Haight Solid State vs. H.G.LED

Re: 420 Consumer Reports Competition - Haight Solid State vs. Hydro Grow LED

I dunno. Last week I was liking the HGL, this week I'm liking the HSS. But I really like the buds and frosting altogether. I'm still waiting on the results. I'm between grows and looking to purchase a new grow lamp for my next crop. Waiting...waiting... Is it me or are the HGL leaves starting to curl? The HSS leaves still look nice and fat, the HGL - not so much.

Re: 420 Consumer Reports Competition - Haight Solid State vs. Hydro Grow LED

From the latest pics, it looks like the HGL is putting more energy into budding and the HSS is putting more energy into leafing. Should be interesting to see how things unfold in the next month if that's the case. They may end up tied in the production category, though.

Re: 420 Consumer Reports Competition - Haight Solid State vs. Hydro Grow LED

Everything is looking good and it is clear there is a much more pronounced difference and it comes the the strength of the reflected light, angle of the light leaving the fixture and/or one light meeting the plants needs better right now.

The next month and 1/2 should be very interesting.

Lilbit is just a week ahead of your girls and my other two are a week behind.

Will be interesting to watch for future closet grow.

:peace: brother and great job!

Re: 420 Consumer Reports Competition - Haight Solid State vs. Hydro Grow LED

Well my man, it's not a waste of time to present where the technology is today. And this is a site sanctioned comparative grow, so your whole post was really just a waste of time and effort.

True. All parameters and discussion points were covered early in this journal (if one took the time to review the thread before expressing ignorant and specious observations). Some of us are interested in this grow because the LED lamps promise horticultural results while reducing energy demand and heat that are problematic with HPS and MH light systems.

Re: 420 Consumer Reports Competition - Haight Solid State vs. Hydro Grow LED

Ya... Having a HID heat sink in you home is not a good idea if one could avoid it.

Re: 420 Consumer Reports Competition - Haight Solid State vs. Hydro Grow LED

420 hps,
I suggest that you read from page one , to the finish. And then you would have known that this is not a led-hps comparison. We all now know that a 400 hps will out grow leds, but a lot of the members need to eliminate the heat and electric bill !!

Re: 420 Consumer Reports Competition - Haight Solid State vs. Hydro Grow LED

Sweet, another great update... Looks like the HSS plants might have a little more frost, and more pistils, in the bud shots.

maybe you shouldn't of vegged them that extra week. How much headroom do you have left? How does the headroom compare between the two lights now?

Looking good:yummy:
:welldone:, as usual.

Re: 420 Consumer Reports Competition - Haight Solid State vs. Hydro Grow LED

I hate to say it, but i think the hgl is winning at this point. At least on the two plants you used for comparison. Does all 4 of the hgl plants look the same as this one ?? I would have bet anything that the hss would smoke the hgl, but as of now, the hgl is winning. I just can't believe the 126 is covering 4 plants !! You're a real pioneer SS, keep on doing what you're doing !! Fine job !! I'd personally like you to do another grow and grow them like you would if you was growing for production. Using lsting and topping !! To keep the panel closer to all the buds. Stay cool Bro !!

Re: 420 Consumer Reports Competition - Haight Solid State vs. Hydro Grow LED

great update SS, both sets of plants look great.
Really impressed with the way you are handling this comp grow.
reps if I can.

Re: 420 Consumer Reports Competition - Haight Solid State vs. Hydro Grow LED

If you aren't the biggest crock of ....Yeah SS that HSS looks way better and makes the background look shinier too!....LOL,,,,we won't mention the less bud spots...thinner branches and less bushiness.....I'm afraid you're the one who's going to be posting all kinds of excuses at the end of this!

It might be the lighting, but in the first couple of bud shots the HSS buds look a little better as I described, plus the HSS plants are much larger overall. Yes, the HGL plants are bushy. There is still a long way to go, chill brother...

Hey SS, contrary to what some people are attempting to say I think your doing an incredible job staying neutral and letting the plants do the talking. Some people say HSS,others say HGL,only you can see the true differences and IMO 420 has chosen the right man for the job. Keep up the great work :thankyou: :peace:

Right on, I think scumb was talking about me, not SS. I agree, SS has been very neutral. I use HSS lights, so I am on their side.

Re: 420 Consumer Reports Competition - Haight Solid State vs. Hydro Grow LED

Let's try to keep things civil.

There's still a long ways to go.

I appreciate all the comments and support and will respond and post my thoughts later tonight.

If I post a comment that seems to favor one group over the other, it's just valid for that *one* point in time. Things can change with how much time we have left.

sfhaze has been very upfront about his bias for the HSS light, so he's not trying to hide anything.

Re: 420 Consumer Reports Competition - Haight Solid State vs. Hydro Grow LED

SS, you have the wisdom of Solomon, and the patience of some other historical figure I can't think of right now since I'm kinda, well, you know, :passitleft:

Re: 420 Consumer Reports Competition - Haight Solid State vs. Hydro Grow LED

To clarify, I meant no disrespect to Scumbragger and was aware he was referring to sf. I wasn't aware of sfs bias to HSS though. I am always happy to read peoples different views and insights, even if you don't agree with them it gives you another point of view to consider. :peace: all
