My White Widow in flower is really starting to stack up the buds now! there was literally no downtime between switching the lighting schedule and seeing bud formation. Maybe about 12 hours? Theres also been hardly NO stretch at all. This is due to how long my veg time has been. basically a 6 month veg time cause i planned to keep mothers for clones, but the longer a plant lives, the less vigorous the clones are i find. i think the plant has grown to its size potential in its current DWC container, thats why i'm not seeing any stretch, and just bud formation.
My first run with this strain i was less than impressed. The smoke was nice, but not what i was expecting. I needed to let it go another 3 weeks i think to get the quality i was looking for. Also that extra time was needed for the trichome production too. This time she's going to go a minimum 10 weeks to ripen up fully!
I Take into consideration the fact that i let the DWC tubs run dry on one of the Widow plants, and the other got low a couple times. Not to mention i think i had a little bit longer running phenos, which are different than the plant i have in flower.
The one in flower grew one main stalk and was going to grow one main cola until i topped her about 2-3 months ago, then she got topped about 10 more times since then. The other phenotype that i flowered out in my first grow, that plant naturally topped itself. It started off all retarded looking, then as it grew vertically, it showed that it was growing 4 separate tops, which produced a really nice bush during flower.
The White widow offspring that was created with the the Great White Shark pollen is growing just exactly like its WW mother. Retarded looking, then rapidly growing 4+ tops, just a little more vigorous due to the GWS genetics introduced. Although, this is almost like a backcross, since WW is parenting genetics to the GWS. So thats why i have been seeing very uniform growth structure with these plants from seeds i made. I was expecting a bunch of freak plants and such, not vigorous growing plants that all germinated 100% and are all uniform!
I should mention that all the seeds that came from my previous grow (with the exception of seeds that managed to get into the bud buster inside buds i was about to smoke) have all germinated and planted in 1.5" rockwool cubes within 48 hours.
Thats better germination rates than i have had with seeds purchased from professional breeders!
Anyways.. time to upload a nice bunch of photos I took for Radogast and for Stealthgrow!
First bunch is going to be the Flood table, the General Hydroponic Dual Diaphragm air pump and a couple of the Sweet Tooth seedling under the LED. The rest will be of the growbox plants, even tho i didn't take a whole lot of them
I think my temperatures are finally under control.
Growbox temps:
Air = 24.4 C (75.9 F)
water = 19.4 C (67.5 F)
RH = 45 %
That water temperature is WITHOUT a chiller!! Just a 12,600BTU AC in the same room.
Even still.. anyone who says you NEED a water chiller to grow in DWC without root issues is wrong and needs to use more aquashield!!
I grew my plants just fine without a water chiller, just used a healthy dose of Aquashield all the time, and only ran into deficiencies when i forgot to change the water res out after 7 days.
