Petra - Trim Day:

HG,

Congrats on the fantastic harvests. I absolutely adore the amount of strains you grow in the course of a year, you remind me of myself with the multi-strain grows and that makes me so happy. I love seeing an assortment of plants and how a grower manages all their individual idiosyncrasies.

You said you had a Durban going but you didn't tell me you had a parent to my Amnesia going as well, in Cinderella 99! I haven't run a straight "Cindy" yet but I am looking forward to seeing how she develops for sure!

I want to thank you for the breakdowns in each grow part and for each plant and for the wealth of information in between. I truly enjoy the way you have your context broken up and the love you show for what you do.

Looks like a fantastic start with the new seeds and the others are cruising along as well. I'm glad I was able to finally catch up here. Good luck with the remainder, I'll be here to like and comment moving forward!

Congrats on getting all those harvested and in jars! Is that the last of the autos you needed to grow to get replacement seeds?

Thanks, Shed. No, I still had 6 to go but I harvested 5/6 yesterday. Between May 17 and yesterday, I've harvested 17 plants, 9 of them autoflowers. I still have Cher (a Cannalope Haze) who is only 30 days into flower and Lily (A Lemon auto Felonious was growing outside for a friend who now no longer wants it - if anyone in my neighbourhood wants it, shoot me a PM.) The Lemon was a seed I had previously and isn't part of the seed snafu. Last time, I grew it, it was my best auto yield at 144 grams but Felonious is in charge of it so we'll see how it goes. The only strain Felonious is growing outside that I'm interested in is the Cinderella '99 but it was a fast-flowering seed so I let him have it. I have non-fast flowering so if I like it, I can grow it again sometime.

I still have to craft an email to the vendor about all the seeds being autos rather than photos like I ordered. I really would prefer a refund but doubt I will get that. How can I trust that this snafu won't happen again?

On your new journal, you said you like a variety as it keeps you from becoming desensitized to it. That's the main reason I like a variety, too. The other main reason is that I have 191 seeds of which are 45 seeds I don't want to grow at all. I have pot I don't like either. I really wished more people from here lived near me to share with.

You said you had a Durban going but you didn't tell me you had a parent to my Amnesia going as well, in Cinderella 99! I haven't run a straight "Cindy" yet but I am looking forward to seeing how she develops for sure!

I'll be posting pics of Cindy and age but my husband, @FeloniousPunk is growing the outdoor ones. I swore after a bud rot extravaganza last fall that I wasn't going to grow outside again because it's too hard to control the environment. But, here in Ontario (🇨🇦), we're allowed to grow plants outside and F. likes to do it so he does. :battingeyelashes:

I grew an Amnesia auto that had reportedly had terpenes good for me but it just didn't get me high. I saved some to be tested at some point after I test all the other strains I know work for me. That's the data I'm tracking. But at $60 per test (cannabinoid + terpene = $120) and I probably have around 40 strains I want to test. I hope to get all my data into a thread or blog here at some point, probably in the winter when I'm home more.

I want to thank you for the breakdowns in each grow part and for each plant and for the wealth of information in between. I truly enjoy the way you have your context broken up and the love you show for what you do.

 & :bigblush:

:thanks: Krissi. Any time you visit is a treat. Don't stress if you're having eye issues. It looks like there's a good chance of rain on Thursday so I might get some time to post another update then but when the sun is shining and I'm home, I'm outside. I'm in the middle of a 900-page novel.

Oh God I'm so scared of outdoors. My Bubblegum Auto will make its way there by Wednesday at 14/15 days above and I'm just going to grit my teeth for the next 2.5 months!

I'm really surprised, my Amnesia is super strong. I know they aren't a sponsor but seeds are reasonable and I always have great success with i49seeds.

I'm sorry it took me so long to get over here but like I said, I'm here now! It's been raining last couple of days here also, my outdoor garden needed it, been watering like crazy lately. My eye is much better I would say 90%, finally off meds. I'm more than happy to follow along, when I first signed up, I secretly stalked you and your grows knowing you had a lot of experience and it showed.

Congrats on another harvest a few weeks ago. How are you finding the pace of your perpetual?

Thanks, Carmen. I feel like I'm just starting my perpetual grow now that most of the autos are done. I do like that most of the autoflowers are done now and I'm getting back to photoperiod growing.

*** UPDATE ON BONNIE (BLACK JACK) ***

Good afternoon.

Today, I'm going to update you on Bonnie, our Black Jack lady who was born on May 30. She was topped and uppotted to a 1-gallon pot on July 10. She was uppotted to a 5-gallon pot on July 29.

