Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spectrum

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Better than the xte 300?

Well its hard to say just yet, but so far, I think they both are amazing panels, and I would recommend either of the 2 to anyone who wants a high end panel. Too early to say which is better, and don't know if I really can since they are different wattage so a comparison would be difficult, but being that both use premium LED chips they pretty much are of similar caliber :)

Since this is a Budmaster sponsored journal, I can't post competitor LED information, but I did a very similar video on my youtube channel for all other LED panels and companies I've tested, and they all show Killawatt readings plus more.

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

So, here is my LED issue, watts. 100 x 5w setups should pull near 300w at which point I'd be down. They are only pulling 50 to 150 watts for panels that I can afford. My T5HO setup is at 319 watts and is temp stable. Moreover, I can run any mix of bloom or veg bulbs so mixed spectrum is possible too. LED needs to beat that setup for me to switch.

Cheers

LED isn't for everyone, some love it, some hate it, some are skeptical. I find that LED works amazing for my garden and I've reduced my power bill quite significantly over HID and don't have to buy $100 bulbs every year which is nice. I say whatever works for you, keep using it :)

I'm not a hater and what you say rings true. I'm keeping an eye on your grow because I'm still on the fence.

Yea Its all really personal preference for plant lighting. I really think 2016 will be the year of COB led lighting as they are currently the most efficient light source on the market.

LED is more of a long term investment as they are very long lasting with minimal lumen depreciation but cost more up front. T5 and HID are much cheaper up front to purchase, but cost more over time as they are less efficient in photon/watt output as well as have must shorter lumen maintenance life where bulb purchases are needed more frequently over time. So for the grower its really best what the overall goal is, T5 and HID for short term affordability but will cost more over time, where LED is high cost up front, but low cost over time.

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Definitely has improved my garden as well.

LED definitely has improved my gardens as well, I'm using much less energy than I was with HID. I don't need to buy 3-4 bulbs a year for each of my ballasts ($400/year expense). And my gram/watt growing efficiency is about 33% higher with LED vs HID. :) plus to me it seems they produce more trichomes, denser bud and better flavor :)

Well I caught up two pages back Icemud. So sorry to hear about the mold. I'm hoping I don't find any when I get home. I jarred them up after four days and left town. My daughter burped them for me, but she wasn't as thorough as I would have been, I'm sure. She also doesn't know what mold looks like. I'm trusting the universe to watch my back. :battingeyelashes:

You're grams per watt are amazing with this last grow Icemud. Damn!!! The driving engine of light. :high-five: This gives me great hope. If I get it right I've got great coverage for my new grow.

It's a pleasure to stop by and catch up. I just love your positive energy my friend, and I always go away having increased my knowledge base.

If I could I would go for Budmaster too !
The Mars Hydro Epistar 160 is the one I can really afford with a little effort, but a Bloomled Spectra Module X540 with the programmer is really what I would like to try (with the *user programmable hour by hour change of light color composition* - i don't know if it is the best, but it is very sexy feature not found anywhere else as far as i know).
I have 2 Cob G5 (384W) + a CFL for my little box :-) I really hope that's enough power for a start (634 W) ;-) (eventhough CFL is not very efficient, but it's cool to have a normal light to see some green + it probably helps a little).

Hey Sweet Sue! Hope your vacation has been fun, relaxing, therapeutic and overall just a blast :) Yea the mold was a minor setback, definitely wish it didn't happen but its also a reminder to me to not rush things and be patient :) so I guess lesson learned :) Fingers crossed for your return to your nugs that your blessed with a beautiful array of amazing buds to try :)

Hey spacef! Welcome to my journal. Budmasters are definitely are doing their job quite well, very happy to have them running and optimistic of what they will do to my garden :)

Just a minor note, since this is a sponsored journal by Budmaster, Its kind of frowned upon to post about other LED brands in sponsored journals, as it could be seen as cross advertising. I'm sure you didn't intentionally do that but just as a sort of heads up :)

I would stay away from those Bloom spectras... I ran their "sister panels" which were known by a different name about 1 year ago, but they come from the same manufacture (CT lite) and their reliability was far below expectation.

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Thank you very much for the warm welcome, and sorry for forgetting about this sponsorship... I am not working for any other brand (I wish I did to get discounts, lol) and I did not mean it as cross advertising. I wnated to share enthousiasm as well as "worries" because i'm am getting a led panel soon, but I am too poor to ghet Budmaster which looks awesome, that was what I meant :-)

Thanks for your note about Spectra, I have seen that other brand (that is not sold anymore here), and I thought it was a story of couterfeit or something like that. Anyway...

I will follow this thread, I am still interested by the small single cobs from Budmaster, they can be useful for corners and such and are affordable too (for those who build their rig slowly, piece by piece) :-)

Cheers !
Thanks!

Icemud,
Just wanted to say I'm learning a great deal from your journal. You are knowledgeable and sharing. This feels like a herbalist class and I wanted to say thank you Ice!:thanks:

I had experience with that same reseller, and yes, the panels were made by CTLite. As far as I know, every one of them in 420 journals, including mine, failed. The manufacturer may have corrected the design flaw ... But beware.
