Hempy Headquarters

I use the solo cup hempies to grow roots Jones. :laughtwo: You already have them established. Lol! Get those clones into something bigger than a 20 oz cup. Your T8s shouldn't be causing any problems. I can get right down on top of my plants with a T8 and they won't bother the leaves unless you're near the ballast. They're too cool to burn. But you may be too close for the limited number of leaves to root.

Are you adding CalMag to the water? With soil you have additional buffers perlite doesn't offer and CalMag additions are standard practice.

The yellowing of clones, IMO, is most often due to asking the plant to process more light than the roots can handle. Other than that you're typically looking at a nutrient imbalance.

I need to encourage you to start using my produce bag method and stop butchering the leaves of your clones. This may be one reason mine thrive. The leaves are always intact.

Also, next clone attempt make the stems shorter. You have so many nodes on that stem it's gonna challenge you to control vertical growth. How do you keep them under control once they start producing more growth? Most of us try to keep the structure low and controlled.
Well so far ive never had a clone this tall b4 lol but I do topping and lst, plus leaf bending/tucking and defol oh and I learned from watching pigeons420 on utube training for veg plants where u put the stems between ur thumb n pointer finger and slightly bend them n jus pull up the stem as ur bending and I do tht a couple times a day to keep them bent out and it sorta jus keeps the plant flat and bushy but at the same time letting it get taller as well

Oh also u mentioned to get them into bigger pots then the 20oz so wud a 2liter bottle work or shud it be bigger still??

Oh I forgot to mention that I am not using cal-mag or anything just plain ro water here is a snap of what I got for bottle hydro nutes from top to bottom left to right it goes Buddha grow, Buddha bloom, and trinity bio catalyst all of which are roots organics from aurora then next we got Fox farms grow big hydro veg nutes, then we got astro flower from remo nuterients its not an actual flower nute but it's supposed to help with the flower nutes but since I'm still waiting for my other remo nutes this is what I got oh I almost forgot again I got cal-mag as well so what do u think I shud use?? I was thinking on waiting at least for some of them anyway to see if this coming week my other remo nutes show up and then just go with that for the rest of there life I just didn't want to start using my roots organic nutes or whatever and then have to switch nutes if my other remo bottles show up lol but yea shud I be using cal-mag right now and how often shud I be changing out the water?? I have been going with every 2 r 3 days is that good or shud i do it even more or maybe less lol?? :thanks: every1 so much 4 the help sue u really are an amazing person I hope u know that I'm really glad ur helping me out with everything. :Namaste: every1 n have a great green weekend

The ingredients of the two appear to be substantially similar in nature (magnesium sulfate, et cetera). The coating on Osmocote Plus' prills is, I believe, made from linseed oil (not at all likely to be harmful, AfaIK). And Mom has been enjoying "Osmocote Plus tomatoes" every day ;) .

But I do understand your concern. Enough so that, when I recalled your post just now, I sent an email to the company about it. I assume that a company representative will respond to my question on Monday of, if they receive a lot of emails, shortly thereafter.

I will try to remember to post the information I receive.

I haven't forgotten - the company is just slower than I am. I finally received the reply, and it stated blah blah, yack yack, yadda yadda, "Since Scotts Osmocote Plus Outdoor & Indoor is a straight fertilizer, it can be used around all edible plants. There is no wait time between the application of the product and harvesting the plants."

Gotta catch up on a few posts but Blazejo, what's your technique for the hempy clones!? I'm very intrigued. Would love if you could share. And also is your flux plant in a hempy??

Also maybe give your roots a lol h202 mist look a little brown imo bit dude I'm sold on your cloning process. I was going to clone on straight coco, as I've heard results are great, but I can't argue with your results look great!

