Hempy Headquarters

It should flush out Dabber. If you're looking to flush it entirely I'd think block the hole to let it fill completely, then release. Do that a few times until you're satisfied. In my head that sounds like a reasonable.

How long does this chemovar go? Are you close enough to the end that we might be looking at end of life necrosis? She's a frosty one. :battingeyelashes:

That is exactly what happened to my last girl. Don't remember what nutes you're using... AN?
I used AN for dwc and they were great but when i switched to coco, and then perlite, i started having this problem.
I got a Mg deficiency first and then at about week 3 or 4 from flip it started getting the tip burn/curl and margin burns. I caught it in time to not completely devastate my yield but i know i hurt it a little.
Rifleman ran a side by side with Remo and AN and said he noticed a much heavier salt accumulation with the AN.
Ive since switched to maxigro and maxibloom. Im loving the 1-part nutes so far.
Gonna flush a few times this grow fo sho tho.
I agree with Sues flush method. Just make certain you tip your pot over and get as much water as you can out between fill-ups. Got a TDS? Check initial ppms and then check em after a flush or two.

I had two harvest this past week.

Devil's Carnival 1.2 came down first, filled with nanners, so she avoided the budwash. I hope to use that pollen, so she's hanging to dry. She finished in 45 days of flower.

Yeah..... this is a hempy. :laughtwo: When I started with hempy I was anticipating smaller plants that could share a tent. Lol! These RX Green Solutions are doing amazing things for my plants, and I'm just following the basic schedule.

IMG_76798.JPG

Yesterday Carnival 4.4 got the chop at Day 69 of flower. As you can clearly see, she took all of her tent too, under my first GROWant GR240. This girl did this under a mere 80 watts from the wall. Yep! I'll be adding to my collection and running another sponsored grow showing how two of the panel's in one of my little plants will blow the next Carnival in here up. She's in soil, so I won't be showing her off here. Lol!

IMG_77205.JPG

This is just part of her buds. The rest were hanging anywhere I could find space. Lol! I'm hoping to get close to three ounces from her, but I'll be happy with whatever it comes out to be. What a delight she was to grow.

IMG_77607.JPG

I think she's the prettiest Carnival I've grown.

IMG_77624.JPG

The one who flew too close to the sun. Lol! Carnival hash tips. This baby belongs to me. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Today I potted up Critical Cure 2.8. The genetic line continues. They don't clone as quickly in the dead of winter.

IMG_78386.JPG

IMG_78417.JPG

I also potted a couple DC clones in solo hempies. These may be tricky, but only because the amounts I'm mixing will be small. Since they'll be daily watering after a while that shouldn't present a challenge for long. I'll mix a set quantity that'll get me through two days. A third will join them, as soon as one sprouts roots.

IMG_78026.JPG

I'm just curious if I can keep them thriving in something this small. I'm considering a system that supplies plants for occasional juicing or eating, as a means to get cannabis into the nutritional diet.

The rest of the hempy girls are doing well.

Malawi 1.2 enters week three of flower.

IMG_78196.JPG

Just beginning to bloom. :cheesygrinsmiley: I hear she likes to ramble. She has the entire space to explore. Lol!

Chem Dawg is slipping into her fifth week of flowering.

Last, but not least, is CBD Critical Cure, entering week six of bloom and looking steller. Happy, glossy, frosty, she oozes contentment.

That's my girls this week. I swear, this is the most fun I ever had growing cannabis. Thank you Rev Tead. :kisstwo:

Try it on a solo cup with dyed water and see how much you would need to flush enough salt out . You don't need all gone just most of you are having issues imo. But I am no expert .
I love this idea!!!! I have it taken care of now. But just scared me. I put at least 30 gallons through her. But will totally keep this in mind .

I have like 7 holes. Hands aren't that big. And.... scrog! So as I said above just put 30 plus gallons through, ppm is down to 250. .. My ppms were as much as the meter would allow yesterday. So I think we can maybe push her 2 more weeks. She's supposed to go about 56 to 67 days. Lots of amber on the leaves not much on the calyx-i or whatever the plural form is lmfao!

Necrosis? Oh hmm maybe??? The lockout isn't helping any though. I'd like to push her to Monday and start flush then if possible.

Ugh. Yeah hmmm. I havent flushed once my entire grow. In The future, if I continue hempy, I plan to flush at flip and after stretch. Should hopefully still have some decent smoke I hope.....

