Hempy Headquarters

I have a plant growing outside that is a pretty nice looking plant. I can't help but notice that every evening about an hour before dark the plant droops/sags and gives the appearance of having been over watered. But in the morning she's happy as a clam again. Might be common, just not something I've encountered before.
I think it’s fairly common. I have cameras in my tents and some strains droop about an hour before or after lights out and then perk up an hour or two before the lights go back on. I think that’s why it’s important to make timer adjustments slowly over several days, but that could just be another silly stoner thought of mine.

There are no silly stoner thoughts my friend. Just thoughts that are silly when you look at them next time you're straight.

I am sitting here this morning in a bit of a sullen mood. This summer I set a goal for myself to produce some high quality seeds and crosses. As I looked at my Northern Light landrace plant (one of the prettiest I have grown) that has hundreds of seeds on it a thought occurred to me. When the hell are you going to grow hundreds of Northern Light landrace plants? Sitting next to that plant is a beautiful Hawaiian Indica that was lightly pollinated by a Northern Light landrace male. Probably a hundred or more seeds and same question....when the heck could you possibly grow them?

So little time, so many seeds.

Just think about it. What if you get 8 phenos (random number) but 3 of them suck and 2 of them you don't like. That leaves you with 3 great phenos. I figure as you start growing them out more, and since you are a detail oriented guy, you will likely learn to recognize who is who early on and will be able to cull early and replace those with more seeds, and on and on and on.
My 2¢

I'm very anxious to see what the Hawaiian Indica crossed with my Northern Light IBL produces. So anxious in fact I waited just two days to dry one of these seeds and dropped it into a hempy solo cup. Chances are good it doesn't germinate. A combination of being harvested a bit prematurely, and also not drying long enough (for me) but you never know.

That's why I started my breeding seeds already. No patience. I had the (mazar x Guerrero) x Columbian Red Point less than 48 hours and I had 4 soaking with what is barely a plan. Lol. I planted them yesterday, and then I go into the tent this morning and half of my big 250watt cfl is toast...........

Here's my SODK at day 49. The leaves are starting to yellow a bit between the veins and there are a few brown spots here and there on the leaves. I just backed off on the nutes because I noticed a little clawing and slight burning on the tips. I think I have a magnesium deficiency? I ordered some Cal-Mag today and it will be here on Thursday. Any thoughts?

I am just in my first grow in hempy pots. So trust me I am NOT an expert. That said I am finding that the plants I am growing seem to crave the CalMag like a vampire craves blood. I use 2x what I would normally use. I urge you to wait to hear from the more experienced hempy growers like @Tead or @FelipeBlu or @SweetSue to chime in and see what they would advise.

This is my first hempy grow. I had read that hempy's like the cal-mag, but didn't have any on hand. I had hoped the GH FlorsNova bloom had enough in it for the hempy.

My first hempy grow (using GH nutes) the plants needed cal/mag bad so I’ve used it every watering since without seemingly causing issues.

I’m currently doing a comparison between my usual mix (Rx Green + Cal/mag + Silica) vs just straight MegaCrop and haven’t seen any cal/mag or other issues so far with the MegaCrop plant.

Burned tips and curled leaves are generally attributed to the beginning stages of an over Nitrogen situation.... I'd back off the nutes, but that's what you did anyway... so it's good.
You could flush and replace with a lower mix rather than just backing off on the next feed.... but I leave the details to folks that use liquids and other magic.... I've been in Osmo grows for too long to advise in the liquid nute world really.

I think the Cal-Mag chart calls for 3-5ml / gallon of water. When growing in soil I used to use approximately 3-3.5ml. In my mix for the bigger girls I'm using 5-6ml per gallon. They seem to do okay till they get near or into flowering then need the extra Cal-Mag. And it's not every strain I have found.

I concur. Unless you have Hard water (121-180 ppm CaCO3), you will likely need to add CalMag. 1 tsp (5ml) per gallon is standard, and depending on the product, will provide about 45 to 70 ppm Ca and about 15 to 20 ppm Mg.

The beauty of hempy is that you can make these nutrient changes immediately.

Me neither. The MegaCrop seems to be a pretty good product at a reasonable price. I’m almost out of my free 230g sample (using it on all the container plants around the yard), and will be ordering a larger supply soon.

The MegaCrop has a bit more Ca and Mg than most. One teaspoon (6g)/gal provides 104 ppm Ca and 32 ppm Mg. I have very soft water (~10 Ca and 2 Mg), and I’m not seeing any signs of Ca or Mg deficiencies without using anything but MC.
