Graytail's Cupwinners in High Brix Soil - 4x4 - 600W HPS - Perpetual

Hey, TanR, old friend, I saw you post awhile ago ...

How the heck are you? You must have had a few harvests by now - how'd they go?

:cheesygrinsmiley:

Update time again! :cheesygrinsmiley:

I've tested both the Utopia Haze and Tangerine Dream and I am duly impressed. When I started growing, I set out to find a sativa like the ones I used to know, but after the failures with the Indian Skunk and Hawaiian Snow, I had pretty much talked myself into being satisfied with sativa dom hybrids. I like both Jamaican Dream and White Panther and they're a breeze to grow, so why do I want to mess with a slow ill-behaved sativa? Well these two have changed my mind again. They'll both be done within 12 weeks, they both have good solid buds, and they both are really nice sativa highs. :cheesygrinsmiley: If I can't reveg Utopia, I'll try fem seed again - I think it's a fairly stable strain. And since TD looks like it'll turn out, I'll probably try another tall lanky pure sativa.

Here's the yummy Utopia Haze, still pumping out fat calyxes. Oh, I almost forgot - brix 16/17!!!!!

I'm really loving the look of this Tangerine Dream - those long chevron buds - I swear I grew some plants just like this back in the day. I can remember the dry buds popping of the branches like wheat kernels off a stalk. Just like these. And the sandlewood plays tricks too. The sample I took was very nice - no particular aroma or taste, it's an early bud - but a very good clear high. More testing will be required. :cheesygrinsmiley: I gave her another shot of drench today - she has another 2+ weeks to go, I estimate.

The next three are running at about the same pace. The SLH Reveg should be a week ahead of the others, but she's been falling back. I think there are just too many bud sites on this plant - should have thinned it more, but ... brix rocketed up this week to 15/17, so she must be happy. The Jamaican Dream is looking fabulous again - it's just an amazing strain - look at the trich production at 25 days after pistil set! And the White Panther is no slouch either. I love plants at this stage, all healthy and vibrant and growing trichs like mad. The WP1 and JD4 both got their first drench today - SLH will wait a little while more.

I'm excited about this Panama! The last one was gorgeous and I had no idea it was coming. I get to watch this one develop and it's so much bigger. Mm-mph.

I LSTed Cotton Candy and she's getting all bushy - nice strain

I topped Grapefruit and she's been slow to recover - one of those strains that fully intends to grow straight up with side branches that develop later.

I topped Carnival too, and she had no such issues - took it in stride. :cheesygrinsmiley: In fact she thrived on it. This is going to be a nice fat bushy plant.

My cuttings were a pitiful failure. I managed to save a WP and 2 SLH's, and the JD is too far into bloom to root easily, so I lost that unless I reveg or mess with a blooming cut. I took another batch yesterday.

Awesome plants man. If looking for more Sativa don't count the Hawaiian Snow out, may have been bad pheno, the pheno I been growing, but not well until recently lol, seems to be a possible keeper, unless one of other 4 turns out better. I would love to try that utopia haze or tangerine dream. Too much going on as it is though lol.

I'll be watching yours, Crawdaddy. There still so many strains to try, I don't know if I'll do another HS. You'll just have to show me, heheh. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I'm loving that Utopia Haze. Very nice plants there Graytail!

Thanks, Doc! Utopia was a very nice surprise for me. How much longer do you think she'll go?

I've never grown the strain, bro. But I was to have my way with her, I'd probably finish with Energy and harvest in 4 weeks. I base this on the white pistils. At least wait till those suck up and the calyx swell. Then you'll something very special.

My whiteflies tend to do quite well this time of year, and they were becoming annoying so I gave everything a dose of Bug/Pest yesterday. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Heheh, they really don' like that stuff. Today there are almost none, and the ones that were still around seemed confused.

I also realized that the foliars are a great way to introduce humidity into my room. When I water, of course, RH shoots up into the 50s, but I get the same effect when I spray stress and brix. It's not stable RH, but it keeps the room from settling into the 20s.

Yes, it is!

Utopia Haze is a brilliant wake n bake strain - beautifully subtle and firm - yum! It's been so long since I smoked a pure sativa ... aaaahh ... sigh. Four hits and I'm firmly set for the morning - no fatigue, no dullness ... :slide::yahoo:

The buds are hard and crunchy with a sort of floral pine inhale and a woodsy vanilla exhale. I think I'll try revegging this one.

:thumb:

Pure sativas are nice; I haven't smoked a good one in a bit myself. This Bubba Kush I got puts you on the couch. It's good for night time though. :)

the garden looks great!!

i really like the look and fast swell of that JD4!!!

It's a very nice strain, virtually unknown, but I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't take a second hit - very aromatic - the most scent from any of my strains when you open the jar. It's grown this way every time for me. :cheesygrinsmiley: Just a blast to grow!

I haven't had a heavy indica yet, but I know I'm going to have to try a Kush or two just so I know what they're all about.

I'm pretty excited about these sativas. I've been getting along with some fairly zippy hybrids, but the TD and Utopia Haze are the real thing, especially the Utopia. I've been hitting it in the mornings and it's so much better than the JD or WP for that.

Tangerine Dream started to hermie on me so I chopped her today. I noticed what I thought were nanners a few days ago, and I was just going to manage them - pluck 'em, but they're not nanners, they're full male flowers, so she had to go. I think it could have gone another week or two, but I'm pretty happy with the bud structure and the yield. I'll know in a few days if it's potent enough - got a feeling it is. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I'm not shocked about it - sativas are prone to hermie in late flower. In fact, some pure sativa strains will just sorta bloom in waves week after week until they eventually hermie.

But this is the third harvest in a row, three different strains, that I had to take because of nanners or hermies. I did find a small yellow indicator bulb on my timer - it was well hidden, but ... maybe that was it. I thought it was cold temps for the first two, but now I'm not sure what it is.

Green isn't usually a problem - our plants don't see green. In fact I have a green one on the same timer ...

Maybe I should cover that, too ... ?
