Hypo Hippy's first indoor grow

Question for you boys....got a debate here on temps. In your opinions, what would you say is the best day/night temp spreads? We are trying to fine tune our heater situation to get the best results. Ain't easy considering the overnight lows here in the deep South have been all over the place this winter. Just wanted to throw that out at y'all....let me know what your thoughts are on the subject. Thanks in advance.

Alright....see that I didn't ask the question quite right. Thanks for the reply BeI...but what temps are you looking for? 65-75? I know you said 7 degrees...are you being facetious? Just scratching my head and trying to make sense of all the stuff I have read. Thanks

a little of both.....;) My day time temps are usually around 75 and nightime temp is around 68..... I usually shoot for 10 degree difference between day and night.....:ganjamon:

What kind of negative issues could I have if I'm having a much wider gap in temps, lets say (mine for instance) 82 high 63 low?:reading420magazine:

They will just stretch a little bit more. I have had 20 degree jumps in the summer, just seemed like the buds were not as tight as they usually were, so yield may suffer a little bit too...

You know Be IRIE, that is how my last crop was. Not tight at all, but also lacked in potency. I wonder?

Those are almost my exact temps bro...doesn't seem to be hurting me much or wow if a tighter range would of doubled Lilbit's size....:smokin2:.

I don't look forward to this summer...swamp cooler is gonna have my house chilled to 55 degrees when lights are on. My temps should tighten up, my only worry is humidity then.

:peace:

My grow room has been cold at night (unheated, concrete slab in MA) so 60F at night and 85F by day. and i will probably be a month overdue. They are being slow to pour on the trichs.
My Mazar was a little thin on trichs which is a direct potency issue (I would presume). Wonder if the cooler temps I had contributed to this? I had daylight temps only in the mid or low 70's and low 60's at dark.

Glad to hear that Lilbit and mine are on the same temp scale. Seeing what a fine looking lady she is gives me encouragement.

That would be pretty chilly for the 'humans' in the house! :rasta:

TigerB....sorry so late getting to this discussion, but been real busy today. Your comments on the male flower kind of confused me. Are you saying the little Y thing looks like a male flower to you? Not really with it today, so sorry if being a little slow on the uptake.

Everybody...thanks for joining the discussion on the temps. It is a very confusing subject and one that you get a ton of different answers on.

Yeah man....I know it is early in the process, but the stuff I am seeing looks more girl than boy. Of course things could change, but alot of these little growths look like little flowers without the pistil....at least to me.

A little photo update for today. Question for the forum. Anyone know why the plants tend to wilt in the afternoons? The temps are never higher than 80, they have plenty of water, the fan is blowing on them. They are never wilting in the morning and they never wilted under the MH bulb during veg, only now under the HPS and 12/12. Little help please.

Close-up of Lucille's upper branches.....looks like little girl flowers to me, but I am certainly not biased. Or am I?

View of Lucille in profile...not the best lighting, but you can really see her form shaping up. She's growing lots of tops in her "bonsai" LST training regimine.

HPS shot of the grow room. As Don Imus would say "these Nappy-headed ho's " are stretching out all over the place

Well guys got a little update. Still too early to tell, but from initial findings (albiet not completely conclusive, but what the hell) we may be 5 for 5. It is hard to believe, but two of our plants have pistils for sure. The other three have calyx' that look very female-like. I guess we won't know for sure until they pop hairs (pistils), but the initial findings definitely don't look like male flowers. Sorry no picture updates, but got busy and now they are in the dark! Will post some pics tomorrow. Like some famous Chinese guy once said (paraphrasing) "we are living in interesting times." lol

Wow .. nice garden. Hope you're ready for all the trimming that will come later :yummy::goodluck:

Word......we can only hope (right?) Thanks for dropping in Dro. Always appreciate the posts from all you guys. These babies are going CRAZY! The final verdict hasn't been made yet, but if it turns out 5 for 5 we will be seriously limited for space. Don't want to count the chickens before they hatch, but it is kinda fun, you know? Anyhow, thanks.