*** UPDATE ON CASSIE (CAFE RACER) ***

I looked back to see when I last updated you on Cassie and it was May 4! This shows how overwhelmed I've been with the autos and my busier schedule. I'm going to try to do better.

As a reminder, Cassie was born on March 23 and has a flowering period of 70 to 75 days. She's currently on Day 32 of Flower.

Cassie was uppotted from her 1-gallon pot to a 5-gallon pot on May 26. On June 26, she was moved to the flower tent after being treated for PM. The flower tent was also cleaned thoroughly with hydrogen peroxide this time.

Despite the clean tent, I had to treat her for PM again on July 21. Here are her pics and info:

*** Cherry Diesel (Cherise) Introduction ***

I hadn't intended on planting this strain. The original seed I planted was for a Critical plant but it never germinated and I didn't have anymore so I substituted the Critical with the Cherry Diesel. The Cherry Diesel wasn't planned for this month but it was one of the freebies I received from @CannaPot in the order I just got from them. It germinated quickly unlike the Skunk Specials I've been trying to germinate. I'm on my second seed and it's been 5 days so far. These seeds were freebies, too but this time as part of my GJOTM winnings last year from @Herbies Seeds .

CHERRY DIESEL (1 seed)
AKA CHERRY TURBO DIESEL, ROYAL CHERRY DIESEL

Primary Terpenes:Caryophyllene, Limonene, Ocimene, Myrcene
Genotype:Photoperiod
Phenotype:Hybrid - Balanced (50/50)
Breeder:ApeOrigin Seeds
Genetics:Cherry OG x Turbo Diesel
Projected Flowering Time:49 to 74 days
Projected Yield:400g/m2
THC %:10-15
CBD %:<1

About Cherry Diesel
Like its brethren before it, Cherry Diesel earned its wings through its more obvious components: its vibrant colour and tart cherry flavour. Cherry Diesel draws the best of both parents into one bud. ApeOrigin Seeds developed this strain by combining Turbo Diesel and Cherry, two long-time fan favourites, to create this well balanced 50/50 legacy to the Diesel family throne.

Though its effects are mighty, Cherry Diesel remains a nice introduction strain for novice users looking to try something with a little more oomph. This bright green bud is covered in bright orange hairs, long sticky trichomes, and boasts a big flavour of cherry and diesel. With THC levels ranging from 15% to 18% and aromas to match its name and taste, Cherry Diesel gives users a consistently strong kick that mirrors the biting flavours.

Flavour and Taste of Royal Cherry Diesel
As the name suggests, the Cherry Diesel strain boasts a sweet earthy and berry flavour that explodes in the mouth with berry aromas. This fruit-laced profile, which becomes pronounced due to the myrcene and limonene terpenes, also features pungent and diesel undertones. These delicious tastes are a generous contribution of a mix of terpenes, including pinene, bisabolol, ocimene, phellandrene.

Cherry Diesel Strain Effects
In terms of effects, this weed makes users more energetic than calm. The high starts with tingly energy that makes people focused and motivated. Due to an uplifted mood, they are ready to work on creative challenges or take on routine tasks. This marijuana strain tends to eliminate social anxiety. It is also known for relaxing effects and relieving symptoms associated with various health disorders, such as fibromyalgia, hypertension, migraines, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, anxiety, or PMS.

Some consumers report that after an hour hunger creeps up. So, get some snacks close by.

Grower's Info
You can also grow this cannabis strain effortlessly, it is very fast and therefore also recommended outdoors, as long as you grow it in a somewhat rain-protected spot. Cherry Diesel likes to be grown in sea-of-green and she likes a lot of fertilizer, but she also thrives without fertilizer, so she is a great strain for beginners.

It develops dense and sticky grape-shaped buds after a 60 to 70-day flowering cycle and is ready to harvest in 74 days. The plants flourish both indoors (60’’-80’’ high) and outdoors (more than 90” high). As a medium-yield plant, it produces 0.5-1 oz./ft2 for indoor and 1-2 oz./ft2 for outdoor gardens.

*** DURBAN POISON (DUMI) UPDATE ***

As a reminder, Dumi was born on April 2 and is currently 35 days into flower. Dumi was uppotted to a 5-gallon pot on June 1. She was proactively treated for PM prior to moving to a newly cleaned Flower Tent on July 11. She was treated for PM again on July 21.

Today's first update is for @Krissi Carbone as she's growing a Durban Poison, too. Of the 4 currently flowering plants, I think Dumi is the prettiest. She is also showing orange pistils already.