Hey it's like I told Akgramma it's all about having fun. If it's a lot of work sweet! But only if it's enjoyable....
Your plants all look stellar sue I'm hoping between you penny and Arctic someone will harvest before thanksgiving .

Are any of the products you mentioned (sue or laz) doable with out need to ph? Similar to AN Ph perfect?

May just be time for tg is dabber to man up and get a Ph kit.....

Maxigro and Maxibloom are self balancing. I do the standard 7gms/gal with my CaMg and silica and my 7.5 tap water is 5.8 when done. Maybe it's just luck? Ill have to check the bag.

P.s. its probably a good idea to have a pH pen if you're doing hydro. Even with chelated nutes its a good habit to monitor pH. Lots of nutrient problems start with wonky pH. I always have a pH meter and TDS meter and keep them calibrated.

Had to pop back in with an update... The maxi series is very definitely not self pHing. Lol i started using RO again and the maxigro CaMg and silica dropped the pH to like 4.9. I guess i was just lucky having my tap balance out to 5.8. I wanted to clear that up. I'll have some fresh pics soon. Its been a busy couple weeks... Stay green

Appreciate that. Idk if it worked so well before why go back to RO?? That's like a goldmine having your pH come out perfect .. Just messing with you. Can't wait for the update.

I'm actually nearing harvest here my hempy hooligans .

Here's a few shots of my girl GLORIA

I transitioned to hempy at the first of the year. My first grow(s) were in soil and plagued by never ending waves of fungus gnats. I tried DE, soap spray, neem oil, sticky traps (so many sticky traps); and yes, trying not overwater. .

I have one plant that didn't want to die after harvest (CKS Northern Lights Auto), so I'm letting her keep going. Got her out of her soil mix and into a hempy pot on Jan 1st. Cleaned the tent. Returned the girl and there have been zero gnats since.

Dropped a Pineapple Express Auto by Fast Buds on the 1st as well. Doing fantastic so far.

The first Pineapple Express Auto that I dropped was severely stunted by the gnats and was pretty much a lost cause. I let it keep growing because I had the room, and because I kept hoping that I would get the gnats under control and it would perk up. No such luck.

So far I'm a fan of this method. I'm using Osmocote+ in the base mix, but plan to supplement later in the grow. The only problem is that my tent has really low humidity. I may put a pan into the tent with plain water to try and raise the RH.

Welcome BBNT! Sounds good! Yes fungus gnats are a pain in the butt. H202 rid me of the ones I had. Often a thick layer of perlite and DE can help keep them away. Another good one is bottom feeding, where you water only into the runoff tray and let the soil soak up the water it needs. Anyways seems like you've stumbled led upon hempy, which is pretty great!

Check out teads grows when you get a chance. He's the osmo Pro

I'll check out his journal, for sure. Oh, and I forgot to add the hydrogen peroxide to my list of treatments. Lol

I was starting to show some deficiencies and i wanted to be able to know exactly what i was putting in my mix. I'm jealous of people who are like " i use tapwater and no calmag and never have any issues" lol

Gotcha! Yeah I use my tap but also add cal mag.... it's a crap shoot what's contained in those roughly 170 parts per million.

The only problem is that my tent has really low humidity. I may put a pan into the tent with plain water to try and raise the RH.

Happy Sunday good 420Mag folks ...

I like hanging a wet towel wicked to a pan of water in ultra low humidity environments, the increased surface area seems to release more moisture more quickly than just a pan or saucer of H2O, especially with increased air flow. I am cautious and wash the towel every few days to keep mold spores to a minimum. Fungus Gnats ... the little things seem to be among the most difficult buggers to eradicate in soil grows. I too tried all the things you listed and more, once you have them, that grow is usually compromised somewhat. You might reduce the numbers, but eradication requires things that I do not care to smoke! Wash that produce! H202 in the water wash bucket does kill them and you might thousands. Coffee filter the wash water and look with a magnifying glass, you could be shocked at what you see. I often run perlite only hempy and organic soil in the same tent side by side, and those critters can be a challenge sometimes, especially in the warmer months of summer in these parts.

Peace
Keith

I like the towel idea, thanks!

I should have taken pictures of the sticky traps. I killed thousands of the damn gnats and just couldn't eradicate them. Problem solved in an hour when I converted to hempy. Just for that reason I may not go back. Lol
