Grow #2: Outdoor/CFL Auto 420 Blueberry & AK-47 Smart Pots With Dr Earth Soil

Ok, straight into soil is new on me. I don't like it either lol
The key is to keep the soil moist enough to break down the stem and promote roots, also she will only get water through her leaves. So moisture is key, think humidity dome.

I literally just throw them in a glass of water so I can't say too much lol

Ok, back from the 14th trip to the shed!

- Soaked the stems in water
- Re-cut the leaves a bit shorter
- Took off a lower shoot too close to the bottom of one stem
- Put a hole in the soil so it didn't scrape off the honey when I put the stem back in
- Rolled the stems in honey and replanted them - compressing the wet soil around the stem
- Mixed 1 ml cal/mag+ in 32oz spray bottle and sprayed leaves
- Covered them in plastic ziplock bags and put them off to the side of the autos

So they should get enough light not to continue in flower but not so much that they attempt photosynthesis? I don't know how much that is. I have to leave them where they are now at night, but in the morning I can put them near a 23 watt CFL (6500K or 2700K?).

How much/little light is ideal?

Here is where they are for the night:

Thank you 420d, Derby, and Them for jumping right into the fray and helping out a man in need. I appreciate it! I'll let you know how I did in the morning! Let me know on the light question so I know what to do before I go to work. :thanks:

And belatedly to BWaff, tho I'm not undoing what I just did to stick them in some water! Got any light intensity answers?

I use to have my clones just a few inches less then my veg pots.
The one I have now was done under a tiny bedside lamp.

Maybe just a smidge closer. You're gonna be money!

I'm sure that really cleared it up for you lol
Give them light. They know what to do with it lol
Stoked you got some clones though!!

they havent made it back over to take more yet, i was drinking last weekend and might have been yelling random warnings over the fence for anyone else trying to get any ideas. only thing left out there are the unders i didnt cut yet, if they want to take that by all means, i have enough to keep me going for a long time lol. Im tired of trimming anyways! Hope your babies start taking off, (ive been catching up on your journal, dont get discouraged dude, you know what you are doing and you are good at it, i think you should really try a photo period plant next grow!) your still one of my favorite posters on this site, you put in the time and do your homework. Those autos i showed you are outside all day/night right now, only get about 5 hours of sun a day, lookin pretty good still

Very nice post led. Shed is awesome!! And very good to know your autos don't get much sun. I can't wait to see what they do. :thumb:

LOL I heard you BWaff. Knew exactly what you meant through the fog. Pics incoming if I can get them to transfer off my aging phone!

Thanks Joe! I am definitely a dummy but there is/was no way I had time to get through 101 pages to see who had it best. Decided I was gonna try, with a little help, from my friends!

Clone update!

First...thanks again for jumping in last night and hearing my sense of urgency. This place is great and it's because of y'all.

I was thinking about what 420d said regarding keeping them in 24/0 to get them to reveg. Since my shed lights were set to go off at 5am, I figured I would take the clones and put them under the desk lamp all night where I do my sprouting:

And when I woke up this morning, I realized that my neighbor had borrowed a plastic tub that my daughter didn't need in her dorm, so I wrangled it back. I replaced the bulb in the desk lamp with a 23 watt (100 watt equivalent) 6500K and moved it "a smidge closer" and hope that it's enough light to satisfy both the "don't let them do photosynthesis" camp and the "they need light to reveg" camp.

I sprayed them down with the cal/mag water and this is where they will be spending the day:

How wet should the soil be? "Not too wet so the stem rots but wet enough to get the roots growing." How wet is that?

Wet enough to be not dry. Moist is best not soaked though. I am not sure about the 24 hours of light.... roots grow during lights off. Don't they?

True but the two AK-47s are in flower, so they need light to make them reveg. That's what I meant when I was talking about the balance of how much vs how little.

I think the soil is pretty wet so when I get home tonight I'm going to squeeze out some of the water.
