Congrats on the nuggets!! So many harvest updates so little time! You present these all so well to us, I truly do love your documentation, HG. I'm with Stone, hope all is well!

Thanks, everyone. All the autos except for one are done.

Life continues to be busy but the days and nights are getting cooler so I'll be back here more regularly then.

It's been a crappy summer weather-wise with lots of rain so anytime there's a nice day like tomorrow (31C and sunny), I spend most of the day by the pool.

I will update you soon on the plants I have growing soon.

Before I put 4 new seeds into water this weekend, I should probably introduce you to Skyla. :battingeyelashes:

SKUNK SPECIAL (1 seed)

Primary Terpenes:Caryophyllene, Geraniol, Myrcene
Genotype:Photoperiod
Phenotype:Hybrid - Balanced (50/50)
Breeder:Female Seeds
Genetics:Mexican, Colombian Sativa x Skunk
Projected Flowering Time:49 to 56 days
Projected Yield:400g/m2
THC %:9
CBD %:8

Our Skunk Special, a.k.a. Red Skunk, stems from the infamous Red Skunk clones that conquered the Netherlands in the late 80s/early 90s. Ferry started working on the Skunk Special in the 90s. The Skunk Special is the result of several S1 lines inbred with a 25% of Automatic. The current line was selected over several generations in order to retain the right and essential Skunk features yet creating a fast flowering strain.

Showing almost no variety between the individuals, this is among the most stable and homogenous strains since it was selected from a few thousand plants. This Skunk Special is a powerful and strong plant with thick, solid stems, creating massively tight buds during the flowering stage. The Skunk Special has gorgeous looking red pistils that give this plant an amazing bag appeal.

Old-School Taste – Less Growing Time
Skunk Special, a 50/50 mix of Sativa and Indica, is a Cannabis strain that was initially a product of 3 races: Colombian, Mexican and Afghan. Much work has been done over the years to improve the quality of this strain in terms of its flowering time while retaining its iconic Skunk qualities.

A Reliable Plant for Everyone to Grow
Easy to manage when growing at home for beginners, requires less effort to maintain and it stretches quite a bit, with big buds, hence it is pleasant to the grower and suitable in soil and hydro set-ups. Individuals are described as almost carbon copies of each other, having little distinction, so each plant is hardy and stable with thick stems that can take the weight of its tight buds.

Skunk Special likes to be fed with good nutrients. Start feeding light and gradually increase the nutes for optimal growth. Light feeding also helps you steer clear from any deficiencies. She definitely likes a lot of light. To be more specific far-red spectrum is what helps her reach her full potential in yield.

A Strong Plant with A Strong Taste
The smell can be described as extremely pungent and citral with the classic cat-piss smell of the old-school Skunk. It is a very clean smoke. A Skunky and slightly sweet taste that is pleasantly acidic towards at the end. A mildly relaxing body high that causes a tingling sensation combined with a very pleasant head high.

420 Update for Skyla - August 5 to 16, 2023.jpg
Skyla was a sneaky girl in that she was planted on July 27 and decided to show up for the show the weekend that I was away so I've put August 5 as her birthdate but she could have surfaced August 4, 6 or 7 for all I know.

Without further ado, meet Skyla on Day 2:

Congrats on the seed drop HG but oof on those auto harvests. :( A couple of them had more PM than trichomes in the pics you posted. I hope they send you replacements for every single one and they all turn out luscious!

Thanks, Shed, me, too. However, I'm having difficulties having them shipped to me. Both The Seed Pharm and @CannaPot are sponsors and I'm waiting on deliveries from both of them but haven't had replies about when I'll get my seeds. I'm especially not happy about Cannapot since I placed my order almost 2 months ago and it was around $300 CDN and haven't received it yet despite the assurance that if I didn't receive my order, it was insured so they would send replacement seeds if I didn't receive them. It's frustrating because I had planned to start some of those ones next.

Regarding:
more PM than trichomes

I washed them all in a citric acid bath before hanging. Do you think they're okay to ingest? Will the PM affect the potency of the bud? The reason I'm asking is because the Jack Herer I grew earlier this year tested at only 7% THC and it had PM in late flower.

Sorry to hear about the seed issues. Have you tried reaching out to Teddy to see if he has any influence over the sponsored ones? Two months is way too long to wait for delivery. My Weed Seeds Express orders used to come in less than three weeks.

I think you'll be fine with capsules since between the decarb and the digestion I haven't read anything about PM being a problem being eaten. I have no idea if PM in flower will lower the THC content, but since it slowly kills the leaf, the leaf may have a difficult time developing the cannabinoids in its trichomes (purely a guess).

Have you had plants tested that didn't have PM?

Last night, Felonious brought home a last notice for a delivery at the post office that expired on August 9. So, he went down there today and not only did my replacement seeds come from The Seed Pharm but my seeds from @CannaPot came, too. So, I'm now very happy. Unfortunately, it's too late for this month as I already dropped new seeds this morning. I'll probably start a few Pineapple Express in September. That's the strain I'm missing most these days.

So, no smoking it then? That's not the end of the world but I am trying to only grow strains that have a dual purpose, i.e. good as oil and good as smoked. Girl Scout Cookies fits that bill. If the high is unique in some way, I might grow it again whether it's good to smoke or not.

Have you had plants tested that didn't have PM?

Yes, I had the Girl Scout Cookies from Summer 2021 tested and the Pineapple Express from Winter 2022 tested.

I had no issues with the GSC and it has 17.6% THC but the Pineapple Express was one of the plants that had bugs. It was the grow I had to finish outside because I couldn't get rid of them. It tested at only 6.6% THC.

It's weird I had no major issues other than normal learning mistakes the first 1.5 years. I don't know why I'm having so many issues now. Every tent has been washed at least 2 times each with isopropyl the first time and hydrogen peroxide the second time. But I do think I mostly have it under control in veg, at least.

I'm planning on starting a blog on any strains I have tested once I'm around a little more than I am right now.

*** GLORIA UPDATE ***

I haven't updated you on our Glowstarz from the outdoor grow since May 22 so I figured it was time. Gloria is the only outdoor plant that hasn't started to flower yet.

Gloria was uppotted to a 1-gallon pot on May 27 and then uppotted again to 7-gallon cloth pot and moved outside on June 14.

Here are her pics:

*** LILY UPDATE ***

I haven't updated you on our Lemon Auto from the outdoor grow since May 22 so I figured it was time. I suspect she's probably ready to be harvested but the last Lemon auto I grew didn't work for me so I don't have any interest in this one.

Lily was uppotted to a 1-gallon pot on May 27 and then uppotted again to 5-gallon cloth pot and moved outside on June 14.

*** SWEET TOOTH #3 UPDATE ***

Good afternoon.

The last time I reported on Stella was May 22. As you know, she's outside and under Felonious' care so I have no idea what he's feeding them, how much he's feeding them and when he's feeding them.

For an indica-dominant plant, she's the tallest one outside. Her leaves look more sativa than indica, too. The last time I measured her height in June, she was 11 inches tall. She's much taller now.

Here are her pics:
