Excellent smoke report ice! Congrats

Hey drcannabi!

Thank you :) stay tuned for the rest of them :)

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

yeah that was a good report :thumb:I find you very easy to understand on info some times I seem to zone out,,:thankyou:

I do the same thing quite often, I'm a very "in the head" type of person, brain always thinking of ideas in like a picture form and so I catch myself drifting off in deep thought quite often :)

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Interesting back ground Ice :high-five:

Why not go self employed !

Recording studio etc, perhaps a new sales pitch aka grow kit & shop you have plenty of experience... the world is just the pearl in the oyster.

Hey Fuzzy Duck!

Thanks :) yea I definitely can say my life has been very very exciting and interesting, far from cookie cutter normal :) haha in good ways for the most part :)

I've thought of going independent and I believe I should be starting some websites soon. I want to do one for plant lighting specific with future ideas for a niche in the market :)

I also have a few other ideas for websites as well. :) Ideally to generate revenue so that I can start the 2nd phase of my goals which will hopefully result in future products :)

Right now I just need to figure out a way to get it all started and come up with the initial investment money. :)

Update time!!

So lets start today with the Budmaster COB tent (veg):

So I noticed the girls were getting quite bushy and so I decided it was time to transplant them into their larger 5 gallon square pots to give the roots more room to grow, and hopefully to form a very nice thick rootball by the time they are ready to flower.

I removed each plant, and put it into the 5 gallon pot filling in the gaps with my recycled and cooking soil. Wow it smells so earthy. I've been recycling just about all my leaves into the soil bin and usually withing 1-3 weeks they are gone and broken down into soil humus so the soil is alive and well :)

I sprinkled some mycorhyza on the roots before each plant was filled in with soil to help build up even more of a vast soil life and then hit each plant with 4 cups of plain r/o water to give the new soil some moisture for the roots to feed from :)

I also mixed up a foliar spray and sprayed both tents, veg and flowering (since there are no flowers yet I don't mind). The mix consisted of r/o water with:

Amaze (wont buy this stuff after its out because of the MSDS on it, not the greatest stuff) but since its early it wont harm :)
PGR
carboload (5 sugars)
thrive alive b1 organic 1-1-1
yucca extract
2-4-0 hydrolyzed fish
micronutrients

The Budmaster GOD tent: Flowering Day 6

So the flowering tent is also growing like weeds man! lol

On day 6 from the flip, no preflowers yet, but I do think that within the next day or 2 I will see them pop :) usually it seems to be right around day 8 for me :) currently I have them on a 12.25/11.75 schedule which I will run for the first 3-4 weeks, then I will slowly start reducing it by 1/4 hour every week until I hit 11/13 which I will keep it at for the finish.

I will have to keep my eye on the area 51, as I noticed upon close inspection that 1 of the main stems seems to be developing what looks like it could be balls, and all the other branches look to be showing white pistils. Hmmmm.. This was a clone I got from those same clonehacks that gave me spidermites a while back... Luckily the mites were gone a long time ago, but being that they were some clone hacks.. I really don't know what I got from them or if then even picked a good pheno or what of this strain, so we will see as time goes on if the area 51 behaves, or has to be yanked.

Other than that, all the plants look amazing, and I can tell that after the stretch is over and around day 25 I am going to have to do some serious defoliation as the canopy is really really thick and probably not much airflow is happening right now. I generally like to wait though until the stretch is complete and the flowers are in full swing because by then the plants have adjusted themselves vertically and horizontally so planning out my defoliation is much easier and seems more effective then guessing while they are still growing.

The flowering tent got a foliar spray as well tonight, with the above mix since there still are no buds I don't mind spraying. I used to spray all the way up until the buds got really dense but I just really don't feel comfortable doing it anymore so after around day 25 or so I stop...

I also am preparing a Earth Juice tea for both tents with 5 gallons of R/O water and:

40ml of EJ grow
40ml of EJ bloom
40ml of EJ catalyst
40ml of EJ micro
40ml of EJ Meta K
25ml of Hygrozyme
yucca extract
5ml of humboldt bloom
40ml of humboldt equillibrium
about 40 ml of molasses

This mix should bubble for 2 days and will be fed to the girls on sunday.

Here are today's photos of the GOD tent:

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

You might want to try round short #5 pots. Plants take the shape of their pot and round short pots work well. Sq pots will push plants higher and thin them out some vs round pots.

Cheers.

Smoke Report....

Tangie Phenotype #2

This tangie was the one that was front and center in the tent, and had 4 nice fat colas. It was one of the medium sized plants, and had a very ugly bud structure with foxtails coming out of every which way. It also though had a very strong fragrance too while growing so I was curious how she would be upon harvest.

This plant was actually dried better than some of the others as it was one of the first ones I chopped and also seemed that the buds had a more airy structure, not meaning the buds were airy, but the way the buds developed was like a ton of little buds would make up 1 large cola, so it seemed with the foxtailing and the structure allowed it to dry faster than the others.

I'm not exactly a fan of the bud structure on these, pretty ugly if you ask me, but they are coated with a lot of resin. Depending on how the others smoke vs this one, it may be a keeper but its debatable right now...

The Smell:
The smell of these buds is very very potent. Just cracking the jar fills the room with the aroma. The smell of this tangie pheno (#2) is very hard to describe. Its very sweet, buttery and citrus skunk to it. More citrus than any of the other smells though. I definitely like the smell of this one, different than the others and smells similar to #8.