Here is her info and pics. Get ready, there's lots:

*** Girl Scout Cookies (Gemma and Gina) Introductions ***

GIRL SCOUT COOKIES (2 seeds) aka GSC

Primary Terpenes:Limonene, Caryophyllene, Linalool*
Genotype:Photoperiod
Phenotype:Indica-Dominant (40/60)
Breeder:Vision Seeds
Genetics:Durban Poison x OG Kush
Projected Flowering Time:63 to 70 days
Projected Yield:280g/m2
THC %:18*
CBD %:ND* (not detected)
NOTE:Items marked with a * were determined by testing.

History and Genetics
The little girls out front of the supermarket might be adorable and everything, but if you want to step up your game and dive into a flavorful, euphoric experience then these are the Girl Scout cookies you really want. GSC (formerly known as Girl Scout Cookies) is a Cannabis Cup award-winning strain comprised of OG Kush and Durban Poison and is perfect for an after-dinner treat or a nightcap.

Cookies is also sometimes known as Berner Cookies or Berner’s Cookies, after cannabis mogul and rapper Berner (whose real name is Gilbert Millam, Jr). A San Francisco native, Berner lays claim to originating the strain with a growing collective that’s become known as Cookie Fam. A master of branding, Berner shot Cookies into the mainstream when he got his product into the hands of no less than Wiz Khalifa. It has since become a staple strain across the U.S. By crossing two super popular strains, the underground breeding collective Cookie Family (or Cookie Fam) has been able to elevate THC levels to a whopping average of 25% to 28% and boast CBD and CBN contents to 1%.

If that wasn’t enough to entice you, then the flavor and aroma will definitely draw you in. At first opening of the bag the sweet, earthy aromas hit your nose and only grow sweeter as you break apart the buds. The smoke of this strain is dessert-like and will certainly endear you to these light green and purple-hued buds. The fiery orange hairs and bright purple leaves make it just as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate.

Effects
The GSC high catapults you into a wave of euphoria and tingles that encapsulate your body with very little effort. These ultra-powered buds will have you questioning space and time, while utterly gluing you to your seat. The couch lock on this is real, as are the munchies, so be sure to have a box of actual Girl Scout cookies handy for good measure. Throughout the hours-long high, you’ll experience waves of giddiness that might have you in minor giggle fits, though that will ebb and flow into introspection from time to time. This is an engaging high that will certainly have you feeling creative, but try as you might, you probably won’t have any motivation to get anything done.

GSC has some incredibly powerful effects that are beneficial to the medical community in numerous ways. Primarily, this is a great strain for treating chronic pain, inflammation, muscle tension, and cramps. Its highly sedative properties will have you feeling relief in no time. Additionally, many use this strain as a stress reliever. The tranquilizer-like feeling of this bud puts you in a place of complete relaxation, slaying stress and even getting you ready for a good night’s sleep.

Growing
Growing techniques for this plant vary depending on who you ask, however, Cookie Fam suggests SOG indoors with either a soil or hydro set up. The flowering time on this plant is around 10 weeks or until the buds are plump and plentiful. The yield of this plant is about average, though in really stellar conditions you might be able to squeeze out a bit extra.

There are several phenotypes of this strain that include other clever plays on the plant’s former name, such as Thin Mint and Platinum Cookies, however, GSC stands out from the pack with its bright purple leafiness and twisting greenery. Additionally, the THC content of this variation truly makes it a one-of-a-kind experience.

Here’s a quick primer for indoor growing:
  • Either germinate seeds or take cuttings to create clones.
  • Use the 18-6 light cycle (18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness) until your GSC plants are at least 10 inches tall.
  • Change the positioning of your plants and try to fit two per square foot of space.
  • Use the 12/12 light cycle.
  • Your GSC plants should begin to enter the flowering cycle. Wait for an especially dense formation of buds. Trim the branches underneath, and use them as your clones.
  • Wait until at least 70% of the pistils turn an orange/brown color, then harvest.
  • Girl Scout Cookies has a flowering time of 9-10 weeks.

Meet Gemma - Day 3:

Gemma - Day 4:

Meet Gina - Day 3:

Gina - Day 4:

You may have noticed that my GSC plants are highest in the terpene, Limonene, which I always thought didn't work for me since the Lemon Auto I grew didn't work for me.

But my GSC tested high in Limonene so all the terpene info I thought applied to me has gone out the window. Once I get all the strains that work for me tested, I should be able to figure it out better.

However, all the strains I've had tested (Girl Scout Cookies, Jack Herer and Pineapple Express) so far show high quantities of caryophyllene and I always figured that was the terpene that worked best for me so I was happy to see the numbers line up with what I thought.
