Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spectrum

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Hi Ice,

What is your experience with girlscout cookies? It sounds like it's a pretty common strain on cali. I've been contemplating getting some seeds but have been let down before by so called clone only in seed form. Growing out the white s1 had changed my mind a little lol.

Thanks bud:thanks:

GSC is one of my favorite strains, I am so sad that I had the Thin Mint cut for like 2 years and I wasn't paying attention and it died. If you can get a forum cut, or thin mint cut you definitely would be happy. I'm not sure how it is from seed or the reliability of it but I would definitely recommend GSC if you can get a real deal cut :)

Here are some photos of the last of my cookies

Whoa! Holy Moly,

That stuff looks incredible. Thanks for the info Ice! I might have to drop some cash. CC has thin mint pheno fems, but I bought a pack of pure 98 bubba kush that went 0 fer 6. Never had that happen before or since so I've kind of had a grudge against them. Others here have had fantastic results with cc though. Time to go search some journals :) :thanks:

I just harvested some Girl Scout. Good yield if you grow big. I used #10 pots and had good experience with this strain.

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Quick update everyone!

So both tents right now are looking very happy and growing along steady. 2 days ago I fed the girls a mix of r/o water with:

hydrolyzed fish
hydrolyzed squid
humboldt bloom (soft rock phosphate liquid) 10% calcium
humboldt equilibrium 1-1-2 12%Ca/2% Mg
epsom salt

Today the plants are all in good posture and reaching for the lights in each tent, and lots of nice new bright green growth is showing.

The flowering tent (Budmaster GOD-4 panels) (still in veg):

This tent is looking just about ready to flip to flowering and I am just waiting on 2 things. The Ogiesel needed a little TLC and to regain some health because I think I trimmed it way to hard and put it into shock for a while so its been a little slower to suck up water and show new growth but its coming along. I am also waiting on my clones of the 4 tangies and the ogiesel to show roots before I flip them, just in case I need to re-clone them I would rather do it from veg instead of early flowering. I imagine by either this weekend or early next week I will be flipping the girls to 12/12. I reduced the time from 18/6 tonight to 16/8 as well. I noticed that some of the plants are showing what looks like a slight Mg deficiency and also K so I will be adding some more equilibrium to the next feeding which will be a compost tea. (equilibrium is a 12/2 Cal mag with a 1-1-2 made up of many of the goodies that are great for a healthy soil)

Here are photos of the girls under Budmaster GOD-4's:

The Veg Tent (Budmaster COB-X-4 panels):

All 6 of the ladies in this tent seemed to really have adjusted quickly to the topping and are showing some nice healthy new growth. Since the blue dream and harlequin are slightly older by a few weeks than the rest, they are a little further ahead and sucking up water faster than the others so I will be starving all of them until near-wilt and then feeding them compost tea for their next feeding to really create that strong root base and a healthy soil life :) per gallon of water or nutrient solution.

Well I was thinking about entering my purple pheno in the Nug of the month contest because its so beautiful and I was shooting photos of it. Here are a couple photos of the pheno #6 the purple pheno of the tangie

I was looking at all the other jars of each plant and noticed something funny looking on my plant #5 jar. Most of the Jars had dried by now and are being burped to get that final bit of moisture out, but for some reason plant #5 was taking longer to dry that it should have. I made the mistake of trimming and jarring up the plants too early and they were a bit moist for my liking when I actually finished and realized they had a ways to go.. Unfortunately plant #5's buds developed mold... I'm pretty pissed at myself as well as disappointed as #5 (the short fat one) had an incredible smell and such nice buds I was really hoping to see how she turned out. Not all the buds were moldy so I removed all the ones that I found with mold on them from the others, and took them out of the jar and put them in an open tupperware dish to dry them better, and ran my UV-C germicidal light over them in hopes to slow and kill off any mold spores that it hit... such a bummer. I still may manage to get most of the jar saved as only a few buds that were stuck together and tighly packed were effected, but I will keep close watch..

I've never had this happen, ever... so I'm wondering how it happened. I think I made the mistake of not drying the plants enough. I should have removed some of the fan leaves before drying to allow for a better dry. I also think I should have washed the jar from the previous use as maybe somehow that was how it was introduced. Either way I hope that most of it stays unefected, but still bummed as it smells so good right now... like tangerine candy..

Hey Icemud. Sad as I am for you, I'm very glad you posted so openly about it and gave us pictures to see for ourselves.

I for one appreciate the information and feel many others would have just kept this to themselves.

Hey arteekay,

It happens to the best of us at one time or another, it was my mistake for rushing the process and trying to cram too much into too little time. Its ok because I still have 5 jars that are unaffected and really dank :) and most of this jar is not affected which is good, only about 1/4oz of buds that will have to be trashed, but will have to check the remaining with my 30x lupe to make sure... don't wanna be ingesting any mold.

I definitely don't mind being truthful, I've learned the soul lives a happier life if lived honestly.

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

I lost a jar from my last grow in the same way. I just trashed whole jar. Mold is a bad thing. Just throw it all away, it's not worth it if you get sick.

