Should be pretty rare to have seeds be stopped in the mail as they don't x-ray mail only people getting on planes. Maybe 1% of all packages shipped into N America is looked at in any way. Just think they have millions of packages enter N America per day. Nope they just don't check all that stuff. Last I heard half the USA thinks paying taxes is wrong unless its for the military so... No tax dollars no searchy searchy jobs in the post office and customs.

you need to watch the show on the Canadian Border Services Agency.. I cant remember the exact name "Border Wars" was the american version. All mail that comes into canada goes through an X-ray when it arrives at Canada Post sorting facility. I remember the show seeing huge amounts of heroin stashed inside painting and such, bags of weed people vacuum sealed and put in envelopes thinking that it doesn't get X-rayed. It DOES!! The mail system would be so easy for people to send drugs and illegal paraphernalia if the postal service didn't scan what was in the envelopes or packages!

I did see a picture of a top cola, and it was huge!! i'm sure that you are going to need to either supplement with lots of silica for stronger stalks and more air flow to strengthen those stalks, or you are going to be tying up your colas with yo-yo's because the weight of the buds is too much..
Theres 4 phenotypes tho. One tall and lanky similar to the Timewreck, one short and bushy like the Orange Cream Soda, and 2 that fall in between these two extremes. All phenos have an orangey citrus smell and taste.

Wow never saw that I never had problems getting seeds. I do know from listening to the Homeland Security guys saying they cant search everything its impossible. I guess they are lying. What about Fed-Ex? I worked a the airport for a year loading mail and fed-ex trucks have their own entrance on the runway they pull up those trucks you see driving around town and the driver just literally throws bags from the truck into a plane that says FED-EX on it no searchs as far as I can tell unless FED-EX stops by the post office or customs on the way to the airport. No idea I wont incriminate myself more but YA I have sent stuff that ways large and illegal in the mail and no problems of course it was like only 2x but a dog could have smelled me out forget xrays. I have a feeling all confiscations are actually because the authorities already have a narc and they are simply waiting for the arrival of the package much easier than searching over 10million packages a day at every entrance way in the USA. I could be wrong but WOW what a stupid plan search everything its a wonder mail even moves.

well mail usually hits a conveyor belt and runs through an xray with some half ass stoner probably watching the screen. They look for obviously suspicious packages, and probably miss lots.. but it does happen thats for sure, otherwise cartels would be putting keys of coke in the mail and sending it to the states!! hahaha

as for fed ex, they do actually go through customs, at least in Canada here. Everything goes through customs. There is hardly anything that can make it through an airport without being searched (pretty sure that high ranking law enforcement people are thoroughly searched too.. CIA.. FBI.. CSIS, probably secret sevice too)

What if you use some sort of shielding. Like the vest you put on before getting x rays at the dentist? Just buy a used one, strip out the usable material, and use that to pad the envelope?
I think that would work....but would also turn a 1 lb package into a 10 lb package lol!

its possible.. but i'm sure the post office would wonder why your envelope weighs more than a typical envelope!
i'm not sure if the foam pads that the seed site ships my seeds in reflect the x-rays or not, but either way, my seeds arrive without a hitch and not crushed at all!

Take it from a professional who works with X-rays and taking them and had to learn all about it... Foam isn't going to protect them from X-rays. But it could be they are being scanned with a 100 other things by some person who is looking for big ticket items. A few seeds can sneak by no problem. Also I believe (a very educated guess) injured police dogs or dogs who fail the physical aspects of police work go to be sniffing dogs and they do a run by of big containers filled with mail... Anything that's spikes interest gets scanned. Seeds don't really smell it's more buds they are looking for or hard drugs.

I'm aware the foam doesnt block X-rays, i'm referring to the material thats on the exterior of the foam, its this plastic reflective sorta coating. but i'm sure its simply to keep the package rigid and not ruin the seeds by getting bend and crushed in transit.

Hahaha okay.. I was a little worries about you thinking foam blocks X-rays.. But even if it was a material that blocked X-rays wouldn't an envelope with that in it so you can't see the contents raise more alarm that just a regular envelope? ... Whatever it doesn't really matter as long as we get our seeds intact! Especially those Dr.Who and sonic screwdriver seeds because they are going to be awesome!

I'll agree with that 1 mass searching is plausible but it never stopped my shipments so unless you got individual inspections of 10million packages per day (probably more) your chances of losing seeds is less than 1%. Just be happy the oblivious people are finally waking up before technology gets to the point where they can easily check everything. Imagine that 100% checks= use your own clones and closests geographic friends seeds only. UGH

