I Ain't Afraid Of No Ghost - Seedsman's Purple Ghost Candy Comparative Grow SIP/SCROG

My goal in a net is to achieve the highest yield and a high end overall quality.. less small buds/ not fully mature fruit is undesirable so I use the net to even out the overall quality of the Bag.
I Love large colas but imo you can achieve 200+ colas with one plant or one big honker with a few sidekicks lol. The more sites that can reach the "show" or top of the net the better imo.
I would personally keep vegging until that net is full... On day 1 and day 21 and day 45 flower I defoliate pretty heavy.
What I find during defoliation on day 1 , is that my plants are Much smaller and have way less sites on them than it looks with leaves.. so nowadays I go for "too full" in veg to ensure after first defoliation it hits the mark I want! Hope this helps dude!
I should add I run CO2, have great environmental control, and have a stable nutrient regiment. What works for my setup may not work for yours! So take that allll into consideration.. you know your space the best and your strain the best so I say go with your gut! The above is just my style
😎 This is a 5x5 cage for this Big Mimosa girl .. one plant. It was vegged into the net via weaving and tucking ✌️

Ok so it seems general consensus is to fill the net.

Thanks @g-one-three @Papa OG @StoneOtter @Tokin Roll @LKABudMan and @noydb07

Internet searches are fine for the general idea but it is from growers like your selves that the real knowledge comes out!

So my plan is now to add on at least 2 more weeks for veg, until that net is full and then it’s flip city!

You ought to check out my current journal if you have the chance, it's in the third week of flower and the scrog screen is full.

Most of the plants I've watched of this strain, really stretch hard. :hmmmm: :) So, unless you have lots of headroom, lot's of net filling after flip, before you let them go vertical, will allow all those nodes that you've laid horizontal, to start reaching for the light, giving you a full screen that doesn't grow into your light.🤠:bong:

Day 40 - Veg Day 20 of 48ish:

Busy weekend this week both in the tent and out!

So I have extended veg from my original plan of 4 weeks to 6 - 7 weeks or whenever the majority of the net is full.

With that being said I have employed a little LST on them to help get those lowers out to the edges.

In doing that I noticed that I’m getting some spotting and just on Slimer. So todays feeding increased from 4.5 to 5gr/gal and another dose of Bushdoctor in efforts of keeping that from spreading.

They are also both looking a little lethargic. I have my temp set at 80° and I am able to maintain that. Wondering if I should knock that back 2°

Other than that they seem to be cruising along. I am thinking that I’m just not keeping up on their nute demand. Will see how they are looking tomorrow.

looks to me like there might be a Ca deficit

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking too. That’s why I bumped up the nutes and did another addition of Bushdoctor. Must be my water makeup or something that I seem to keep having small Ca issues. I know it’s going to happen, looks like I might need to increase my frequency of Bushdoctor to every other week instead of every 4th week is where I think I’m at now.

Or I’m not increasing my nutes quickly enough, which could be the case. This is why I’ve m keeping a grow log in a spreadsheet :)

Not a major issue at all and I have a feeling that the increase in nutes and Bushdoctor will fix it.

...but it's a little strange!
I haven't read it that often before, but looks like it is an "up-to-date problem".
A friend of mine just had it too and solved it with bannanas... - he wanted to try it and it worked out.
A few days ago Zamnesia had an Ca issue article on their main site too... - strange isn't it?

Banana peel water. Know about it 🫶 it's good stuff...gives plants what they crave...😉
read about it and told him, but never tried by myself

We use it on mater’s especially the Roma’s. It helps with end rot

I don’t and I will have to think on how to achieve that. Might take a secondary heater on a timer with a secondary inkbird. I will have to mull that one over

Day 41 - Veg Day 21 of 48ish:

They are starting to almost empty their reservoirs every 24 hours now. So looking at them and the .5 increase yesterday they seemed to be ok with that so I jumped to 5.5gr/gal which I think is about the max that’s recommended. Though, with my VPD being optimized and DLI on the high end of the charts they might need a little extra nutes.

Tomorrow they jump up in both VPD and DLI.

Did a little tucking today and some readjusting of LST as well. While I was at it I looked around for any new signs of Ca issues and I am not seeing anything yet. Hopefully I got ahead of it :)

Day 42 - Veg Day 22 of 48ish:

So not seeing any additional spots, but the spots previously noticed are getting more noticeable. I guess it was too late to salvage those few spots.

Also noticing a slight lightening in color for both plants but I think it is just in the new growth. Everything below is still a good color green.

They didn’t empty their reservoirs yet today so I am going to let them ride until tomorrow and dry out the media a little.

VPD increases today from .9 to 1.0

DLI from 40 to 45 which is where they will stay the remainder of veg.

Dehumidifier got here today so that is ready to pop it at anytime to help get my VPD up when it comes to flower.

That’s it for today. And in case you dont know, I ain’t afraid of no ghost!

Your ladies look Voluptuous!

I forgot to mention the aroma these girls have recently. The only way I can describe it is minced mint. If you have ever taken a mint leaf and squished it and rolled it into a ball between your fingers, that smell. So you get the vegetable and mint smell.

It’s so odd.
