Growing Outdoors

I have found that by giving them more dark then light for the first 3 weeks will give you more females. I started 18 bag seeds this year..14 hours of dark for the first 3 weeks..I had 3 males and the rest was ladies

Thanks a lot for the advice. I figure this is my trial and error grow. For the first 8 or 9 days they did not get that much light. I kept them in the starter pods under a chair out of the direct sun. It will be interesting to see how the 4 sets of twins turn out I have.

June 16th. It has been 3 weeks since I put seeds in the peat moss starter pods. I transferred 2 plants from solo cups to pots with a 50/50 mix of our home-made compost soil and the MG soil. The 2 plants were both planted in the solo cup with just the MG. No additional fertilizer or nutrients were added. Watered with tap water.

June 17th. Transferred 3 more plants today, with one being from one of the 4 sets twins. Used the 50/50 mix I made, plus added some Sta-Green Blood Meal. Also added some Superthrive mixed with spring water to all the plants. I have noticed a couple of the plants are developing good root balls already. Once the sex has been decided, I will divide into groups and try different combinations of treatment with the females. The males will be removed. Temperature was low 70’s today. Overcast with rain in early evening. They last set of pictures is one of the twins.

June 18th. I noticed a growth spurt on most of the plants from adding the SUPERthrive yesterday. There are 3 plants that are struggling and will be culled if they do not show significant growth soon. Got my Fox Farm in today. Transferred 5 plants today from solos cups to plants. 2 with just the Fox Farm. 1 of the twins with just the MG Performance Mix. 2 other plants in Fox Farm with Blood Meal added. The last set of pictures is another twin

Temperature was high 60’s this morning with rain. Around 1pm, sun came out and temperature climbed to 80.

It has been a few weeks since I have been on and lots is happening. The 21 plants are doing good.

At the end of May I had 5 that showed they are female. Included in there is one set of the twins. I replanted 3 of the ladies into their final pot, a 3 gallon fabric pot. I added some bone meal, blood meal and worm castings in the soil mix.

Since I had 21 plants on the deck in a neighborhood, with everyone working from home, I figured it may not be the best thing. I decided to try indoor growing on most of the plants. So I decided to make a grow room and purchased used equipment off Craigslist. Here is my $250 total expense grow room. Now 17 plants have new a home until they show their sex.

So far I have 13 females out of 21 plants from my bag seeds. There are 8 more left to show. I moved all but 4 inside to my new grow area. 21 plants on my deck, in a neighborhood, started to worry me some.

Sorry I have not updated in a while, life can do that sometimes. As of 7/25 I have 18 females out of my 21 plants. The other 3 have not shown sex yet. I have moved 17 inside and will be starting a indoor journal for them. 3 of the females and one of the undecided is still outside. Here are the 4 plants still outside. The 3 females started flowering at 3 weeks old. The plants are 8 weeks old. The females are all in fabric pots outside.

We had some heavy rain a few days and the plants enjoyed it apparently. The buds are starting to increase in size and density. These plants are almost in week 6 of flower.

The outside part of my grow came to an end this morning. Cut down the 3 little ladies that were outside. They were in flower over 7 weeks.

Here are the little ladies before the chop

The little ladies from outside yielded me 25 grams of some smooth smoke. Most if it is now curing. 70 degrees and a RH of 62%.

The smoke is very smooth and gives a very nice head high. Not bad for bag seeds and a first time grow. Looking forward to when the other will be ready.