Okay everyone, I have a small update on the widow in flower, as well as a few photos.
I am going to post my nutrient recipe that i have concocted so that i do not have to add any water to my mix to dilute it cause the PPMs are too high. This particular recipe i have come up with is just bang on! PPMS are at the optimal range for what i want!
I am using the General Hydroponics 3-part Flora Series. IN addition to my base i mention below, i also am using General Hydroponics Rapid Start and General Hydroponics Floralicious Plus. I will be purchasing some General Hydroponics Liquid KoolBloom and KoolBloom Dry in the coming week or two and adjust my recipe accordingly.
I have this broken down into 6 stages of growth. Early veg, Late Veg, Transition, Mid-Bloom, Late Bloom and Ripening. I have a base of additives that go into the nutrient mix in the same amounts every time, with the exception of Late Bloom and Ripening. In these stages, i drop a couple ingredients that i will go over.
Base:
4ml/gal Botanicare Cal/Mag +
10ml/gal Botanicare Aquashield
1ml/gal GH ArmorSi
** Add ArmorSi FIRST to fresh water and mix well **
** Add FloraBlend AFTER all nutrients and mix well ** (see recipe below for amount of FloraBlend)
I will be using abbreviations for each ingredient in the recipe.
G = FloraGrow
M = FloraMicro
B = FloraBloom
RS = Rapid Start
FL+ = Floralicious Plus
FLB = FloraBlend ** Remember, this is added VERY LAST **
** All the following measurements are PER GALLON. **

Each week i also brew my modified version of Heisenberg Tea. In replacement of the Ancient Forest, since it isn't available in Canada, i use Floralicious Plus for my humic acid supplement to the tea. Also, instead of Plant Success' Great White, i use Gen Hydro's Subculture-M.
My Tea Recipe:
In 10L of water I add:
30ml Gen Hydro FloraBlend
30ml Botanicare Aquashield
20ml Botanicare Pure Blend Tea
6ml Gen Hydro Rapid Start
2.5 teaspoon Gen Hydro Subculture-M
1 tablespoon Blackstrap molasses
I put an airstone in the bucket and let aerate for a minimum of 24 hours. I waited i'm sure closer to 30hrs before pouring it over the base of the stalk of each plant.
So now that i have that out of the way, lets get up to speed with the Widow and the grow box and its progess.
White Widow:
Today/tomorrow morning-ish, marks day 21 of 12/12 for the Widow. The tricomes are starting to really cake up. Gave her a fresh reservoir change in the Transition stage recipe, because i want a little more N in the mix right now as some of the newer growth was coming in light in colour.

Yesterday one of my ballasts that power one of the two lights malfunctioned and now needs to be replaced. Which i will do tomorrow!
Other than that, the grow box is running great. The 5 plants what are in there are so damn bushy!!
The Grow box is on day9 of flower, hopefully they dont grow into the lights again.

That recipe i should mention is a drain to waste feeding schedule, but i can also be implemented to be a recirculating system, or a DWC system, by slightly increasing the G,M,B of the mix.
But using the 3 part flora series in accordance with the other supplements GH makes, this recipe is easy to mix, and you dont have to adjust PPM once its mixed up.
I actually just went and read their feeding schedules that they have online, and my recipe is almost similar, with the exception of a couple things
C1... The tea is amazing. If you have root issues... Heisenberg!! Plants looking a little worse for wear? Heisenberg!! Transplant shock? Heisenberg!! Needless to say.... Heisenberg!!!
I'm going to brew up some tea tomorrow so that i can give it to my clones in flower.. two of them are developing this spotting on the leaves.. I'm gona take some pics of the leaves tonight and research it in the morning..
***UPDATE:***
I am starting to deal with a bout of god damn Fungus Gnats.... In Rockwool.. I have determined that the damaged leaves on the Widow i have in flower is in fact Fungus gnat damage.
Tomorrow i will be getting some mosquito dunks from Home Deport or wherever i can find some locally. I am also lookin into geting some Sierra Natural Science SNS-203 (dont worry mods.. they're a sponsor! dont get mad at me for almost MENTIONING a non sponsor... you know!!) to battle my gnats head on and in an aggressive way. i dont have time or patience to fuck around... so i'm getting the job done right, and done the first time! No home remedies.. no "organic" remedies.. No Non-working remedies... I'm going for the knockout blow right away. Everything i read.. SNS products work. hands down. So why not go with what people trust?
Also, on a more positive note, I have replaced my faulty ballast. The guys at BCNL tested it, and although it did work, it doesn't work properly, so they just grabbed a new one from the warehouse, plugged it into a producer unit that was on the show floor, and tested and showed me that it works. So at 9am, when the lights are supposed to come on, i will find out if it was the ballast and not in fact something else that i cant figure out!!

Also, i have learned how to reprogram the computer system in my grow box. I am now able to change what time of the day my automated light timers turn on the lights.. I can now change the time of day that the grow box waters the plants at. I am also now able to add a second or a third watering time for later in the evening. I actually learned quite a lot while i made my trip out there today!!
Also, i got the heads up from one of their managers (warehouse i think) about an upcoming "garage sale" they are having with loads of cheap and discounted products. Including nutrients. BC Northern Lights has a partnership with Future Harvest and actually give out the 3-Part Holland's secret from Plant Life with purchases of their grow boxes, or directly ordered through them as an official reseller.
Whats good for me is, he told me that 95% of their customers, dont live locally, so i will most likely have free picks to whatever i wanted (providing i can afford it hahah)
Also, my Five 2" uniseals i ordered from this Canadian company that does Radon detection systems and related stuff, arrived today in my mailbox. For my Monster RDWC. A nice little box that fit nicely inside:
I'm a little worried that these aren't the ones that i need for this particular system, because the video i saw in which it was built, the uniseals snapped into place..
FUCK!! i just read on the website... these are bushings.. not bulkheads!! GRRRRR. looking like i have to order them somewhere else now!!
