Grow #2: Outdoor/CFL Auto 420 Blueberry & AK-47 Smart Pots With Dr Earth Soil

Basically you want it be damp. Maybe like 2 knuckles deep is all. Did you toss some of that great white in there??

Mad Dabber brings up a good point with the sleep though. Never thought about that.

24/0-18/6 I think you'll be alright either way. Those babies are just gonna wanna live, so they're gonna do their thing!

And now back to the original plants...the babies and the prematurely flowering AK 4. If you haven't seen the clone posts go back a page and read them, and chime in on that as well!

It's Tuesday, and here are the pics:

Blue 4 day 18, picking up the pace!

AK 7 day 16 and I finally can see a tiny bit of new growth in the middle. The white spots are DE, and I'm thinking the tips on the first true leaves is neem burn:

And here is AK 4, pushing out the pistils like it's day 55 or something (oh wait, it is!):

Compared to AK 1 on day 53 I'd say they're pretty close. AK 4 is frostier on the leaves and AK 1 ended up 14" taller or so...but they're pretty similar otherwise ;)

The whole pot is only two knuckles deep! They were pretty wet last night when I was trying to get it all done, so didn't get any Great White in there. What I'm going to do is squeeze out the water, add some more soil to the top, and let them dry out a bit. Next water will be ¼ tsp/gallon with Great White only.

I can do probably swing ~20/4 but I'll have to do it in the house as now I don't have room in the shed for this tub-o-clones! Throw a beach towel over it when I get home from work and uncover it when I go to sleep.

You're gonna want to wait until they get established with roots before transplanting. In just water that was a couple weeks, in a cloner that can be a week, in just soil, I have no idea how long that will take.
I wouldn't squeeze any water out. Just let it dry naturally.
I'm interested in this cloning method

Damn I'm late, but I'd go with high gloss white!

Late, yes. Way late!
Grow #2 - Outdoor/CFL Auto 420 Blueberry & AK-47 Smart Pots With Dr Earth Soil
Monday morning and it looks like no painting of the fluorescent reflector will be happening any time soon. Too many other things I have to do around the house than wonder if the paint I'm using will stick to the metal and survive the heat.

Just afraid of root rot :-0

Damn kids wanting to grow up and shit!
Got have roots for them to rot lol
I smell what you're stepping in, though. Just make sure the area by where the roots will proliferate stays moist.

No doubt, be so much easier if she would just sleep until I turned the lights on! Hahaha

Getting back to the clones and the lights for a second, I found this regarding revegging flowering clones:
A Guide To Cloning & Revegging Flowering Plants
The clone below was taken from the lowest stem on the plant after the rest of the plant had been harvested.
She was dipped in rooting hormone gel, placed in moist compost then put in a regular propagator under 24/0 CFL lighting.

...and a few others on 420mag that recommended 24/0 lighting for revegging clones. Maybe the whole "roots grow in the dark" is true for plants with roots already!

Anyway, I think I'll go with 24/0 for now because it's easiest, and as long as they look ok I can wait for roots. No hurry as these will be in veg until next fall!

Does revegging flowering clones make them more likely to hermie? I read a couple of cases where that happened and they recommended waiting until the clone is big enough and take a clone of that, tossing the original.

I'm thinking of making a new journal for the clones if you all promise to follow me over there as well!

I don't think these ladies are far enough into flower to worry about it stressing them too much

Clones root fastest if kept in humid environment. Approx 70% relative humidity. You can use a dome or for example a transparent plastic bag.

They root fastest if you keep temps above 24 degrees Celsius and below 27 degrees Celsius.

If temps get higher than that they usually dies after a few days.

Mist them every other day.

Cloning directly in soil works well. You don't have to do anything more

You can also add a little clonex to the water you mist them with. And also water the soil gently with it.

That's if you don't want to rip them up again

Thanks Devil! I've got them in a plastic box now (see pics here) and I'll throw a hygrometer in there to get an idea of the RH. But that's a pretty narrow temperature range (75-80º F)! I hope I can hit it.

Re: Grow #2 - Outdoor/CFL Auto 420 Blueberry & AK-47 Smart Pots With Dr Earth Soil

They root if it's colder than 24, but slower. Not sure how low you can go really. Think I should test that.

The most important thing is to keep it under 27. You get stem rot in higher temps. I start freaking out if it's hotter than 26

Looking good.

There is another trick. Clones root faster if they get to focus on rooting rather than trying to do photosynthesis. Therefore less is more when it comes to light. I put them outside the direct light. But not in the dark. Next to the light kinda

Since these were from plants already flipped (and the AKs have pistils) I need to reveg them. I've been reading that 24/0 is the best way to do that with clones. I can def move the light further away though!

24/0 is generally always recommend for clones.

How far into flowering were they? If clones are taken the first 2-3 weeks into flowering, they don't struggle as much as a clone taken further into bloom.
