Graytail's Cupwinners in High Brix Soil - 4x4 - 600W HPS - Perpetual

I've got a good supply of SLH, but I've been reluctant to run it because of headaches and slight edginess that I got when I ran it in other kinds of soil, or when I tried a hydro version of it.

This might sway my decision on what's next!

I was admiring my Panama, Doc, and thought of you and your Columbian Golds. I know you already have a list of strains to run, but this Panama from Ace Seeds is a very interesting strain, with an array of fabulous phenos, all with a strong sativa high. As far as I can tell, it's all inbred Panama strains - no indica - and feels a lot like a landrace to me. It's actually not, but it has a nice integrity to it. And the high is unlike other sativas I've smoked - more liquid and thick. The phenos vary, but no one seems to get any real clunkers. There's a 80+ page thread on the interwebs about it. It's a great strain to use for crosses too - very vigorous. :cheesygrinsmiley: And it sure seems to like HB jus' fine.

Some HBer should run this one. It feels a lot like a heritage strain to me. :thumb:

ill def take a deep look at it with the next bean order!

I chopped Pana1 today. This one has even more purple than its mother. :cheesygrinsmiley:

And the scissor hash was especially nice. Unlike some strains, this feels like what the high should really be, y'know? I'm gonna have to make me a nice batch of Panama kief - I have two harvests worth of trim. :rasta:

Here's her purdy harvested self:

cccccccccccongrats again gray.

Thanks a ton, BAR!

Pretty impressive work with Laverne, yourself. The threeveg is gonna be a blast to watch! :thumb:

Some Lovely Lavender Ladies there, Graytail...Congrats! :goodjob:

Thanks, Shrike! It'll be good to have you on the HB team when you get going. :thumb:

Wow! Much congrats! Those are my kind of buds mate! Woo Hoo!!! :cheertwo:

Heheh, she's a looker allright. YOU should run some Panamas - most of the grows I see are outdoor. 70-80% of the current strain shows pink pistils outdoors and 10% or so have foliar coloration. And it's a fun sativa - sorta thick and sticky, unlike the hazes.

The purple is pretty! That plant that's been 12/12 for 31 days is going to be very heavy!

Yeah, I really like the looks of Carnival so far - I have two cuts right behind her in veg. Kinda reminds me of my Jamaican Dream. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I think both Carnival and Cotton Candy will yield 3+ oz, and they're both going to finish under 30 inches. Y'know Mac, it was reading your journal and seeing the way you trained your canopy that led me to these short plants. It just made sense to me. I was also thinking seriously about a scrog, and then I realized that I could do a netless scrog by training each plant into a mass of even tops and adjust their height to make a scrog without the fixed pots. I get the same effect but I can move my pots and adjust them at will.

Thanks for the inspiration. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Well thank you, you have really got some nice work going there. Funny thing, I'm coaching young plants for outdoors right now, and I'm doing as little manipulation as possible. I'm getting ready for my second outdoor season, and while there are many similarities, the outdoor work is offering a whole new set of challenges. I am in a position to do some experimenting...and I put a teenage plant outside on the equinox, to try to get a better understanding of the relationship between daylength, and a plants reaction to a change, to a reduced daylength that is increasing daily. I will be able to improve my timing when decreasing artificial light hours to take plants outside with as little stress, or premature flowering as possible. Again, you have fine healthy plants!

Oh nice PotChimp.... I was just reading on them and they are one that is suggested for MS so I am thinking about ordering some myself. I will be paying attention to how they grow for ya.......:circle-of-love:

It may be a bit on these ones, but I'm hoping over the next few grows 6 of them will go in. I've got a Critical cross grow starting in about 3 weeks, then a Charlotte's Web one, then I was gonna do a Hippie Killer grow, but I'll start these instead. I expect to start them in late May or early June. 13/11 under a CFL (1 month), 13/11 under a 600 watt MH @ 75% (until full enough to SCROG), then 9.5/14.5 under a 600 watt HPS @ 100% until done. And definitely organic nutes. I'm 95% leaning towards a product called Buy-oh Live (not spelled that way) mixed in the soil, Buy-oh Link 3-3-3 for compost teas (veg), Buy-oh Link 0-5-5 for compost teas (flower), and Buy-oh Link Micronutrients mixed with both teas and used for the first 3 weeks of waterings.

The 3-3-3 is a lovely thing, I never use anything for veg over 5-5-5..........AND, at 50% of max rec. concentration. These high concentrations of nutrient applications are referred to as "force feeding".... by masters I know. It's all in the ash, white is good, anything less and you're getting a product that could be better. Just my opinion, but I know of an indoor grower that probably uses 20 different products in their growing practices.........you can flush it til Christmas, but that stuff is locked into the cells of the plant...not floating around waiting to be expelled by copious amounts of water.....and more chemicals? Common sense must always overrule dictation....if not, all is lost! Great plan chimpster! + reps for you!

Cotton Candy went full bore hermie on me! *mutter*

First I noticed its buds stunting like it was too close to the light, so I moved it away a bit, and a couple days later I saw a nanner, so I pulled the plant to take a closer look and found 'em all over the lower buds. So I'll be getting some seeds with a Cotton Candy father. I was so pissed that I dumped most of it into the soil bin for recycling - didn't want to mess with trimming a plant that's only been blooming for 4 weeks. But I did trim up the good colas and I'll probably get something less than an ounce of decent smoke.

Carnival's pistils are browning a bit. It's billed as a 9 week strain, and the one grower to report to seedfinder finished his in 7 weeks. I planned on 10 weeks, but this may be a genuinely early finisher. So, it either has 4 weeks to go or 2. :cheesygrinsmiley: It still looks like 3+ weeks to me.

Grapefruit still doesn't look very good, but it's making up for it in trich production. It's only been blooming for 16 days and it's pretty frosty! It finally got Trans/Tea today after all the Energy and next time is Cat drench so it'll be interesting to watch the trichs. Small plant, but it'll have very good colas.

SLH2 is also looking especially vigorous. The HB soil has really helped with the character of the high. It's still a little too hazey for me by itself, but it's great for a nice buzzy lift before smoking something more calming.

Carn1 will go into 12/12 this weekend. I'm really glad the cuts turned out so well. They were the only ones that didn't give me trouble and now I have two more ready to flower. Carn2 will be ready a week later, along with my Panama from the self-seeding. Both Carn2 and PanaSeed got topped.
