HashGirl Implements A Perpetual Grow

If you are on 4gr/gallon for a plant that small, you are overfeeding. That green is awfully dark.

Seems that you have an imbalance between feed amounts and the amount of light you are giving them.

My plants are on the same amount (4gr/gal) but are in three and five gallon pots. 4gr/gallon is almost too much for mine and I may back off for a feeding or two.

A plant that size should be on 2.5-3 gr/gallon imo.

Anyway....That's my 2¢.

Hope you are doing well.

Just a FYI, I'm getting away with less ;)

A bit gun shy, first time SIP's eh ?

Cheers

I'm not growing in SIPs.

Hmmm. I've always fed them 1g/gal after the second set of leaves come in. I up it to 2g/gal when they're about a month old. When I uppot them to 1-gallon pots, that's when I increase it to 4g/gal.

Are you saying if these plants were in bigger pots, then 4g/gal is okay?

I'm not growing in SIPs.
I should expand on my comment...

When I was growing in fabric bags I was feeding more and not really seeing better results.

No major issues other than some yellowing leaves at the bottom before nutrient increases but....

Once again though I found out how much is too much, sigh...

Now in SIP's with less nutrients the girls seem to be happier !

Praying all day, everyday !

IF I don't have any issues with the rest of my grow I likely will not go back to fabric bags ;)

And will continue with less nutrients than I am used to until I see a "ask" for more...

Cheers

Hey there HashGirl. I may differ a bit about MC with some others, of course it’s all just an opinion.
It’s very plant dependent. For example the dose you are giving them would be way too much for FastBuds Purple Lemonade, which grows fine on almost nothing. At the same time, if I had my usual Wedding Cake or GSC type auto in the tent, I’d be at 4.5 already at that size.
My first few experiences with it, I kept pushing the dosage up way past 6 and in the end it didn’t help to go over 5.5 most times.
Accidentally one time I poured full strength 5.5 mixture on 2 week old babies and thought they’d die for sure. Well one ended up being my biggest harvest ever at a bit over 10oz.
Generally it’s something I just watch for signs and feed accordingly. A couple of your plants do have a slightly overfed/overwatered look in a few pics but otherwise they seem healthy and happy. I have a small window on the autos to go from low strength to 100% so they get pretty big increments and they’ve been good to me so far!

I think I saw you ask in the canuk thread if you can get multiple seeds as well? You can! I gave them a primary and secondary choice in case they were out of stock and they sent me both. Gonna be fun. Have a good weekend. 💨

Are you saying if these plants were in bigger pots, then 4g/gal is okay?
Sorry, I meant to say that my plants are in bigger pots because they are much bigger plants than yours.

MC increases are relative to the size and color of the plant, not necessarily the pot size. I have some MAC in one gallon pots that are on 4gr/gallon but they are bigger than your plant.
Mine are slightly overfed so I'm going to back down to 3.5 gr/gallon for a feeding or two.
They got a little too dark for my liking.
I still make the occasional mistake even though I've been using MC for the past 4 years so don't be discouraged.

It's better to remain flexible when using MC instead of having them on a rigid time table. Always go by health and color of the plant for an increase.

Heavy feeding plants may be able to adhere to a time table ok but a light feeding plant may not be able to take it.

Thanks, everyone.

I guess I need to learn how to tell when I should increase the dose. How do you decide to up their feed?

Thanks, everyone.

In fabric bags I go by how deep the green color of the leaves are And usually up the feed by .5g/gallon when I see yellowing leaves on the bottoms.

Even when lollipopping I leave a few fan leaves for this purpose.

I stop increasing or go down a bit if/when I see the leaf tips burning !

Turns out I'm fairly close to their recommended doses but it is strain dependent.

They say 2g/gallon for early veg and 4g/gallon for late veg.....

Cheers

*** CINDERELLA '99 FAST UPDATE ***

Good afternoon.

The last time I posted photos of Cindy was on August 1. Cindy was born on April 22 and was moved outside the first week of June. She started flowering on August 10. Don't forget that Felonious is growing the outdoor plants so I have no info on feedings.

Here are her pics since then.

*** VEG1 UPDATE ***

I started 4 new seeds on August 18 and by August 22, all of them had sprouted. Unfortunately, one of the new seedlings died (probably my fault) so I only have 3 girls going for this month. First up is Kali.

KALI’S MISTERY (AKA KALI MIST) - 1 seed
Primary Terpenes:Caryophyllene, Myrcene, Pinene
Genotype:Photoperiod
Phenotype:Sativa-Dominant (90/10)
Breeder:Serious Seeds via Bulk Seedbank
Genetics:Cambodian, other sativas, Afghani
Projected Flowering Time:66 to 76 days
Projected Yield:550 g/m2
THC %:18
CBD %:<1

The Kali Mist strain is arguably the top Sativa strain available on the market today; she is often called the Queen of Sativas.

She grows into a classic Sativa plant with very few leaves, producing much higher yields than you would expect. This strain produces dense clusters of full spirally buds, with a very high resin content and a delightfully spicy scent. The open plant structure with few leaves allows light to pass all the way to lower branches, allowing the bottom buds to develop fully.