My hempy clones are in 20 oz foam cups tht I taped up n jus used plain perlite but will be uppotting them into 2liter bottles but my seeds I'll start in the 20 oz n clones start in 2liters from now on and now as for my fluxed girl no she is not hempy she is in a los (living organic soil) mix and in a 5gal home depot bucket I converted into a grow bucket but a few are different sizes even tho they all said 5gal buckets when I got them but wen I got home they wud be bigger or smaller by alil bit so some are more then 5gal I believe but still u get the idea lol but yea I hope I answered ur questions if u meant how am I doing my hempy technique as in what nutes and the amounts and what not well I will be doing to different runs one with roots organic bottle nutes n the other remo nutes well hopefully that is if my remo nutes show up lol otherwise it will be just the roots organic but for right now I'll jus be adding in some cal-mag

The reason they looked like that was from my flash I think I seen tht to n kept tryn to get it out of the pic cuz they r bright white wen I look at them in person but the pic turned it Shity lol yea guys I was wondering if I use cal-mag in my ro water shud I ph balance it b4 I feed the clones?? Just asking cuz I was talking with sum1 on here bout using remo nutes sweetsue gave me the name of the guy but I can't remember it right now lol I think it might be rifelman or sumthn lol idk but anyway he was saying jus do mix up small amounts of the nutes and don't ph so shud I ph if I'm just using the cal-mag or no?

Helps yea brotha lookn good blue dream has always been a top favorite of mine I'm jelly over here great job what type of nutes r u using??

Tead and Sweet Sue introduced me to Osmocote Plus in their hempy grows and it was what I had been using on my azaleas. So it was handy when I decided to cut my 1 gal vinegar jug for hempy.

I found half a quart of Chemdawg buds in the vault three days ago. I've already been through that point of confusion in my wake n bake this morning and found myself mesmerized by the tent girls and decided to groom some of the girls and the hempies were easiest to remove.

I'm growing my own S1 Blue Dream seeds in hempy and in 1 gal soil pot. Two smaller hempy pots ( 24 fluid oz ) have clones of the seeds' parents. It's all genetically interesting.... I thought you might enjoy a few more photos.

Now to satisfy the munchies....Cinnamon buns will be ready in about 20 minutes.

My 1st full Hempy is a auto Siberian Haze. She is 1/2 as much taller than her old sister was and still stretching. She is also my 1st Osmo+

Now all my new girls are Hempy and Osmo+. Starts I've gone back to soil, they just seem to grow faster

Hey blaze. I know swagificent is using remo nutes in coco.... his babies looks great! He's at like 300 ppm. Seems to be thriving. We germinated at the same time and his are showing very vigorous growth.

Here is my hempy clones now in 2 liter bottles n gave a fresh watering with cal mag n I phed it to 6.8

20170911_010538.jpg

And here is the rest of my hempy seedlings in 20oz cups also got cal mag but the ph was 7.0 with these

20170911_010636.jpg

And of course my 2 devils carnival hempy style got a calmag watering and ph is also 7.0

Looking good blaze!! So do you just put the cut end of the clones down in the hempy res?? How often are you watering and are you using any nutes??

For hydro it is suggested that pH be adjusted to a range 5.8 to 6.3 according to FoxFarms feed schedule.

Thank you Jim. :hugs:

Jones, you may get away with it this watering, so watch them carefully. The pH you're using is perfectly appropriate for soil growing, so your confusion is completely understandable. With hempy we have no soil to buffer the water components, so I try to stay in the neighborhood of 5.5. That's worked well for me so far.

Having said that, both Tead and I have one plant we're experimenting with. I'm switching to nutrients that don't require pH adjustment, but I'm finishing my Thin Mint GSC out with tap water, which comes in at about the 6.5-7 range, and she's showing no signs of deficiency.

Walk cautiously through this step. If they begin to show signs of distress you might want to rethink the pH level.

Hey, Tead: I'm still trying to catch up in the DDA thread. The other day I saw a picture of one of your 2-liter hempy plants - good structure and nice size (for the container). Was that one grown with Osmocote Plus or some other nutrient?

And, speaking of 2-liter bottles: If they're already green, do I really need to paint them? The neighbors might wonder (or worse, not have to wonder) why I'm spray painting them outside, and I really do not wish to do so in my house. I'm hoping that the green will interfere with photosynthesis within the bottle, and prevent algae growth.
