Herbies Desserts to Sweeten Your Day @ Otters

Apart from the novelty and easy of carry, a temple ball is a beautiful thing. However, I need convincing that it is any better than a sprinkling of kief :) Maybe I am not visualizing it's full potential.
Kief made into hash undergoes heating which is the same as decarb
When squeezed together the tricohmes start to ferment like cobbing they get no oxygen

Think of it like cooking how heating and combining can change flavours
Brings to mind of the show ratatouille when the rat finds a mushroom and the cheese and then gets struck by lightning and the flavour changes

Hash..... The original concentrate!!!
That's the rumor that makes sense to me!

As I see the videos, it changes from almost powdery dry to putty like consistency with hot rolling. I can't wait! I had a taste earlier with finger hash and it was delicious! Huge difference from a tester bud I had that was early and raw tasting.

Just a new name for soft hash & @StoneOtter you don’t need to hot roll it you can just heat it & squeeze it together

That's the stuff! It doesn't all make us cough too! I'm getting geared up more every day now! I have my plan almost set in stone! I remember the opium tar, good thing we can't find it I'm thinking. It's getting harder to get off the floor! :p

Sweet thread Joe! Thanks! I didn't know a good cold day would do it! Makes sense! I'll be out there this winter!

This project's been in the works for a while and I have all the equipment to roll it out.

My plan is to use a camping washing machine to extract into water and into 5 gallon filter bags. Then Put the separate puddles of trichomes into a buchner filter to separate it from most of its water. Then shape it into a puck for freezing and micro planing and more drying. Then hot rolling and ball making. I think i have the bases covered.

6 DAYS ON THE HANG UPDATE

Hey all, where does the time go?! It's been 6 days since I cut Muffy down. Hanging to dry since then has made lots of progress taking out water! My theory was to move lots of air inside the tent while removing (exhausting) just enough to keep tent rh a safe rh. It's been 60 to 65% until today. I can see it's time to make a move to slow removal down a little. My rh dropped below 60% today and was moving more in that direction.

I did the first and free thing and that was to shut off the extraction fan and watch rh closely for a rise in there. Those buds are still wet deep inside! it's going to be a few more days I think.

If I see rh raise too much I'll put a timer on the fan and make cycles. If it dives, when it dives I'll either set up a humidifier in the room or they'll be ready for bucking (love that term) and the bucket for burping.

That's the plan.

Your method is so simple I hadn't thought to do it that way. Makes perfect sense for us who get that cold. I used to always get at least a few days or even weeks. It's spotty now things changed the way they did. I have that in my back pocket if we get a chance and I'm feeling up for it! It's free and it makes good hash! My favorite part! Thanks!

APPLE BETTY RIPENING FROM TOP UPDATE

Good day everybody! Big Apple Betty got her last feed and worm castings today! Man she's busy! I'm finding an acceptable amount of bud rot so far. I'm also finding more little caterpillars on buds than I like as well! That brings my using Bassavera bassiana for that to mind. I'm thinking it doesn't work the way I hoped. Next year I'll go back to bt I think.

Anyway, up 4 steps the air got thin but buds got pretty! There was a few rot spots I cut out, not much. I'm thinking these top buds are going to finish before the bottom 2/3 's are.

Just the tops.

@Herbies Seeds I'm amazed at the immensity of this beauty and how easy she is to grow! Thanks!

Looks tops! :thumb:

And not too late to give the BT a shot for the little ones if you're of a mind to kill 'em.
Maybe I should if I can find it. I think a few days for those tops and a week + if possible for the rest. I'm torn a tad. It's so close and she's doing so well is the other hand.

Anyone from the New England area see the grand northern lights display last night? They were spectacular! I've only caught a glimpse twice in life and they were at a distance. This was a full sky event that lasted longer than I stayed out! Bright red was the color! The other times were green. I have to get pics from my daughter.

I wonder if it has anything to do with my hygrometer app losing all my hygrometers and me having to re add them as new today? That happened shortly before we saw them. Edit: All the things in the app came back by themselves a minute ago!

Too cool!

I've had northern lights on my bucket list for decades. I believe southern lights have been visible too but I've not seen them.

Find that BT Stone!

Don't let those fat bugs munch on Big Apple Betty!

Look at her! If I was a caterpillar I'd be telling all my friends, "Party over here!!" :Rasta:

This makes me think it really does need to be used as a foliar treatment to be effective, but the problem is it will kill bees that way. Good luck with the BT Otter!

"They" did it by controlling the sun, obv.

The higher the altitude, the faster they ripen..?. 😄

That's a good idea- those caterpillars will be eating for another week if you let them go...
...give them a little bt to munch on for their final meal....

What a pleasant surprise! My daughter went to Iceland last month and one of the highlights was a day with them there! This was totally unexpected here! Truly a bucket lister!

That's good advise but I'm starting from the top tomorrow. I should have been at it all summer. I think the BB did have some positive effect, just not as much as wanted.

That's the thing. I did use it every 4 weeks foliarly and it just made a little difference. Made sure bees weren't around when I did it but I know if they do land on the plant they may bring it back to the hive. I'm done with foliar. I'll stick with drenches though! I think it helped give them a good start.

Hehe, yes "they" did! I'm dressing better and pouring a drink tonight!

Good points but she'll be done baby the time it'll do any good I think. Tomorrow I'll start, maybe skip a day then go balls to the wall. It's time!

Highya SO,

I'm glad you're well! On the Northern Lights - It was spectacular! I haven't seen them like that since I left Alaska! What a sight! Yeah, they probably went all night, I didn't stay up to notice. I have 3 in the drying room at different days. It'll keep me busy!! Love the harvest, though. The better you delarf, the bigger buds make you smile more!! Have a great weekend, and Happy Smokin'

Good morning Bode! 3 on the hang is awesome! I'm waking up over a cup of coffee and letting it get lighter and going to start harvesting Betty. I agree about the bigger smiles with less larf. Big smiles, bigger buds and smaller work on trim days!

Those lights were something! I've seen tiny bits in the distance a couple of times and was thrilled but this was unbelievable! My daughter took a few pics. The camera brightened the red but not that much.

My back yard that night!
