueberry seed project with the remaining beans I have (which are hard to find F4's). I also need to work on getting some "smokable flower" plants into there without getting pollen as my supply is running low and I refuse to pay "legal market" prices....
So all and all, not sure what the future holds as a lot is going on in the world, and Cali right now with everything..... but I know for sure I will at least be finishing the Choc Thais which will go into flowering in the next 2 weeks. I will take photos one they are ready
Well here is the current seed project harvest
quite a nice haul for future use or gifts
