It's been exactly 14 days since I cut her from the mother. I soaked the perlite-filled cup in a dilution of aloe vera gel and water, dipped the cutting into aloe and then into rooting hormone and nestled her in the perlite. That cup went into an inflated produce bag, to be checked every three days. During that time I flushed her twice with fresh aloe water.
I promised myself I wouldn't check until it'd been two full weeks.
I taped the hole to keep the water in.
Then I filled the cup with distilled water.
A gentle wiggle and she came right out. Roots!! How easy was that?
Scooping the perlite aside to seat her again, the tape got removed and the water drained to the reservoir depth.
She sits in the shadows tonight.
Tomorrow I'll find her a small spot about 24" from the light to start her move towards greater illumination.
