Graytail's Cupwinners in High Brix Soil - 4x4 - 600W HPS - Perpetual

Doc, this is an odd one - got me confused - it looks like it's ready to finish. It got its first Cat drench 12 days ago, 23 days after it set pistils, and it reacted well, but ... It's supposed to be a 12 week strain, and now it looks ready to finish in 9. That'd be a week and a half from now, so no time for another drench. Unless ... I'm misinterpreting its look and it can revive flowering ... ? Fan leaves are turning yellow and pistils are browning ... buds are plump ... all I'm missing is a trich explosion.

So ... drench? ... transplant? I have 2.5 weeks at most, unless it restarts.

I look at that and it looks like it's still pushing out pistils and could easily double in size. Cat drench it again, followed up by a very light Transplant (1/4 oz per 5 gallons) feeding the next time it needs water and I think you'll squeeze about double the yield from it, hopefully with lots more triches!

I try to have very few white pistils at the end. Like this:

Awright, will do! They're scheduled for watering tomorrow.

[Edit] Has anyone checked to see how drench affects brix? I'll be getting a reading 2 days after this Utopia drench.

Tangerine Dream is growing on me. These buds look very familiar from the old days, and the sandlewood scent triggers memories. I think I may have found sumpin here.

I just remembered that I haven't done a smoke report on White Panther yet. :cheesygrinsmiley:

This strain is a winner on all fronts. It's very well behaved with a typical hybrid growth pattern - very easy to grow - and for those who like taller plants, this one has especially strong stems. It finished 10.5 weeks from the flip, 9 weeks from pistil set, and I could easily have taken it a few days earlier. Its cuttings root especially well. :cheesygrinsmiley:

As it grew, the strain had a pronounced mint aroma, but the buds are classic lemon diesel. Of the strains I've smoked, this one's bouquet is one of the stronger ones, only behind Jamaican Dream and perhaps Panama - won't know until Panama cures. If you smoke a lot of it, your lips will taste lemony as well as anything you sip from a glass. :cheesygrinsmiley: The buzz is strongly sativa, very sociable - less social than Indian Skunk, but much stronger. It feels like classic old school Mexican - it rings bells from back then. It's not a completely clear-headed high, but you can wake n bake with it. It's the sort of strain I'd bring out before a dinner with guests, or some evening party - a nice comfortable, relaxing stone.

For a commercial grow, this would be easy and profitable. I got 3.67 oz off a 22 inch plant in 135 days.

My WP seems to have come out more on the pine spectrum than the citrus. The effect seems to be similar, however. The WP is really nice smoke. I recommend it highly.

The TD looks lovely. It's too bad the "industry" likes different bud structure for the most part, because I also enjoy these highly "sativafied" strains. I've found if you make hash and also stick to rolling joints, those types of buds can be a real party starter. They have a ton of energy, in my experience.

Brix should go up after the Cat Drench.....try to get the pots really wet with regular water, then chase that down with a gallon of Cat Drench. You could mix that at say 8mil per gallon.

Well, brix didn't fall, and did go up a point for the second crush. Utopia Haze is looking good! This is going to be an interesting strain. I took the verymost bottom branch to sample, trimmed it and rinsed it under the sink, tried to burn a wet pipeful and wasn't impressed much. Two days later, I fired up the dried bud and ... whew ... blew myself away in two hits. Like a switch. I'd been puffing on the JD already, but that first hit of Utopia got my attention and the second held it. So of course I had to do that again right away. :cheesygrinsmiley: Now comes the interesting part. The next morning I hit the Utopia first and there wasn't anything special about it, so I went back to JD. I did it again later in the day after smoking other pot first and it blew me away again. Has anyone had this effect from a strain before?

Here she is lookin pretty fine

Tangerine Dream is starting to come on strong - calyxes are swelling and she reeks of sandlewood. I'm fairly pleased with the way this Neville's pheno is growing - nothing like my miserable Hawaiian Snow. It may turn out well, after all. About 4 weeks to go.

SLH Reveg has stopped her stretch and is in full flower now. If I can guide her well enough, I think I can get another 3 oz from this one.
Early trich population is looking fairly good.

I can't wait to see how my Panama clone turns out. She's a little larger than her mother and she looks better - leaves already turning magenta. :cheesygrinsmiley: She set pistils this week.

Looking nice in there Graytail. :thumb:

Some world class plants there, truly. :green_heart::popcorn:

Great looking, thick and healthy...they look wonderful

Looking spectacular as always. I really liked your smoke report too. That lemon taste sounds wonderful. I am yet to experience something like that :)

Thanks for the props everyone!

Zounds, the garden is looking good right now! The old ones are thickening up and the youngsters are praying to the light. Mph, I like this high brix growing.

Thanks for the reps, Chimp - coming from a guy who's run so many of these iffy sativas - like a box o' chocolates, eh? I saw the last pic of your OTH clone and I honestly don't know what I'd do with something like that, heheh.

She's still looking very promising. I'm kinda stumbling around in the dark on this one, but I haven't messed it up yet ... still got a few weeks to go. :cheesygrinsmiley: The sandlewood is alluring - like catnip ... the nose says I'm gonna like it.

I've always enjoyed reading the chimp's sativa antics. I've always thought I couldn't really do it because it would be limited to a 18x24x48 space. The 48" height is based on the top of the plant being 16" from the LED light source. The container will eat up 12-14 inches of that. The actual plant would have to be 36", maybe 40" max. Roughly how tall and wide is that TD Gray? I've seen a few people really struggle with the strain, but when it's done right it looks like a fun grow.

I kept this one to 31 inches with 7 slender colas - takes up maybe 2 sq ft - but I don't know if I could duplicate it.

This seedling broke ground like a cheetah, with the meristem growing an inch a day ... so I topped it. Then the second pair took over and did the same thing, so I topped them too, but ... it didn't like that, and proceeded to shrivel up the remaining tips, so I nipped them off, too. After a week of whimpering, it managed to get 7 going from there, and it's been completely tame ever since. But this is a throwback pheno of TD and I didn't take a clone, so this'll be a one-off.

What makes me nervous about strains like Chimp's OTH is the branching and internode length. If you can't reduce that, you end up with too much plant.:surrender:
