Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spectrum

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Lush & green what more can i say :green_heart:

Just wondering how many times you have topped those girls before flowering ?

Hey Fuzzy! Thanks for the compliments!

I think that I topped the tangies and ogiesel (front row) about 2-3 times total, where as the back row of plants being slightly older by a few weeks I think I may have topped 4 times.

Once again you amaze me with you low wattage LED grow. I have been shown the GLM before but with my setup I have to run 9p to 9a, so those 5 off one on, ect would not be feasible. Nevertheless, you seem quite dialed in your tent. I'll miss my 4 months off in the summer but a vacation will be nice.

Cheers

Hey Miller :) I'm quite impressed with how well these COBs are doing, very impressed! I run my lights at night too, my schedule is from 5pm to 5am, 10:30am-11:30am. (for GLR during veg). I'm definitely enjoying the combo of LED and GLR on my electric bill too :) for just this 400w tent, the gLR saves me about $14 a month off my bill :)

I applaud you for getting my mind working Ice! I'm seriously looking at getting some outdoor pots rocking.

Of course they'll be blue berries and cherry tomatoes. But what a great way to try a new system!

I wish I had an outdoor area to grow, I would have it loaded with fresh garden veggies. One thing I miss from my childhood is my parents always had a huge garden with everything from cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, peppers, onions, beans.... and sometimes corn and other goodies too, nothing better than home grown veggies :)

Wow talk about timing. What am unbelievable update! Definitely time to flip brother Ice! Those babies are begging for flower cycle. Can't wait to see the results!

Yep, I couldn't wait any longer, they just kept growing taller by the day, and to make sure when they stretch there was still vertical distance for the lights to be a good distance away I had to flip :) really excited to have some harlequin and black cherry soda going, such amazing genetics :)

I wanted to tell you guys about the red wiggler indoor composters we bought. It's a great way of using old food scraps to make worm castings. We currently have around 1,500 worms in our composter. It's so cool! It even collects "worm tea" in the bottom and has a spigot to get the liquid out. It's pretty odorless too, so the house doesn't smell like garbage.

Also want to give you props for the lively plants you are raising. Solid work bud!

One more thing, will you keep us up to date on the E/O research you do?

Wow, I really like that worm bin, and compost tea extract on tap!!! thats awesome! I really appreciate the sharing and maybe will have to add that to my list of things to get in the near future :) really great share! thanks!

I will defintely keep everyone updated as I divulge into more research with E/O. It may take some time because I'm also heavily researching LED lighting design for the company I work with, helping them to develop a better LED that will be used for vertical gardens in their large warehouse grows. Its tricky because with low canopys and minimal vertical height it takes a different design than most of the LED lights that are on the market.

Nice Icemud! Looking forward to your ISO/leaves formula results. My grandfather could definitely use some pain relief and this would be amazing.

There is a lot of info in the net about this being a very good solution for pain :) I'm hoping that the leaf rub will work, but I do have some old buds I could also try if it doesn't. Maybe I should get it started now, so that in 30 days I can compare :) hmmm :)

I ran across another grower with a worm composter. They puree their food scraps once a week and add it to the composter. I think I'm going to start doing that. The paperwork with the composter says they like food as small as possible. I've been cutting it small, but nowhere near a puree consistency. Seems easier and will save time to puree.

And that's really cool how you are working with a light company! We are looking into some LED'S for our newly made Plant Cave. It's in the basement so we have plenty of head room to work with.
Have a great day!

I've got one started with half fresh leaves, and half dried. Used clear alcohol, but the liquid in the jar is GREEN!

I do this all the time. Been doing it for years. I always use buds though. Higher the CBD the better. Harlequin would be perfect. We use a handful of cheese cloth and my wife applies it to my back with rubber gloves.

Back pain is gone within 10 minutes and it lasts all day. You can get high on it so careful before work lol.

I use 190 proof Everclear, not isopropyl. I like food grade ingredients whenever possible.

Mine has been soaking about a week. It's the waiting game now. Lol

Hey Mosheii,

I think the GOD panels are amazing, however, they also are made to be hung high with a lot of vertical space, and seeing that your tent is only 5' high, I think that using the GOD's, or any LED with dual lensing may not be the right choice for your tent. I would recommend the COB lights by budmaster because they allow for a much more even canopy and will allow for more vertical height in your grow area for your plants. For your 2x2 tent using a COB 6 would be Ideal.

