Hempy Headquarters

Have you tried since the upgrade Herb? Top right on the menu line, choose "420 Entertainment" then go to galleries. At the top of that page, above the gallery listings, there's an option to load

I hadn't, but I just saw the sites posting on their coming upgrade, so I'll be around more after that. I've still been following the thread in the meantime, just not posting. I'll have some things to post after the weekend anyway ..

What hotline guy told you that? Admittidly, I've never had this difficulty with COBs, so he may be right, but that looks like what I see when the cal/mg levels are off in my hempies. It's typically a concern under the blurple LEDs. I do have the problem under my quantum boards when they're turned up too high. It's asking the plant to process more energy than it can without assistance, or at least that's the way I look at it. Any of your other plants looking testy?

It may be that hempy needs the cal/mg. Soil does a different job of processing things.

Hey Sue, I've yet to add any calmag to any of my hempies yet. Do you follow the manufacturer suggestion for calmag, or a lower dose?

i was just about to ask sum1 on here what could be used as a replacement for cal/mag since i only got one feeding to my girls with the cal-mag in it and oh boy did they love it lol started going super green over night lol but yea now im out till next payday so would u suggest i use the milk and epsom salt for one or two feedings till i can order some cal-mag?? also was that amount per gallon or per liter?? thank you all for all the help :Namaste:

2tsp each per gallon.
I totally use it when I forget to reorder CalMag. When you switch, give them a bit of a flush to push the old milk out and hopefully avoid some stank.

When Hempies go blaaaahp

This post is an object lesson about bad choices.

Prior to going hempy, I was running a perpetual in soil. I had some issues but my flower area was holding 3 or 4 plants at any one time and yielding an average of 2.5 oz per plant. Because of winter cold, and the weakness of 'cooking' recyced soil in 7 gallon batches, I jumped both feet in to growing in hempy.

Error #1: I lowered PH from my 6.5 RO water
Error #2: When the plants were not thriving in late veg, I tried to 'fix' them in flower
Result: My flow of plants into flower ground to a halt and I only have 2 wimpy plants in flower.

Wimpy plant #1, Ace Haze x Kali China, at 72 days - Her mother did about 98 grams in 71 days.

Buds are cloudy, no amber and starting to foxtail. I estimate 18 grams. I'll give her another week.

Wimpy plant #2, Ace Guawi, at 60 days - Her mother did 98 grams in 93 days. - I estimate 5 grams.

What's up with this photo? Why is the algae line 1/2 way thru the pot? That always happens at the top... not 1/2 way down. Seems pretty brownish too.

Tead,
Very Odd! How the heck did that happen? Never seen algae in the middle of a Hempy ... Top a little, and even at the drain hole, but light must be getting into the middle .. but how?

Peace
Keith

I followed Tead's lead and went with 2 tsp per gallon of water used. It stopped my cal/mg problems on the spot. :battingeyelashes:

I'm glad you'll be posting pictures Herb. We love pictures.

I had a new hempy girl go into flower this week. I did with her what I started doing with my soil girls and upcanned her into twice the perlite at flip.

That's CBD Critical Cure 2.8 on the right, next to CBD Critical Cure 3, a new genetic line from seed. I find it amazing how differently they express.

Larger leaves on on all the hempies. This girl won't stay in this tent. She's waiting for my Dinachem to get harvested so she can slip into that space. The tents are warmer than the open spaces and the hempies do better with cool, while my soil communities need the heat, so another soul plant will take this slot after the musical chairs begins.

I love growing hempy. I love growing in soil with Doc's Kit too, but I'll be honest and admit that the hempy is taking my heart and my passion. At some point I can see myself walking away from soil. It won't be until I use up all of this soil, so we have another year to go, from what I can see.

Thank you Tead, for introducing me to hempy. :hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

Rad, that hurt to see. :hugs::hugs::hugs: I've been there, and I can assure you, better days are ahead. I fried my first hempy attempt too. As I recall, I tried to cull her a couple times and couldn't. The second run was much more effective, but still struggling. I shifted nutrients, and that made all the difference. Tead's put in time to work out the Osmo in his garden. I couldn't make it was well work in mine.

I'm sorry it went so bad for you. I hate to see one of us get low on supplies. Are you going to be OK?

Hey Sue, Your plants are looking great!

I was thinking 2.5ml/gallon but 2 sounds good, especially if that's what you and Tead both are using. I'm using tap water also. I'm not sure of the content, but I think I should still be feeding with calmag.

I use 3ml per gallon of Cal/Mag per gallon in Hempy, mostly just because it is one dropper full and has always been neither too much or not enough. My nute mixing is kinda whacky though, trial and error for the most part, off label values normally. In my garden, pH and water temperatures are two critical factors in perlite. Two cents at best!

Peace
Keith

I'll be fine. Personally, I do fine without.

I was worried that the family might be upset at the forced "tolerance break" so I doled out the rations from my latest Carnival harvest and said "Make it last 2 months." One family member promptly took 1/4 their ration and sold it to another family member at inflated prices. The family will be OK

I'm currently running 5 hempy and 6 soil in veg.

With water PH relaxed back up to 6.5, the hempy girls are growing about the same as the soil girls.

Right now it's a slightly better than even chance that a hempy will be my next normal sized harvest.

Dang, I start seeing problems when my PH is that high in my hempys. I just had to flush an osmo hempy that's PH had gotten too high, started clawing all the leaves. Other than that plant, my PH has been pretty steady at 6 for the past several weeks, for both my osmo hempys and my lucas formula fed hempys. I'm seeing some really nice plants emerging too XD

I'd say they're doing really well Herb. :high-five:

Damn! Hempy rocks! :slide:

Thanks! I feel like I’m starting to understand a lot more about my plants .

So am I Herb, and I find it invigorating to feel my instincts begin to kick in. :yahoo: I came in with a dying husband, who passed near the end of my first grow, so grief took another year out of the three I've been here. Then I found my passion for the med threads, and let me tell you, that can get demanding, both from a time perspective and in the emotional investment.

I've been running on gut instinct for years now, feeling often like I'm just one step ahead from having it all slip away. :laughtwo: Only now am I finding myself responding to the plants in a way that shows me I've been paying attention, more attention than I noticed.

I admire your results with the Osmocote Plus. To what do you attribute your success? I burned the hell out of a couple of mine. They still gave me close to an ounce each though, so I can't really complain. One of the successes was the Ultradawg that opened the journal, so I guess I didn't do too bad. The success I have with the RX Tech nutes is so spectacular compared to Osmo, but the cost is rediculously high. So far I've been able to get funds to cover them, but my soil system costs a fraction of what I pay for the RX. I still have that bottle of Osmo Plus teasing me. Lol!

Not having to pH and ending up with plants like this will keep me using the expensive nutrients.

Ya know... we all like to ignore the ugliness. Bonus points for speaking of it.

Cold blooded cut-throat behavior.... keep an eye on that wicked one... they're goin somewhere.

I assume barter was involved.... what did it cost?
