Refresh my memory, is that Panama Red?

Refresh my memory, is that Panama Red?

It's Ace Seeds Panama - the one I said you should run. :cheesygrinsmiley: I don't think they have a Red, per se. I understand there's a green pheno that pops up frequently, and then these variations of red. Most of the time, it shows as pink pistils. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I got a lousy 24 grams of fluffy bud from Cotton Candy, but it's good smoke - and I now have 11 strains on hand. :cheesygrinsmiley: Those of you who are running the Herbie's freebies, you should be pleased. I tossed the cut I have when I remembered that I still had more seeds. I can run it again if I decide I like it enough.

Carnival is next up with what I think will be another two weeks to finish. She's recovered from the pistil stall and has started the swell. Trich production has improved a little, but it's nothing dramatic. Most of the similar strains I've run have beem much stickier and denser at this stage. It may be my mysterious drop in brix, or ... not. I'm planning to feed it Energy/Tea until finish.

Grapefruit is the most interesting right now. It had that dead soil issue during veg, so I started feeding it Energy and it developed this two-toned look. The early fans are all yellow and dull, and the later ones are green and shiny. :cheesygrinsmiley: I doubt the soil has truly hooked up, but it sure is pumping out the trichs. It got Trans/Tea last feeding and the next one will be Cat drench, so we'll see if it has enough oomph in the soil to benefit. I'd want this one to turn out well because I like the genetics - C99 x Sativa - seems right up my alley. I have a cut in veg if I like this one.

Carn1 went into 12/12. This one really looks good! Carnival grows much like JD and WP - very civilized, easy to clone, vigorous ...

Carn2 and PanSeed will both go into 12/12 this weekend. I'm pretty sure Panama pollinated itself, but there's a chance it was a JD. It should be clear as this one matures, and I'll be pleased either way. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Green Love Potion got potted and topped this week. So far, it looks like this one is an indica leaning pheno.

Juicy brix huh.. I'm definitely gonna get a kit from doc- but I was wondering, does he ship to boxes or how do you guys do it? I'd rather not have my address floating around in some guys desk drawer. I guess I could ship to a buddies place, but he might not appreciate that

I don' know, BT - just message him. All my stuff has come in USPS if-it-fits boxes anyway - could be anything ...

Sheesh, I had to replace my 600w hps bulb ... Again! Yesterday, the room was dark an hour after lights-on, but it lit when I reset the ballast. Today, I checked right away, and yep, bulb wouldn't fire. Luckily, I had an Ushio on hand.

So, that's two bulbs in 9 months? These were cheapy bulbs, but still ...

Is this ununsual? Maybe the Ushio will last longer. *mutter* Makes a guy rethink LEDS.

I was fiddling with my vegging girls and discovered that I had been a little too harsh with GLP's two apical tops - they're damaged and falling way behind. Heheh, oops.

DSCN43822.JPG

DSCN4375.JPG

But I thought I'd also show some pics of how I train for a flat-top canopy. The main idea is that the highest top will grow fastest, because it will produce the highest growth hormone. In the process of shifting the growth around, you also promote root growth over stem growth, because you're constantly disrupting the apical hormones. By the time they're ready for flower, I get a 18 inch deep flat-top canopy of 8-20 tops, with a fully developed root system.

If you pull the higher branches out and away, they'll dip lower, and if you push the lower branches in and up they rise higher. You can bend the stems of the higher ones out, and they'll slowly rise back up, and over time with repeated bending, they'll stay lower, growing more slowly until they rise back. Eventually, they all get synced up and grow at the same rate well into flowering. Lately, I've discovered that simply bending the very pliable first few inches works better than stressing the branch lower. You can see it in these pics. Within hours, those stems will recover, but in that time, the lower ones grow as fast or faster.

And on a different note, I'm done with peat plugs. 13 days ago, I dipped this cut in generic rooting powder and stuck it in a wet cup of HB soil and put this spoon lid on it, and the sucker never skipped a beat. It's growing again now.