800w HPS 1st grow. Millertm's - Girl Scout/Cinex - Grow Journal - 4'x4'x6.8' Tent - 2015

Luckilly I spotted it early enough, I washed the jar, removed all buds with any signs of mold, left the buds out in open air to completely dry with the heat up all day and night, and now they are completely dry. I will check them with my 30x lupe and anything thats questionable will be tossed. fortunately I caught it in time so I should be able to save most of it, hopefully :)

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Well, more bad news... seems as my purple phenotype has also molded, plant #6... bummer..

I rushed my drying and jarred them way before I should have, and had no circulation fans going while drying either while also leaving the lights on and no budwashing... what a shame... oh well. things to learn for next grow.... lesson learned, never rush things meant to take time... poor results follow. I did notice that the 3 largest cola's were dry and moldless, so not a total loss and I will be able to sample it but still not happy to lose almost 1/4lb due to mold.

So I discovered this during my final weighing of the buds after they are all dry now. I left all jars open for the day/night with my heater on high because I didn't want any more jars to become effected and luckily after close inspection of just about every bud and every jar, all the other jars seemed to be safe with no mold...whew... so at least I have 4 jars to last me until next harvest a couple months away...

So here are the final weight totals

Plant #1: 44.8g
Plant #2: 51.9g
Plant #3: 45.9g
Plant #4: 28g (hermi that was pulled really early)
Plant #5: 40.4g (molded and will be thrown away)
Plant #6: 56.1g (molded and most will be thrown away)
Plant #8: 60.6g

Now to do the grams/watt is a little tricky since I vegged and did half flowering with Adv LED and the last 40 days of flowering with the Budmaster COBS.. 500w vs 400w... not sure how to figure it out so I guess an average between the 2 wattages? not that gram per watt really means anything but its still good to know...

Total yield 327.7g or .81 Grams/watt. @400w
Total yield 327.7g or .65g/watt @500w
Total yield 327.7g or .72g/watt @ 450w average???

So far my highest Gram/watt for my grow area.. not too bad if looking at the final 40 days with 400w..however I really don't know how to rate this one because of different lights...overall still not bad and one of my better G/watt ratios :) the weight was about in the middle of the road of all my grows...

Here are my total weights for all of my grows and G/w
Grow 1: 1000w HID (400w CMH + 600w HPS) Total yield 574g or .57 grams/watt
Grow 2: 1000w HID (400w CMH + 600w HPS) Total yield 547g or .55 grams/watt
Grow 3: 1000w HID (400w CMH + 600w HPS) No Yield Data (Powder Mildew took over)
Grow 4: 1000w HID (400w CMH + 600w HPS) Total yield 325g or .33 grams/watt
Grow 5: 580w (400w CMH + Mars II 400w) Total yield 245g or .42 grams/watt
Grow 6: 540w LED (3x Mars II 400/180w models) Total yield 308g or .57 grams/watt
Grow 7:>300w LED (2x Intelligent Gro, GEN1, 180w each on dimmer) Total yield 191g or .63 grams/watt
Grow 8: 540W LED (3x Intelligent Gro, GEN2, 180w draw each) Total yield 367g or .70 grams/watt
Grow 9: 494W LED (2x Advanced LED XTE300, 247w draw each), Total yield 391.4g or .79grams/watt
Grow 10: 750W LED (3x Advanced LED XTE300, 247w draw each, Total yield 475.1g or .63G/Watt
Current Grow (2x Advanced LED first 30 days of flowering (247w each), 2x Budmaster COB-x-4 at 400w total) Total yield 327.7g or .81g/watt @ 400w, .65g/watt @500w)

Now to note on the observations as well as research:

The higher the wattage typically the lower the Gram/watt

The higher the wattage/PPFD the higher the THC content.

I hope you don't mind Icemud, but I'll be using the post above as a template for my own journals.

Fantastic info presented clearly.

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Dang Ice, hate to hear about your mold problem. Unfortunately I have had the same problem in the past and it can be heart breaking, especially after you have put so much, time, thought, effort, attention, and love into growing them. As a remedy, I now slightly to moderately over dry my buds before jarring them, and then I put in some 62% Boveda packets to rehydrate and keep the packets in the jar for the entire storage lifetime. So far (knock on wood) I have not had the mold problem again. Looking forward to see how your next batch of babies turn out. I am sure they are going to be completely awesome, just like all of your other grows (no pressure, lol).

You made me laugh out loud, when several pages back, you talked about how strange it probably looked when you were using a 30x loop in conjunction with your camera to take some close-ups. I have attempted the same thing in the past, but my results were no where near as successful as yours. It would have worked if I had at least two other hands! I finally got frustrated and said the hell with it! Hahaha!

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Hi Ice,

Fantastic reminder about proper dry and cure. In my opinion its just as important as the grow. It's Heartbreaking to go through all the work, sweat, time, and love we put in to the grow and then have to dump it in the compost pile.

It's happened to me too :) I'm very happy you have lots of buds that weren't effected. I fudged my whole crop once. Sending positive vibes your way my friend!

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

On the positive, your gram pet watt average is steadily improving. And MUCH better than mine lol. Keep it green my friend! :circle-of-love:

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

I just started using Boveda packs because I was worried about mold during the summer. I let the buds dry for 4 days and put them in jars with the packs and the bud stays perfect during the cure process. I feel much safer now.