Another option would be to get 1 GOD 4, and 1 COB 4 panel. Then when you receive them, removed 2 of the 4 modules of each panel and swap them with each other, so you have 2x 4 module panels, each with 2x COB and 2x GOD panels. I think this would be the abolute best option as you will get the increased terpenes from the GOD with red chips, and the more even spread with the COB.

Hey Icemud and thanks for the answer.
So first of all, I upgraded the tent to just bellow 6' (170 cm), which means we have more room.
In my small tent, I don't think COB 6 will fit, it's just too large (the coverage is 80cm x 120cm, while my tent is 60X60).
However, I think COB 2 or GOD 2 will fit fine (the extra coverage from the sides will come back and cover the whole tent, at least that's what I understood). Now, I also recommended about the COB light, but I was told that it's white light (full spectrum?) and it won't be utilized properly.
Anyway, I think my final dilemma is between COB 2 and GOD 2, so which is better, and am I wrong to pick them? Take into account that I'm planning to use nets to lower the plants height, and in general planning to grow mostly auto plants, which of course are lower then others.
Thanks again my friend!

I would, if its possible, call budmaster and see if you can get a 1/2GOD, 1/2 COB panel made, with 4 total modules. I think for your size tent which is approx 2'x2' the 4 module would be ideal. If you could get a special one made where it was 1/2 GOD, 1/2 COB you would get the best of both worlds. The GOD modules are the red/blue/white Osram chips which are good for penetration, and increasing the flavor and resin, where the COB offers a much more even footprint, and has a lot of green which will drive photosynthesis hard when the red/blue pigments are "full" and can't accept more photons of those ranges.

The information on "white light not being used proprely" is incorrect, all photons between 400nm (blue/violet), and 700nm (red/deep red) are used for photosynthesis. The idea that plant only need red/blue was an old study from 1972 by McCree which does show at low light levels which wavelengths are used most, however it didn't take in consideration higher light levels. Newer research suggests that green light actually drives photosynthesis harder than red/blue when at high intensities. This is why HPS lights do very well, even though they contain very little blue or red and the majority of their output is in the green/yellow range as well as IR.

If you can't have a 1/2 and 1/2 panel made, then I would probably suggest the COB over the GOD panel because COB technology is what all grow light enthusiasts are using in 2016, and it provides a near sunlight type spectrum and does also match the profile of the Mccree curve, even though its slightly outdated, it is still important.

I would go with a 4 module panel though, whether its the COB or GOD.

Hey Everyone!

Update coming later today :)

We have buds!!!

Things are going well, been really busy with work lately, but the garden is doing well :) Hope everyone has a great day!

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Hey chap have you started messing about with your reds yet? I should be getting my set soon and wanted to know what you think of em?

Nope, haven't gotten them yet. I was waiting on Paul, who was waiting for my address..LOL anyways we got it all squared away and I should have it this thursday according to the tracking :) Can't wait! I will have to read up though on the proper ways to use it for boosting flowering.

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Looking forward to the update icemud. Great news, my next journal will be a BudMaster sponsored journal. I'm stoked for both of us. Is the red light just for boosting yield? Will you be using it as side lighting or maybe mix up some panels? 2 GOD x 1 COB x 1 Red sounds pretty cool!

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Congratulations on your new buds! I can't wait to see your update! :thumb:

Thanks Pinky Green!!! I fell asleep so early yesterday I didn't get a chance to get photos of the flowering tent, so those will be tonight. The other 2 tents were awake when I got up this morning so took some photos :)

Wow! that is awesome that you are sponsored by Budmaster too! Paul is such an amazing owner, very involved with perfecting his products and seems to really be ahead of the game in terms of plant lighting. Always working on new innovations and ideas :) You will love the Budmasters, which ones are you rocking?

The red light is using only Osram IR 730nm chips and the purpose (which I still have to research more) is for leaving on for I believe 2 hours after lights out. The addition of IR light after dark converts the Pfr to Pr faster which allows for boosting the flowering hormones in the plant. This is supposed to speed up the process. I think they also can be used during the full daylight schedule too, but I have to read up more on it.

I will most likely add the red light to this current flowering grow, but I almost want to wait until next grow so I really can see the benefits of it as well as just how the COB's do by themselves :) we will see :)
