GreenThumb J's White Widow Clone Run RTF/DWC

hahaha i hate campers!!! (probably from playing Call of Duty on Playstation.. fuckin campers!)

Just kidding.. camp all you want.. no campground fees tho!! lucky for you!

The lovely GF will most likely get the first puff from the balloon.

I will obviously have to set it all up, grind the weed, get the balloon all ready, just to have the Lady have the pleasure of the first pull!!

Hahah oh god don't get me started on cod campers!!!

Oh i know!!.. fuck..

I know.. let me find the weirdest corner of the map to go prone in and then shoot someone when the FINALLY walk by.. always in the most stupid spots too!!

I'm a rushing kind of guy so the campers and the snipers really grind my gears!!

Okay folks, got yet another spending spree update!!

went out and bought all the reservoirs for my Monster RDWC that i plan to build in the next week, that i was originally going to do a side by side with Cannabis 1, but we are putting that aside for now until we can catch up in our growing schedules.

$170 later and i have hole cutting drill bits, a bunch of 1/2" PVC for my stand for my flood table as well as drip rings, Two 27gal Strong box totes, a bunch of elbows and plugs for the drip rings and my 13gal garbage can for my control Reservoir.

So like i said, i am using 2 27gal Strongboxes as my containers that will hold the plants, and a 13gal Rubbermaid touch top Garbage can for my control reservoir. I will not be using a chiller, as i do not need one. I will be using a mag drive 700GPH water pump, attached in-line with my PVC to keep the water flowing.

On the exit pipes from each RDWC container, i will have a sponge membrane similar to what you would see attached to a water pump, to prevent the roots from entering the pipe system and reducing the waterflow, and working the pump harder, or clogging the pipes completely and causing a possible overflow of one or both buckets.

I am contemplating making a top feed drip system as well but this means much more PVC tubing and more time to plan and set up, and top feed is pretty much not required when growing in DWC. I will be top feeding the plants Poop Soup (a brewed beneficial tea) once or twice a week.

I'll be adding ball valves and unions so that i can take the system apart and clean it properly, or repair a specific piece or part of the system without having to stop the grow to do it, as well i will be adding unions and ball valves to certain pieces of the plumbing so that i can add 2 more RDWC containers if this new RDWC i'm going to do, works out better than i expect.

Anyways, heres a rough idea what its going to look like. I still need to get the water pump, the 2" pvc, the ball valves and unions, the 2" pvc pieces and uniseals! Everything but the uniseals i will be getting tomorrow!! Uniseals will arrive on wednesday! So by wednesday, i should be able to put everything together for a dry run!

They will be used for flowering out my clones which will go into flower either tomorrow, or i will wait a week or two if i can manage to find space in the veg room. Will have to move the seedlings in to the LED tent for the time being!!

Looking great GT. I like your Idea about putting some sort of membrane or filter on the end of the pipes. I was also wondering how to deal with the roots entering into the pump. Also, I was worried about my Hydroclay that falls through the net cup getting sucked into the pump. For the most part, they float, but if they got sucked in, it would destroy the pump.

Now......problem solved!

Awesome. I myself am going to switch to those same totes soon! Close to the same set up! Just a tad bigger! I like your membrane idea.. I use the ngw screens but they really dont stop roots... just hydro balls.

I am a lucky woman... And damn rights I better get the first toke from that beautiful machine! Got the order slip today, ready to pick up tomorrow although we are going to try and convince the guy to release it tonight.

Although if we get it tonight there go all our building plans.. Off to the store for more pipes and filters and gadgets that Greenthumb J needs which means I guess I need them too. Stay tuned for another spending update!

Somehow my quoting got out of order, but yea. these totes are bad ass!, i used a smaller Rubbermaid roughneck tote and drilled 8 3.5" holes for net pots and ran 4 plants (WAS going to do 8, but space constraints!!) per container with 2 12" airstones in each bucket.. worked wonderful in my grow box if i wanted to grow midget plants!! this system i estimate 1.5lbs dried per container, with 2 monstrous plants in the system.

and yea, the membrane i'm sure you can pick up at any pet store for your water pumps!

Yea, i feel this would be the best way.. You could put like a sink drain screen on it or some other type of mesh screen, but A) the metal might corrode with the nutrients and shit in there (if you use metal), and B) the roots will still get into the mesh and that will actually clog the screen rather than the pipes themselves.

The membrane is great! theres a membrane on my water pump inside the grow box and no roots get into the intake even tho the roots are all up in the water pumps business!! Keeps my irrigation lines and drip emitters clog free!

Thank you Rado.. Chivalry isn't really dead like people say!!

Thanks 60cal.. The DIY stand is coming along.. i dry fit all the pieces last night, now i just need to cement all the pieces together and drill my drain hole in the flood table for the return back to the res.
