Hempy Headquarters

Is that 100% perlite?

This thing did have a decent amount of moisture weight to it even though it was 48hrs after last watering. The 5:1 ratio sounds about right.

So far so good. She never got very big, and the other two are basically about the same size.

From what I can tell, I'll like everything about this strain except for the color, lol. I kind of hope mine got the genes for remaining green. It looks like reports state that the potency would still be there, regardless.

Hey folks! Been 2 weeks since an update. You know cuz... Life. We are still in the process of moving so painting and carpeting and landscaping and work and... Life. The plants are coming along nicely though. They wer the first thing i moved to the new digs. Ps it sucks living in two places at once. The girls have grown quite a bit in the last 2 weeks. Theyre overdue for some training but im trying to decide to scrog or not to scrog. This is like week 3-3.5 in veg though Im not really keeping track this time, just flipping them when they look ready. Which they almost do. My haze is about a week or so behind the others and im holding off on flower just to let it catch up a little more. Again, im always in a rush so the photos aren't the best. Someday i will have the time to take them out and give them the photo session they deserve. Lol. Maybe after haircuts.
Anyway... GSC, LSD and ChemDawg plus the little purple haze that could.

The GSC is outta control. Im supercropping like crazy to keep her down with the others. Middle of next week or so I'll be swapping the 2 mars 300s out for the 400wat hps and flipping because the in house supply is nearing drought. Thankfully i have a quart of kickass tincture to hold me over. Im excited to amoke this gsc again. Its the most uppy type ive grown yet. Makes mebyearn for a full sativa. A Panama or Oaxacan like i smoked in the late 80s. I loke indicas but mam i hate being a lazy stoner. Lol
Thanks for letting me share! Lolz Keep em green everyone. <3

The haze-type strains that I grew back in the day ("It was a Wednesday..." ;) ) would have flowered - and stretched - long enough to have caught up with a lot of more indica-leaning hybrids well before harvest time.

Yeah, it stretched like hell last time i grew it. Problem is so does this version of gsc so I'm trying to balance trimming the gsc back and letting the haze catch up. That haze is something else man, and i really want to get a good bit it of it. I may end up sticking it in a tent by itself with a mars 300 to let it veg a little more and then throw it back in the closet to flower with the others.

Getting ready for a reset. I am going to use 3 gallon buckets this next run. The lid should allow me access for watering and keep algae down. Added a rubber grommet to push in some flexible drain hose so I can collect run off easier.

Ya know... You'd sure think a drain hose on a hempy bucket would be a good thing... but Tead bets you pull it out early on because of plugging issues.
Been there... tried pretty hard to make it work. When you get to the point of trying to put a screen in the setup, you may find it not worth the grief.
Don't beat your head on it too hard.

Lol, I thought about the drain hose as well, but that would mean cutting a perfect circle and then doing work and then raising my pots which is even more work. Also I have enough problems with clogging. As it stands I sometimes have to stick a big stem in every now and then to clear roots from the drain.

Plugging up from what? I grabbed some chunkier perlite for the bottoms. I was hoping to stick some hose in the hole as I water at minimum to collect the majority of the run off.. A more permanent solution would be ideal.

Runoff is always a messy affair.
I have always thought that using a large drainage tray with a little submersible pump to be run after feeding would work okay.

Here are a couple of my babies. Just because

I tried the pump but it always clogged. Now I use a shopvac.

Yeah, I just water over a bucket until it mostly stops dripping, the throw them back in the tent and soak up the remains with an old towel every couple days. My low humidity allows for a bit of laziness

I’m so lazy I don’t even take them out of the tents, I have my tents lined with plastic trays and water them in place and (sometimes) vacuum up the runoff.

It actually took me a bit to figure out what everyone was talking about when discussing taping up the hole. I have to bring in and out all my water in 5 gal buckets so for my backs sakes I try to not have a lot of runoff.

I wondered about possible siphoning below the level of the hole, due to the wicking(?) action of the media. But I figured it to be unlikely.

I tried a little nipple

Most of us have ;) .

That must suck. No easy way to run a cold water line into that space?

Speaking of backs, it'd be nice if everyone had real high ceilings in their grow rooms - could make a table the (practical) floor and never stoop again.
