I don’t think there’s any soil that lasts through a whole growing cycle. How’s about it there @Bill284 you know of any? CLHe must be polling your leg.
Promix has a line of actual soil.
But it could never sustain a plant for 3 months.
Was it in a pot?
Or did he have a hole in the ground full of it?
In the ground might work.
Sun and led light was a great combo in the greenhouse.
Our summers aren't exactly the sunniest so the led supplement was vital.
Next year more light spread out better.
I had 1100 watts at one end and 300 at the other.
Poor planning but a last minute fix.
We will see who wants to sponsor it and what they have.
We are with Ontario Hydro here.
Rates aren't horrendous but not cheap either.
I'm thinking solar down the rd a bit.
We don't get much sun so it may be pointless.
Hopefully they get more efficient in the coming years.
I've other projects more pressing.
Like the dam boiler.
They hooked it up wrong.
I have to switch it on and off to get hot water.
Otherwise it just runs forever, fek.
And the grow room needs finished asap.
Lots to do before we think about solar.

LOS. you just have to water it and give it the occasional tea boost.
Takes a while to build it properly full of microbes and nutrients, but actually works.
I can see him digging a hole putting in promix soil and a girl.
If the surrounding soil is rich the plant can make it to harvest with just water.
Not perfect but perfectly doable.
But straight promix bx has no nutrients.
And their soil will get a girl started no problem but in a pot no Bueno .
Before you get her flipped she'll starve.
So either he was pulling his leg or it's in the ground.

I was a little uninhibited in my younger days.
Snuck into Gold Record parties, free booze, food.
Met Rodger Hodgson.
Jumped on stage with Meatloaf.
Snuck into the Kansas City Royals dugout during the playoffs.
The look on George Brett's face was priceless, i had on a Bluejays shirt on at the time .
There was nothing out of bounds.
Racing motorcycles was my passion though.
I loved the speed, couldn't go fast enough.
I Snuck an FJ 1100 onto the runway at Stephenville Airport.
Did 2 runs wide open.
Right down the dotted line
Once I hit 250 kmh I never looked down again.
Then I got the feck out of there.
These days it's all gopro everywhere.
This was early 80's.
I'm a little wiser now, not much just a little.
Coco is as fast as I go now.

It’s a balmy 30F. with lite snow +tomorrow it’s not getting out of the 20s. I despise coldI get that and agree totally.
But next summer I'm going to space them out properly with room to access them.
Be a bit bigger, we'll trained but maybe 10.
I'm going to work on quality not quantity.
I wasn't sure I'd get the grow room built when I started.
So I decided to grow my maximum hoping to have enough for the year just incase.
Great in theory. After a year in the greenhouse I see where I totally blew it and where I got close to getting it right.
I won't be needing a huge harvest and I can space them out and tend them properly.
I appreciate your suggestion.
Given I won't be pressed for volume I'm going to concentrate on growing a few really well.
