Graytail's Cupwinners in High Brix Soil - 4x4 - 600W HPS - Perpetual

Serendipity, Steppenwolf! I just found out Any2cards has 6 of 'em a few weeks old, and I was just now trying to remember who else was running the Wild Thailand. T'was your own fine self! I think yours is a month ahead of mine? How's it been growing?

Major bummer on the Tangerine Dream - sheesh, wispy and 8%? I was kinda planning on it being like the Jamaican Dream and the SLH. The pics I saw in everyone's grows looked just like my winners. Oh well, heheh, I'll know for sure in late January - mine is 13 days old today. I should ask Backpackin how he liked it - he had a couple I think.

Not really a major bummer about that Tangeriine. I love the smoke others do too. I was real surprised about the THC percent. Oh well. Off to the next great strain discovery. That wild Thai is pushing 20" tall and happy and healthy as are most all my plants anymore. Since using the kit from Doc. I am really looking forward to flowering that one. Something about those world of seeds landrace strains makes me excited. I will definitely be watching your Tangerine dream to compare notes. I only grew a few of em out from seed so it could've just been me.

I never heard how backpackin liked that Tangerine either.

Hey Graytail thanks for stopping by! Yea I wanted to get a grow in before doing the Thai but when I saw them I just said fuggit and had to go there! He could not stop talking about them so I said what the hell. He is a heavy user and said one rip had him going! Anyone had this tested?

Peace,

Any2

It stretched like crazy after flip went from 9.5" to 39.5" in about first 40-45 days of flower.

That's interesting. Mine finished at 40 inches, too. It grew from 10 inches to 35 inches in five weeks - 2 weeks after showing pistils.

Heheh, I'm heating my house with my lights. A couple days ago, I disconnected the outside duct outlet. It's been below 50 degrees for over 12 hours and the house temp is stable from 1000 or so watts of HID and CFL.

Free lighting til next summer!

Kerala2 is dry - came to 72 grams.

Update time ...

I skipped last week because I've been busy doing my taxes - at the last minute of course. Why do I do that? Anyway, I finally can spare the time to upload a whole bunch of pics.

I've been lighting bare floor for a couple weeks, but this current veg is going more slowly than the earlier ones did, so I ended up with a gap in timing. I have just four left in the flower room - Hawaiian Snow, 2 Jamaican Dreams and a Kerala (Indian Skunk). The Jamaicans will be finished in 3 weeks with the Hawaiian close behind. The Kerala is actually looking pretty darned good - better than her 2 older sisters, and will probably finish earlier than the 13 weeks it took them.

In veg I have another Jamaican Dream, a White Panther and a Caramelo, along with a couple JD cuts that I'm gonna fool around with, maybe make a mother out of one. I think the Panther will go into 12/12 next week and the other 2 the week after. I'm pleased with the Panther - it's had a nice look to it its entire life.

The Caramelo is plain weird though. It has heavily ridged "rubbery" leaves and grows very slowly straight up. Its first 4 nodes took up less than a half inch. Now that it's 53 days old, it finally started to develop some side branches - before that they stayed hidden under the thick leaves and barely developed. The thing is like a friggin cabbage! Has anyone run into this before?

I also started three more seeds - Panama, Tangerine Dream and Wild Thailand. I mucked up my research - didn't do my due diligence - and am only now finding that people have not been so enchanted with Tangerine Dream. Nice taste and all, but wispy and weak. The only hope would be that it's a short indica pheno, but nope, mine is growing like my Hawaiian Snow did. It's a sativa dom. But it looked great in all the grows I saw, so it should be fun to grow and who doesn't need some nice tasty smoke. There are ways to beef it up some. Not so sure about Panama now either. Ah well, I'll know in a few months.

Now that's an UPDATE!

Sweet update! Those JD's are going strong, it is looking like they are all flower and few leaves, so lovely looking, gonna be the easiest trim job ever

Thanks Rainstacks!

They're every bit as delightful to grow this time as last. I have pics from the same time/age of the first one, and these definitely have fatter calyxes and maybe more trichs too, it's hard to tell. Even the 7 point fans have trichs, so they'll have to go in the hash bag with some sugar leaf trim. But yeah, I'll probably leave most of the sugar leaves on the buds. It's kinda nice to have some shake along with the nugs, for just a little tune-up buzz.

(... is there a song lyric in there ... ?)

Looking Great!

JD.....now that's a nice plant. Excellent resin. :goodjob:

Thanks, Doc. The JD's love this soil. Somebody else needs to run this strain!

And the Kerala looks decent, didja notice? It might turn out to have been worth it.

Looking great man! The Hawaiian snow is for sure looking the weakest. I like the Kerala.

I would bet thaT tangerine dream is a male from way it growing, but of course only one way to know for sure.

Well, the Hawaiian is a pure sativa, so she turned into a mess weeks ago. But we're in the home stretch now, just a few weeks to go. I raised the dark period by an hour today to 11/13. That should help it finish.

TD is a fem seed, so I hadn't thought of that, but ...

Utopia Haze sprouted tonight while I wasn't looking!

(They always seem to do that)

And I took a couple cuts from the revegging SLH. They're pretty small but there are plenty more to choose from and I wanted to see how well they root.

Seriously, folks ... 'sup with this supposedly marijuana plant? Has anyone seen this before?

It's 53 days old and 8 inches tall - heavily ridged, dull, velvety, rubbery leaves. I'm assuming it's the genetics ... ?

I have this SLH in reveg (right rear corner), and I'm thinking I'd like to keep her, but she's in mineralized soil and I'd want her in high brix soil, so ...

Could I cut the rootball back to, say, a 6-8 inch cube and replant her in 6 gallons of Doc's high brix kit?

Greytail, what sort of training did you do to the White Panther? I have two going. I was trying them down pretty aggressively. They were never topped or FIMed. They just kept right on growing one strong top with little or no development from the nodes. The nodes are spaced pretty close. They just never did much. Yours looks like a happy bush!

I've been doing very light LST on my vegging plants. Once the main top starts to really develop around 6-8 inches high, I bend it over at the 4-5th node and tie it down. But from there, I just shape it by hand. When it's bent over, the lower branches are level with the top, so I begin to bend the tallest ones out from the plant, lowering them. I just use a finger to gently pull them down and away from the main stem. They're pretty springy, so you can get a sense of when you've stressed the fibers, and the branch doesn't return to its original position - just gentle guidance. I'll also push lower branches up and closer to the stem to bring them level with the canopy. I just fiddle with them a few times a day, trying to get as many tops level as possible, but I don't use strings - just manual "encouragement". A good Dom doesn't need or want to use restraints all the time. :;): When it's finished, you see a gentle S-bend in the main stem, with a string of side branches, all pointed up, and fairly even. I can generally get 10-12 even tops by the time they go into 12/12. From there, they grow at different rates, but they start out even.

I've been kinda OCD with the Panther, so the top is like a flat-top. :cheesygrinsmiley: I use a lot of CFLs within 1-2 inches of the canopy, so I get really tight node spacing, too.

I'm liking the White Panther so far, how about you? Do yours have a strong minty odor?

Interesting. I admit I haven't paid as much attention the White Panthers as the other plants I have going. They are both just starting flower and will probably be one cola plants.