Kali Mist has been improved twice since its first release: in 1998 and in 2000. The most recent and also best version won 12 of the 14 cups behind the name 'Kali Mist’. When she is planted outside early in the year, this plant can grow very tall. Grown outdoors in Spain and Italy, she proved to be very mould resistant, even during rains.

Kali Mist strain won a 1st prize Cannabis Cup 1995, 1st prize Cannabis Cup 2000, 3rd prize High Life Spain 2004, 1st prize Seedcup 2008 in Bologna, Italy, and in 2009 the third prize at the Kent Guerilla Cannabis Cup in England. Last awards won by Kali Mist: 1st prize in the category: 'Best Hash' at the Cannabis Champions Cup 2012 in Barcelona, Spain and 3rd prize in the category: 'Sativa' at the Growbarato Cup 2018 in Barcelona, Spain. This variety gives a very strong, clear, energizing, and uplifting high.

Strain's Flavour & Aroma
The Kali Mist strain has a rich terpene composition and a well-recognized taste that so many users like. The two prevalent terpenes in this weed are myrcene and caryophyllene, which create the sweet flavour of fresh berries mixed with sour citrus lemon undertones that can be noticed when the buds are burned. In addition, the aroma is very earthy, featuring notes of spicy herbs, pine notes, and a lavender-like aftertaste that is accomplished with a strawberry-like inhale.

Kali’s Mistery Strain Effects
Kali Mist has this special rare ability of cutting through a dissipating high from a previous smoke. It cuts through your fatigue and fog, scaring away those gloomy ghosts of passive stonedness. A perfect party weed that makes you move your ass, dance like a dervish and communicate vividly with other guests. It`s the exact opposite to a couch-lock Indica that makes you introverted, passive and sleepy. The Kali Mist weed strain is mostly prescribed to be taken in the morning. This is because it boasts mind-clearing and energetic effects that gains the utmost attention of art lovers because it boosts creativity and helps them perform better, reducing racing thoughts and any distractions. Some stoners also love to smoke this marijuana before yoga and meditation to boost their experience. This cannabis bud also increased its effects with each inhale, so it is prescribed only for veteran smokers ready for such potent properties. In combination with its high THC level and these uplifting effects, Kali Mist is popular among medical patients struggling from anxiety, stress, depression, and chronic fatigue.

Kali Mist strain is used as medicine against chronic pains like back aches and as a mood enhancer. Women all around the world particularly like this plant as a relief against monthly cramps.

Alongside positive effects, this strain may cause minor side effects that are common in sensitive users. These include thirst and dry mouth, dry eyes, and paranoia.

Growing Kali’s Mistery
Kali Mist fem seeds produce top-shelf, superior smokables, so it's no surprise they require utmost care when growing. These cannabis seeds are ideal for moderate to experienced growers since they sprout into high-maintenance girls. Many seek out this cultivar because the hard work pays off when you get a harvest bigger than you'd get with most other marijuana seeds.

Reaching up to 10 feet high, these monster plants can create a Jack and the Beanstalk scenario if you don't train them. Kali Mist feminized cannabis seeds are best for growing indoors because it's difficult to be inconspicuous if you've got these giant plants in your garden. Ensure you have sufficient space inside and a high fence or tent if you plan on growing outside.

Their height can also affect bud quality if the bottom branches don't get enough light. Use low-stress training to break the apical dominance and ensure all parts of these huge plants enjoy plenty of light exposure. They can get slightly bushy, so trim off excess foliage, especially when flowering so buds can get fat and juicy.

It may seem like growing Kali Mist feminized seeds is a lot of work, but don't feel disheartened. These plants are mould and disease resistant and are tolerant of temperature changes. The only thing you have to worry about is controlling their height and ensuring they get enough light, water, and nutrients. What makes this a challenging grow is the long flowering period during which mistakes aren't easily forgiven.

Only attempt to grow fem Kali Mist seeds outdoors if you have long, hot summers because they have a longer than usual flowering time. The blooming phase for these beauties lasts between 10–12 weeks. Prepare to do a lot of pruning and trimming, but your toil will be worth it when you harvest up to 22 oz. per plant outside.

When growing indoors, the main predicament is space, so ensure you have enough room. Using low-stress training techniques when growing Kali Mist seeds feminized helps these tall plants get adequate access to lighting.

If you use the Sea of Green (SOG) technique, you can make better use of space and ensure you get all juicy buds with no waste. Indoors, you get 14–19 oz./m2 if you provide them with enough lighting, regular pruning, and use LST techniques. According to cultivators and smokers, this marijuana produces a very high yield rate with buds in a dense cluster. The strain flowers within 56 to 70 days, while the yield that amounts to 15-20 ounces per plant can be picked in 78 days. The plant can be successfully grown indoors and out, reaching 60-80 inches.

The NBA Diesel has its roots in the Big Apple. This cannabis variety tastes and smells like ripe red Grapefruits, once you touch the fresh buds you can’t smell the other strains in your room or garden. The NBA Diesel will leave you with an exotic taste, an exotic smell, and an exotic effect.

