Graytail's Cupwinners in High Brix Soil - 4x4 - 600W HPS - Perpetual

Bummer on the hermie, who was the breeder? And I assume you know, but the seeds you get are more then likely going to be hermie too :(

The breeder was Delicious Seeds. Ya, probably risky, but at least I'd be forewarned. It'll depend on how good the smoke is. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Very nice group of plants graytail. Man the hermie thing is minor. I just basically f'ed up a whole lot of plants from a root aphid infestation. Treated them with some nasty stuff to try and save what I had, and I think I may just scrap everything unfortunately.

I am gonna do coco for awhile and eventually get another brix kit cooking, when I have some money. my root aphid infestation cost me dearly. I am embarrassed to even show my plants but you will most likely see them in my video I do tonight. might not post until tomorrow though.

reps on the killer plants buddy.

damn im away for a few days and you bomb it with a ton of delicious frosty nugs O licious-ness.........:cheertwo:

GREAT JOB +REP!!!! AMAZING JOB

Those are some crazy purple colors lovely to say the least. I feel like i could just about smell it :high-five::peace:

My brix numbers are crappy, guys, and I don't know why. Last week they came in just over 10 on the entire group, and this week they haven't changed. So ...

If the numbers are low, it means the plants, plural, aren't able to properly absorb minerals and/or produce sugars. If it was just one plant, that wouldn't be unusual, but it's all of them. I checked my meter and it's zeroed. The plants are in different growth stages, so it can't be the soil. I don't know of anything unusual in the room, other than the time change - I moved the timer a half hour. Maybe that. It would also explain the CC hermie, but I didn't think they were that sensitive to a half hour change.

Could it be from getting pollinated? That would explain the browning pistils on the Carnival. Maybe brix numbers fall with seed production? Although, the ones just starting flower have low brix, too.

My soil seems highly alive, digesting plant material like a magician with a rabbit. It's possible that I have elevated calcium from my hard water, but we like calcium. And if it's the soil, I should see low numbers in the newest plants and higher numbers in the oldest ones, but there's no correlation.

I thought last week was an aberration, but this week was the same.

It's a nice thick fragrant smoke, too - piney cedar diesel with a sweet floral note - and a solid punch. It's a keeper! :blunt:

Thanks for the reps!

Hmmm I hope you can zero in on the reason. That seems odd!

Yeah, and they don't look bad with the exception of the Grapefruit. I'd like to see better trich production on the Carnival, but the leaves look great. The youngsters look just like they should, with lime green new growth and shiny leaves spiking upward ..

Dunno ...

Loving it Gray.

Yeah, very nice update. Lots of stuff going on there. Too bad on the hermie, can't win 'em all right? Hard to suppress a hundred thousand years of natural selection anyway... Looking great Keep 'em green as NW says. ;)

Over and Out :passitleft:

I just wanted you to know how much I think it sucks AND blows that you had to deal with f'n bugs. Sheesh. You're one of my benchmark growers - it's just all karmacally wrong.

The new gear looks interesting - coco - I'll be paying attention..

It might be time for a fresh start with the soil? You've had a heck of a run with this batch, Gray, but I don't recall you making a "fresh start" with a new kit?

You've been burning some serious rubber. Is recharge the same as retreading tires?

Well, I have roughly 90 gallons of soil and I've run 15 plants through it at 6 gallons apiece for 90 gallons. I still have 45 gallons with plants in it ... so I'm on 2nd round roughly. I only have a soil "sink" of 25-30 gallons, though, so it's all in different stages. At first I considered the amount of amendment I have probably added, and I've gone through 2 kits, so if anything, there might a slightly higher mineral concentration. I might also have a salts issue. But the life in the soil bin is at a peak. It totally destroys plant matter, and it's noticeably warmer than the ambient air. The plants themselves look perfectly fine. I took a good hard look at everything today, making sure I had an objective look, and they really look good. Every plant in every stage of growth is perky, vibrant, glowing, etc.

Dunno. If it keeps up, I'll try flushing. I've had 15 HB harvests now, and high brix correlates with stronger terpenes and THC levels in the strains I've grown. I'd like to get a handle on what's happening.

It's hard to say, Gray. I have lots of living soil on hand, too. The thing is the soil in a bin is not the same now as it was three months ago... Things have been happening in there.

LOL, the sad truth is I DO need help smoking it! :cheesygrinsmiley:

And I'd love to pass it around to other growers for judgement. But things are the way they are. Bah.

I'd love to go to the 420 Rally this year, but the good luck faerie hasn't shown up recently, so ...

It'd be cool to be able to share and compare. :cheesygrinsmiley:

(BTW, I've been testing the CC, and it's some pretty good smoke!)

Grapefruit is getting VERY frosty for a plant just 20 days in bloom. It supposedly has another 5 weeks to go. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Grapefruit - 106 days old - 31 days 12/12 - 20 days since pistils - brix 8/8

And Cotton Candy has a serious punch! Whew. Not bad for a plant only 4 weeks in bloom. I think I can feel the Power Plant in it - very spacey stuff. :blunt:
