My brix numbers are crappy, guys, and I don't know why. Last week they came in just over 10 on the entire group, and this week they haven't changed. So ...
If the numbers are low, it means the plants, plural, aren't able to properly absorb minerals and/or produce sugars. If it was just one plant, that wouldn't be unusual, but it's all of them. I checked my meter and it's zeroed. The plants are in different growth stages, so it can't be the soil. I don't know of anything unusual in the room, other than the time change - I moved the timer a half hour. Maybe that. It would also explain the CC hermie, but I didn't think they were that sensitive to a half hour change.
Could it be from getting pollinated? That would explain the browning pistils on the Carnival. Maybe brix numbers fall with seed production? Although, the ones just starting flower have low brix, too.
My soil seems highly alive, digesting plant material like a magician with a rabbit. It's possible that I have elevated calcium from my hard water, but we like calcium. And if it's the soil, I should see low numbers in the newest plants and higher numbers in the oldest ones, but there's no correlation.
I thought last week was an aberration, but this week was the same.