NBA Diesel marijuana seeds were created in 1999 and are a 60% sativa-dominant cross between a Sour Diesel clone and an Afghani/Hawaiian male. This sativa-leaning strain smells like ripe red grapefruit. The pungent lime and grapefruit aroma is the mark of a high-quality batch, so it is no wonder that it won five Cannabis Cup trophies in the early 2000s. The selected feminized seeds of our NYC Diesel were specially selected to increase weight and potency while keeping the distinctive Diesel taste. This plant will grow to medium height with strong side branches of resin filled colas that need room to grow.

It is believed that this strain is popular among artists due to its strong cerebral effects. NYC Diesel can cause a sudden influx of ideas and bring in a fresh breath of inspiration. This hybrid spurs on the mental activity, fueling writers and creatives to keep working and making magic.

This strain is really good for taking a load off after some stressful instances, as this smoke can make even the most negative Nancy burst out in laughter.

This strain may also cause a slight bout of paranoia in some users, which can also be accompanied by a mild headache. NYC Diesel may also make you feel a little dizzy and anxious, especially if you are an inexperienced smoker, or have consumed this potent strain in higher doses.

Medical
NYC Diesel is a very popular medical strain in the medical cannabis community. This hybrid is very effective in the treatment against stress disorders and its symptoms. It is a powerful ally in the fight against any effects of chronic and consistent stress because it is a powerful relaxant, and aims to calm and soothe the mind and body.

This strain is also useful for patients who continue to struggle with mood disorders. NYC Diesel is effective especially for patients who are suffering from heavy depression, due to this strain’s uplifting effects. A lack of appetite may also be reversed, because of this hybrid’s ability to induce a case of the munchies.

NYC Diesel is also perfect for the management of pain, as it has proven to be a successful way to control muscle spasms and joint paint, as well as chronic back pains and headaches. Fatigue may also be treated with this hyper hybrid, as it can give you sudden bursts of energy and encouragement.

Aroma & Flavour
NYC Diesel truly smells like a Sour Diesel variant, reeking of a strong diesel mixed with fruit fragrance, instantly filling the room with its aroma. This hybrid smells pungent and sweet, with shocks of lime that smell both invigorating and appetizing.

This sour tasting strain tastes mouth-watering in all its citrus flavours and tanginess. NYC Diesel boasts of pungent flavours, mixed with shocks of sweet lime. This hybrid has a distinct aftertaste that many describe as resembling fresh grapefruit, making it truly pleasant and unique.

Growing
This plant can grow very tall, up to 12 feet tall, if you give it the room to grow upward and neglect to trim it accordingly. Ideally, NYC Diesel prefers a hot and sunny outdoor environment where it can truly thrive. You should be quite experienced if you want to attempt to cultivate this strain, as it requires some upkeep knowledge to really maximize its yields.

Indoors
NYC Diesel takes around 10 to 12 weeks to flower and be ready for a hearty harvest. This strain can be expected to yield an average of 14 ounces per square meter of fragrant and lush bud.

Outdoors
This hybrid likes a little warmth if you want to keep it outdoors. NYC Diesel can yield around 12 ounces of bud per plant and can be expected to be ready for a full harvest around the beginning of November.

I named these ladies Natasha and Nia based on the WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) list of current players. There were 2 girls named Natasha and 2 girls named Nia so that's what I decided to name them.

All the VEG1 girls sprouted on August 22 but Natasha and Nia were first up.

I usually have my VEG1 plants on the baker's rack in the laundry room but because there are no curtains or blinds on the windows, they are currently on a bookshelf in our TV room. This way no light is coming from inside to interrupt the flowering cycle on the outdoor plants.

I bought the light at Amazon and the description for it says:

Thanks for following along. Comments, questions and suggestions are always welcome.

How much are you feeding @HashGirl ?

The reason I ask is my first leaves, the Cotyledons, usually stay green until day 30 or so when I clean up the bottoms, i.e., the cotyledons, first set of leaves and the first node (depending on the plants vigor).

I start feeding right away with 1g/gallon of MC and by day 30 am at 2.7g/gallon.

Cheers

Hi Chuck.

I've been feeding them 1g/gallon when their second set of leaves come in. When they're 2 weeks old, I up it to 2g/gallon and when they're 1 month old, I up it to 4g/gallon. They stay here until I want to start flower when I increase it to 5g/gallon and if they're in flower longer than 2 months, I up it to 5.5g/gallon.

*** LEMON (LILY) UPDATE ***

This will be a short update as Lily is dead. She hasn't been harvested yet but she's certainly dead.

Lily was born on May 1, 2023 and moved outside the first week of June for Felonious to care for. I had no real interest in all the outdoor plants, except for the Cinderella '99. I grew the Lemon Auto previously and couldn't get high from it. I gave my previous harvest to a friend but she no longer uses cannabis so I have no one to share these plants with.

Here are the 2 pics I have of her:

I won't be reporting on Lily anymore since she's dead or darn close.