The Inhale:
Upon inhale, the smoke is very smooth, easy on the throat with very little throat hit, and no expansion in the lungs. Its one of those were you can take a nice hit, hold it comfortably and then let it out slow letting the flavor roll across your pallet. Upon inhale the taste is more skunky sweet than anything else, but upon exhale something wonderful happens, you can actually completely sense a change in flavor as exhaling as it moves to a very sweet citrus flavor comes over your tastebuds. As far a taste, 10 being unbelievable, I probably would put the flavor at a 8, but the potency only around a 7.

The Effect:
So this one I took 3 hits from the same pipe as I sampled the other pheno with. I put a nice fat bud from one of the main cola's in the bowl and took a small hit, just enough to get a little smoke for the taste. Then I took 2 normal sized hits and waited. Immediately you can feel a rush of awakeness and energy within the first few seconds, followed by a body energy boost as well. This one is a lot more clear as far as thoughts and its much easier than pheno #6 to think on track and not get distracted. This one is much more of a body energy than a mental energy, where the brain seems clear and able to focus, but definitely a mild euphoric feeling too. No heavyness at all though, nothing that would make you hit the couch, very much a great smoke for hiking or outdoor activities as its clear and uplifting and fun feeling. Not super strong as I mentioned above out of 10 I would give it like a 7..

Overall:

Well overall this one is impressive, but its definitely not my favorite pheno, as a few of the others really have captured my attention. I have a vegging plant of this one in my 3rd tent to keep the genetics, but depending on how the other 4 finish this next grow, I may either cull this one or keep it depending on how the other smoke reports go, and the next harvest. What really turns me off is the bud structure, its just ugly.. and the potency is there, but not as strong as the others. I may change my mind as time goes on but this one is possibly likely to be cut.

Still a great smoke, don't get me wrong, but for pheno selection, its gotta be the best.. and this one remains questionable when looked at in the whole picture. :) On a good note though the high is very clear which I like so who knows, it may pair really nice with my sativa dom black cherry soda :) man that would be an amazing combo :)

Here are some photos...

**note... In the photos I took them under 3 different light scenereo's to give the full aspect of them. The first few photos were taken with a LED flashlight on, the phone camera flash on, and a cfl ceiling lamp on(soon to be led :) ). The 2nd set of photos is with the camera flash off, and the LED flashlight on, with ceiling light on. The 3rd set of photos is with no flashlight, no camera flash and just the cfl ceiling light.

Hey Millertm...

Good suggestion my friend. I actually used to use some 4 gallon rounds that were wider but shallower, but I went to the 5 gallons to more soil volume. Unfortunately the 5 gallon rounds couldn't fit double wide into my tent so I had to go with the square ones just because of the fit... Ideally I would go to smartpot's number 7 but they don't fit either being too wide.. :( I still have my smartpot 15 gallons ones waiting for the near future too :) definitely want to run some more in those :)

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

10', 15's are rwo big for fast turns. With your light 5's are perfect, I was looking at sq 24"x24", but went round instead.

Cheers

Yea I definitely agree, thats why right now there folded up in storage...LOL eventually I want to veg out like 1 plant, really large, and when it comes to flowering, surround it with LED's and see how it does :) lol

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Balls or no balls, that is the question.....

Ok so as I mentioned in my last update, I was looking at the plants seeing if any preflowers were forming and I noticed on the Area 51 plant something that looks unusual. All the other plants as well as all the other grows with female plants you always see the 2 white pistils at each node first, and then a little cluster of them starts appearing and then just one day boom, flowers... well the Area 51 looks like nothing I have seen with the other females I have run, which makes me believe its a male plant.

Very odd to have a male plant that I bought as a clone... darn clone hacks...never again will I use people like them.. anyhow. I usually grow from clone so male spotting for me hasn't really happened. How often do balls form? look at the photos.. to me it looks nothing like other females, and resembles a male plant from photos I've seen...

what do you guys think.. ?

Here is the Area 51 in question..

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

I'm starting Auto's at 4 every 4 weeks to keep my supply up since there done in 8 weeks. This will let me take my time with 4 long flower plants (SLH, Sour. Maybe some Stick, with 18 week flower.

Cheers

Nop, Mr Mudd posted in between my train of thought.

Thats what I though... thanks for the confirmation.. well looks like room opened up in my flowering tent.. Maybe I will put the other Tangie Pheno in there, and take clones of her :)

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Well I chopped down the Area 51 in the flowering tent... that's what you get for showing your balls around my girls! haha

I wasn't too sure about that strain anyways, never really even heard of it and only saw a few tidbits of info online about it so no loss, would rather just give more light penetration to the other 7 plants :)

I decided not to put my tangie #2 in the flowering tent because it was just recently chopped down to just the base of the plant to branch it out, so instead since I also removed the area 51 out of the COB tent and destroyed it, I moved the Tangie #2 into the COB tent since its about the same size as the other plants, just much older.

No loss on the Area 51 though as I already have some amazing strains and needed to thin things out anyways...

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Yep,

That is a male. Milertm is right again. That is horrible if you bought it as a clone. It sure looks like a stud though. I wonder if they accidently gave you their keeper male? Just wandering in my mind. :circle-of-love:

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Both of the Tangies look delicious. Noticed the #6 is much more dense than the #2's, and both smoke reports were like I was there.

I thought i saw a reference to DLR in a past post Ice !

You still running with GLR & DLR ?

Hey fuzzy Duck!

I actually haven't run GLR, the reason being a tester for the lights. I figured I would run the lights at the most common settings for veg so that people can get an idea with 18/6 how the plants veg. For flowering though I am doing a slight DLR, shifting the daylight period about 1 1/2 hours over the total flowering period.

I definitely will go back to a GLR routine once the tests are done, to save even more electricity :)
