Graytail's Cupwinners in High Brix Soil - 4x4 - 600W HPS - Perpetual

I wonder how a real lanky sativa would react to bloomit and cat drench real early in flower...

I have a vague memory from one of Doc's earlier journals that you can risk shortening the blooming period with the enhancers. Maybe he'll pipe up.

I gave the TD her first drench 30 days after pistil set, which is a little late, but I wasn't satisfied with the buds until then. She got another drench 5 days later, which was 17 days ago. I think I got the timing just right for this particular plant - sure looks good right now. :cheesygrinsmiley: I'm considering another drench in 3 days, which would be 3 weeks from estimated finish.

Can't really judge that stuff by calender days bro. It's more what stage the bud is in its development.

Hmm, ok, I assembled a series of pics over the weeks. It doesn't look like an obvious progression to me, but here goes.

this first pic is at 86 days, 28 days after the flip, 12 days after pistil set. This would be the 4-5 week after flip to give it drench, but no good bud growth yet.

93 days, 35 days after the flip, 19 days after pistil set. At this point, I still didn't think the buds were large enough for drench yet.

Here it is a week later at 100 days

Again at 107 days - got the drench at 104 days

114 days after a second drench at 109 days

121 days - 17 days from the first drench, 12 days from the second drench.

Here it is today at 127 days

I kept this one to 31 inches with 7 slender colas - takes up maybe 2 sq ft - but I don't know if I could duplicate it.

This seedling broke ground like a cheetah, with the meristem growing an inch a day ... so I topped it. Then the second pair took over and did the same thing, so I topped them too, but ... it didn't like that, and proceeded to shrivel up the remaining tips, so I nipped them off, too. After a week of whimpering, it managed to get 7 going from there, and it's been completely tame ever since. But this is a throwback pheno of TD and I didn't take a clone, so this'll be a one-off.

This is the ugly mess of stems I ended up with - but it worked!

When you have loads of pistols hit it with energy. When the bud swells from energy and it starts pushing pistols again hit her with cat drench once, give it a couple water/transplants then energy. That's the best I can describe what I look for.

That's my instinct, too. Cat drench will build what's there, but it has to be there first. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I clipped the bottom-most branch from the Utopia Haze for more testing ... :cheesygrinsmiley:

Oh that bud is so pretty. It looks like it might be very potent too...:thumb: I still plan on doing a HB but decided it would be best to wait until spring when I can get outside to play with the soil since having 2 40 gal tubes of soil in my little house doesn't really make me want to do back flips. Well it might but it would be out the back door and it is just too cold right now..........:loopy: Any who I love the way she looks and want to hear how she smokes....:passitleft:

Well, Utopia Haze was dry enough to smoke, and yeah this is the most potent yet. :thedoubletake: Wow!

The initial rush on this one is overwhelming - like getting blown underwater by a big warm wave. After a couple minutes of blinky-blinky things clear up though, and it turns into a really nice buzz, social enough for experienced smokers - probably good for philosophical moods. I don't get any hint of sedation from it and no paranoia either - a good firm energetic buzz. Tomorrow I'm going to try a wake n bake with it and see how it goes.

I'll do a more thorough report later, but if anyone has been thinking of trying Utopia Haze, do it - it's a winner! :thumb:

Good morning :)

Yes, it is!

Utopia Haze is a brilliant wake n bake strain - beautifully subtle and firm - yum! It's been so long since I smoked a pure sativa ... aaaahh ... sigh. Four hits and I'm firmly set for the morning - no fatigue, no dullness ... :slide::yahoo:

The buds are hard and crunchy with a sort of floral pine inhale and a woodsy vanilla exhale. I think I'll try revegging this one.

Wake and bake to ya Graytail........:circle-of-love:

Thank ya, darlin' - 2.5 hours and I'm still hummin' nicely! :cheesygrinsmiley:

I hope I get some yield from this one ...
